About villain's play I agree. I think he should bet bigger on such flop if he is gonna bet; not the most favorable flop for 3-betting range but obviously pretty good for his hand.

And I agree on the turn too, I dont know what the check raise really accomplishes. Sure he gets the money in without having to play river, but also indeed two straights get there so he will most likely get money in 40-60 or fold out hero's bluffs, worse FD's, two pairs. Well maybe T8 too, but essentially he is bluffing with guaranteed good equity for some reason here.

Yeah I think betting small like 1/4-1/3 pot in turn would be pretty nice for his hand. I would also think that could perhaps be gto wise something it would use. Idea being there are some hands that really cant fold to small bet but are in very bad shape versus his hand, Also perhaps some hands would not mind to bet-fold for protection like some AAQQ perhaps. Kind of suck versus pot bet if checking. If I remember right solver was using some of these top sets as bet-fold when they had absolutely no straight blocker value but who know if this is one of those spots Well might be it was sets blocking own boat outs like AQQ9 without fd couldm´make sense.

With shallower stack I think turn x-shove is ok as it guarantees full equity realization and hand suck as bluff catch on blank rivers. Like if stacks are such that SPR is around 0.5 on river after turn x-c do you want to fold or call blank river?
