Tom Abdo was a professional poker player from Minnesota who passed away while playing in a poker tournament in Las Vegas in 1995.
According to reports, Abdo was playing in the $1,500 seven-card stud tournament at the World Series of Poker when he suffered a heart attack at the table. Despite efforts by tournament officials, medical personnel, and fellow players to revive him, Abdo passed away at the age of 49.
Abdo was a well-respected player in the poker community, known for his skill and friendly demeanor at the table. His untimely death was a shock to many in the poker world, and he is remembered as a beloved member of the community who left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Rest in peace Tom Abdo.

Fortunately, this is not a common occurrence. Although when playing stud holding a made flush vs a player with 3 of a kind showing, I can understand the strain on the heart!
