I am quite sure its the correct call pre flop. I put him on a weak ace or small pocket pair. i know it was a 100% fold on the river but i couldn't bring myself round to fold even though i knew he had the hand. should i have shoved the flop/turn considering its 3 way and so many draws?

Hi Toby.

I would never complete preflop here, K4 is nothing to expect to get play with OOP.

TP on this flop is also not good enough for me to want to call with. It can be behind to so many other Kx hands, flush and straight draws. So I fold here.

Turn, now you have 2 pair, which could already be behind a straight, even if that is unlikely. If you bet out here, it has to be much bigger. Since any decent bet is more than most of your stack, shoving would have to be correct.

And, of course, river is just ugly. Since you've checked for bluff induce, you may sometimes be in front. You need to win 25% of the time to make this call.

My rookie opinion...

Pre-flop - K4 is never a great starting hand, but for the price from the small blind I don't totally hate the call occasionally. I would be looking to flop 2 pair or better though - no exceptions. If I don't hit 2 pair or better, then I'm looking to check it down all the way or fold if faced with a bet. If I do hit it, then I bet the pot and try to take it down right there.

Flop - You didn't hit the 2 pair + minimum, so I like your check, but not the call.

Turn - Even though you now have 2 pair, the other 2 players showed interest in the flop so this card scares me. Remember the BB got to see the flop for free so he could have a lot of hands that draw well to that 5♠ 6♠. I would check-fold.

River - Automatic check-fold...

Hi all,

FOLD PREFLOP!!!

As played, flop's not bad. As played on the turn we should bet more. About 1200 is better. As played on the river just shove directly.
