A bet when the board pairs is a common bluffing spot.
However, since you 3Bet, you're unlikely to have top pair without betting the flop.
Checking it down seems OK — especially if this is fast-fold poker, since your own style is unknown to opponent also.
If BB had bet, would you have called?

I would think of a small value bet on the river. It's likely villain has ace high and those hands could call I think.
