Hand recorder used for this poker hand: Texas Grabem 1.7 by www.pokerstrategy.cc.

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5♠, T♠
2 folds, MP1 calls, 2 folds, CO calls, BU calls, SB folds, Hero checks.

Flop: (4,50 SB) 7♣, T♣, 2♦ (4 players)
Hero checks, MP1 checks, CO checks, BU checks.

Turn: (2,25 BB) 5♣ (4 players)
Hero bets, MP1 folds, CO calls, BU folds.

River: (4,25 BB) K♣ (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks.

Final Pot: 4,25 BB

Two questions: bet flop? (top pair no kicker, 3 opps, checking seemed the right thing to do, but what if someone bets?) bet river? Any club will beat us. I was going to call his bet though.

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q♥, Q♦
2 folds, UTG+2 raises, 3 folds, Hero 3-bets, 3 folds, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: (7,50 SB) 4♣, T♦, 5♦ (2 players)
UTG+2 bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (4,75 BB) A♦ (2 players)
UTG+2 bets, Hero raises, UTG+2 3-bets, Hero calls.

River: (10,75 BB) 3♣ (2 players)
UTG+2 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 12,75 BB

I was going to play call flop raise turn. Should I have switched to call-down after the scare card on the turn? Or even raise flop immediately because of the two diamonds?

How to react to SB's turn donk? Call-down ok?

I'm going to comment too, even though I'm not a judge...

Just to learn from this by reading later on how the judges have disagreed with me!

1) I would have played it the same, though I don't like to donk against 3 foes.

2) I would've also tried to raise turn, but that ace scares me... calldown from me I think.

3) nh, I don't think he would have 66 because of the 3-bet preflop.

4) since he paid your flopbet, I put him with straightdraw and 2 overcards... like KQ, so I would fold turn. Maybe raise turn to see if he actually has the straight.

thats the right attitude gaichuke... i handle it the same way with cirith. he comments every hand with his really really limited poker knowledge, does a lot of mistakes and most of the time has no clue what he is talking about.
but then comes the prince in his bright shining armor (thats me of course) and gives the right advice to every single hand because of my ernormous pokerskills

1) i think now i would bet the flop but at these limits i think i would maybe check it and see what happens (a bet is good also). turn is good. river is check/call for me (again ). //edit: after another thought i´m pretty sure that a bet is best

2) i like it. the A :diamond: could be a really scary card for him also. at the river you beat nearly nothing but i think the pot is to big to fold for one bet... ugly hand.
@cirith: is this a spot where you can raise the flop to get a calldown from A high ?

3) when he has the nuts you are a fool when you don´t lose the maximum with this hand :). again: don´t fear the worst

4) i like the calldown here. make a note with what he donks at this board

imho ;)

Cool Gaichuke! The more discussion the better I think.
EDIT: only now see frzl's post lol

1) The turn bet isn't really a donk, since noone showed any agression yet. At the flop everybody checks, indicating noone has a made hand, so I'm very possibly ahead. The turn brings the third club, but I be anyway, preparing to fold to a raise. If noone has the flush, they may think that I have it and fold. In retrospect I should have bet flop though, so as not to give anyone a free card.

3) Good point. He held QQ in fact, the third nuts! The best possible hand he could have from my perspective.

4) That's what I thought, but I just had to see it... He held QJ. EDIT Frzl: yes, I should have made a note, but I didn't and I don't remember his handle...

1) Bet the flop. Turn is ok and the river is either bet/fold vs passiv people or check/call vs aggressive ones.
If you bet the flop and turn and get raised on the turn you can check/fold the river.

2) Hmm interesting hand. With what does he donk into us? I think because he donks and the fact that a flushcard wouldn't be that bad (call flop, raise turn is a good thing to raise good turns to save a bet if a bad card comes and gain a bet if he has a fd) a raise on the flop would be a good option here aswell.
If you call the flop and go for a raise on the turn the A :diamond: is not the best card to raise. Either he has now a pair (he raised preflop) or he could have made his flush + he might fold a 4,5 or T which we are way ahead of.
I'm not sure if its good or bad for us if he folds his 5 outer against us bujt because we have additional out I think you better just call down on the turn. Another fact for just calling here is to raise the river if we it the flush.
So either raise the flop directly or call this turn if called on the flop.

3) You answered your question.... only 66... NH!

4) Nh, my quess he donks either a Q or a completes straight.
Classical the name of him is in the handghistory maybe you saved it somewhere. After you got the name you can edit your notes.txt file in the partypoker folder (The comments have an easy format so you just copy one of the names in it, replaxce it with the opponent name I write the note behind it, save the file and the next time you have a bettter read. :) )

Btw nice to have a 3rd comment in here. Keep commentating Gaichuke. :)
