Even though your remaining stack is somewhat small and you get large odds, both players show too much strength for you to continue with 99 imo, unless you know them to make loose 3 bet/calls.

sadly they were loose aggresive players that donkbet 78% of the time and 63% of the time ♠_frown:

but i did indeed fold as it looked too suspicious. i just want to know if i did the right thing or if i folded too quickly?

I find post-flop play a lot trickier than pre-flop. For the pre-flop play you can use the stack:ratio rule of thumb that can really help against 3bets.

If I remember them correctly:
AK+, JJ+ = Call always
TT, AQ = Call if your remaining stack = 2.5 to 4 X the amount of your original raise
77-99, AJ = Call if your remaining stack = up to 2.5 X the amount of your original raise.

Of course that is a general rule of thumb that is not well adjusted to all types of opponents and situations. This hand for example is a fold imo, even though you get the correct ratio to push, but the 4 bet and the 4bet call is just too strong if opponent is unknown.

But in NL10 and NL25 I think the rule works pretty well. If you play with stats, then you can learn to adjust your pre-flop play a lot better to each opponent though, and increase your EV.

I would either Shove because it is on 25NL so people are more donkish than ever + you get roughly 23% eq , hitting a set is roughly 19%~

Folding ain't bad either but I prefer to stick it in and see what the hell they were doing (=going to the showdown)
