(Hi folks! Long time lurker, first time posting! So I cannot post a URL; so sorry folks that means if you want to watch the video of the hand played out, you'll need to copy this link -
http://gg.gl/bxb5j

I'm really intrigued as to how BBJ influences people's play and how they approach a hand... in this one, BBJ did not ever enter my mind until after the hand when the pop-up appeared...

So, I play the suited connectors, and bet the draw on the flop vs the limper - little did I know how strong he was! With rush & cash the action comes thick and fast, and given that there was no raise pre-flop, I didn't put him on an ace, let alone a pocket pair of them! To be honest, I'm just looking for another green (club) card so I can fire the money in, and I'm only really frightened of the board pairing up (again) to give Ax a boat against the flush I hope to make.

I'm interested to know how folks might change their play based on knowledge of any BBj in play (I had totally forgotten about the BBj until the pop-up appeared telling me I'd won the Jackpot! I was so excited at having a straight flush, I shat a brick for a brief moment, thinking I'd lost the hand! Turns out, I got the runner-up opponent prize, the winner of the hand obviously not a bad beat lol)

Hi AcesMagnet,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com :welcome:

I fixed the link in the first post.
At least I think I did — when I go there, I see the hand play out, but there is a progress bar across the middle of it the prevents me from seeing what you had. ***Note — if you zoom out in the browser it shows fine.

When I use Chrome instead of firefox, I can now see the hole cards.
You were rather fortunate!
I see that Opponent in this hand got the bad beat jackpot, but surprisingly you did not get a big hand jackpot. I guess only one jackpot pays per hand.

I am extremely pleased that you severely punished AA for limping pre-flop — although $108 BBJ is hardly punishment. Would you have called if opponent had raised? Shoved?

Nice hand.

Oh yeah, I moved this hand to the Hand Discussion board, since it is after all a discussion of a single hand.

All the best,
VS

I did get a prize too, Vorpa. Its called the "Bad beat Jackpot opponent prize" which is why I pooped my pants for a brief moment thinking I'd lost the hand.

There is an image showing all the prizes here:
https://my.pokercraft.com/embedded/post/shared/gjfs3p

He gets an extra $106, I got an extra $34, everyone else at the table got $8 just for watching lol

EDIT: I also get a ggcheers 2.5k stack entry into their 9am free cash distribution tourney which is automatic all-in comp for all bad beat losers & lucky suckout winners from the previous 24hrs...

That's their way of rakeback, instead of rewarding volume, they dish out free money to 25% of the field in this daily early morning tourney (usually about 100 000 entries into it). Their thinking being that this rewards recreational players instead of regs. Without recs, regs have no profession.

That's how I built my GG bankroll without ever depositing! I won one of their freerolls, went to the NL10 table, got 3 bad beats, ended up with about $75 worth of cash-game buyins and never looked back since, lol

I made the links visible for you, but it looks like it wasn't any picture links.
In general I think you played it fine with the straight flush. If villain had raised pre-flop it was most likely a easy win for him/her.

Cheers,
