stars client freeze

Hello everyone,

I have a problem where everything freezes immediately after starting the client. By "everything," I mean the entire computer. The initial page comes up and that's it. I've tried reinstalling the client multiple times, deleting all PS files, messing around with administrator mode and Defender, but the issue persists. The computer is fine otherwise; this problem only occurs with the PS. Customer service is very clever; I politely asked them to find another job, but within half an hour, I received only the template text. Does anyone have any ideas?

Sadly I don't have any idea.

Try this:
copy the entire folder:
C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\PokerStars
to a safe place on your computer.
Uninstall PokerStars
Then delete the folder above.
Download a new copy of the install package from PokerStars
Install it

See what happens. You will lose all your settings, but this isn't nearly as bad as not running at all.
In the folder you saved is a file called notes.<your_PokerStars_username>.xml
If you copy that into the new settings folder you should have all your notes back.

There is a program called "Revo Uninstaller" that can remove all the associated files and registry entries as well. If you can get a free trial of that, I recommend it. I have a paid version and use it frequently.

there are also files in that folder called:
PokerStars.log.n
where n is a number. They may contain info PokerStars support could use.

Best of luck :gl:,
VS

I have already tried these things
I deleted all pokerstars files
app data pf x86, etc
new installation
everything is fine with the machine, sometimes it is on for weeks
I had this problem a long time ago, then I downloaded the client from the French site and it worked fine.
but now the client is the same everywhere.

The drivers idea is a possibility — check the video drivers especially.
I don't think he can even get the client open long enough to turn those off.

thank you all for your help
I found the problem, although the solution is only half there.
the video card driver was really the problem.
if I delete it, stars works, if I install it, it freezes.

Glad to help! If you have a dedicated video card, maybe check it's options and try running pokerstars from your processor's graphics, see if that helps after you install your dedicated video driver.

Now that you are in my debt, let me plug my pokerstars problem thread. :sifflote:
