Do we make a big mistake by betting and involving ourself in this hand?

I shove this hand preflop mate. This guy is surely calling us looooose. (I didn't equilate it though)

As played I Bet/Shove flop. We are getting value out of FD's, Worse Top Pairs maybe even some straight draws. Its not just the made flush we come up against.


But considering we only have 5 hands on him, isn't it safer to consider him a complete unknown?

And from an unknown I don't think we should expect any worse Q to be limping UTG. Nonetheless you probably get at least 50% Eq against AQ, KQ,PPs +FD so a bet/shove seems fine to me as well.

Thanks guys - definitely 5 hands is unknown for me too. Good to know I'm not the only one who'd loose his shirt in this spot...

You can have reads of your opponent if you observe him when waiting Big Blind, but here you have too few hands of vilan. Keep your fish and wait a better hand.

bet/push flop for max protection on this board.

It's really only 5 hands, but already smells of fish. :)
