Hello, what do you think is the optimal betsize in this situation (if betting at all)?

Hi samuel.

If I were to play this hand, I would shove it preflop over the limp, maximising FE. KQs should have enough equity overall against a limper range to make this +ev.

The problem with raising, against the big stack, is exactly this. He calls.

Any bet now commits you, and this is a horrible board. You have no stack to speak of, and can't fold if c/raised or even just called.

Avoid spots like this by pushing preflop. there are 250 chips to pick up, and you can expect to be ahead mostly if called.

Hi all,

A shove preflop is best, yes. As played I just bet/fold 300 chippies.

good to know. I always find myself in difficult situations with KQ . especially in the early stage.

Hi SteIIstuI.

This is not so much an early stage way to play KQ, normally tight is right early, and KQ isn't much of a hand to be aggressive with mostly.

This stage, though, where Hero has only 13BB, it's right to punish limpers by shoving with a much wider range, and KQs becomes very strong.
