That's the advantage of living in a supposedly third world country

$750 will take care of my home loan, food and a little beer..

$1250 and i can bathe in BEEEEEEEEEER... lol .. I will be living life king size

Im planning to leave Germany and go to Brazil (could live there with 1/4th of what is needed in germany) for a year to see if I can make poker a living as you, but you got to think about some things:

- No one knows how poker will be in 5 years, so supposing you are still young (under 30), would you like to life off of something you don't know how it will be in 5 years?
- Yes, many say new types of poker will arise, etc, but the point still is that it is not predictable.
- Do you have any plan B?

I will try it out for a year, and in case it doesn't work, I am going back to germany and study.

I'm some sort of poker pro now, as in, trying to get by until graduated. Just chose poker as an option over a crap job as there's very little good jobs for newly graduated folks out there now.

750 $ just covers my rent for 36m² studio, lol
I need 1500 minimum to survive comfortably, 2500$/mth to have some relative luxuries ♦

I normally tend to live for the day without thinking about what might happen in the future. All i know is that i really enjoy playing poker and hope this can become my primary source of income. Therefore, i dont have a plan B as of now. I might want to complete my Masters later on, if it comes to that (there are a million MBAs out there though).

SonicXT: The job market is relatively screwed the world over .. I remember paying through my nose for an apartment when i was abroad. The cost of living in most parts of europe is pretty high, comparatively ofcourse.

I had a decent session today: no moolah though (down $1.36 cents after 16 $2 180 man tourneys)

Had 3 ITM finishes, with 2 of them being final tables (9th and 5th respectively).

These are my stats playing the $2 180 man since the beginning of may.

Total tourneys played:1366

Net Profit:$1098.44 (max was at $1460)

Total ITM:188

1st place - 14, 2nd - 11 and 3rd - 7. However, i have not had a first place finish since August 20th.

I was actually up $2.96 yesterday - 4 finishes ITM

The past few days have been quite a roller coaster. I nearly lost my entire roll once again due to the devil. Fortunately, common sense prevailed in the end and i ended up saving atleast half my roll.

my current roll stands at $370.

I have started reading "the Poker Mindset" and must admit that i possess a lot of flaws (mentally) which i need to work on. I will take one small step at a time to overcome each of these, the most important being tilt. I need to be able to get away from the computer when things are not going my way.

Today is a new day and MAN do i feel rejuvenated or what. Reading a few chapters from the poker mind set really helped set the tone for a nice session.

I only played 4 $2 180 mans but finally broke the 3 month long (700 tourney) jinx and finished 1st in a tourney :)..... my roll is now over $500 once again and i feel excited about what lies in store.

I will read a few more chapters from the book, especially the one about tilt and will play a marathon session a little later in the day.

The Poker Mindset was the first poker-related book I read, even before I started playing. Although I can't see a difference like before/after (there was no before), my mindset is quite always awesome. Almost never tilt, and when I do, it doesn't take me more then 5 minutes to stop the session and come back later with the right mindset.

Thanks Skeat, it was long overdue.

I have always had a problem with tilt as it has caused my bankroll to disappear many a time. I tend to be like a woman's menstrual cycle - no problem for 27 days in the month and then all of a sudden i bleed.

I actually read your blog the other day and i think you are doing really well atm. Good luck with your game and i must admit, I would love to go to Brazil as well, based on the pic you put up.. I will definitely read your blog and hope that you achieve everything that you out to do

It has been 8 days since i last updated my blog. I have played quite a lot since then but nothing interesting has happend in terms of winnings.

Unfortunately, most of my results were between 18 and 10, which meant i did not win a lot of money.

Today was slightly different though. I played 6 tournaments in total.

4 $2 180 mans and 2 PLO MTTs.

I managed to come first in one of the MTT, we actually struck a deal in the end. We decided to split the prize money equally, so i actually won $350

I read your already reading the book but the psychology articles helped me alot to not go on tilt and those articles are very helpful so i would read those anyway.

The past few days have been really good. Managed to come 1st in 2 180 mans. I am not going to complain about the beats i have suffered, as what goes around normally tends to come around in the long run. But Seriously, how do people go all in with 84 off pre flop in the first hand of a tourney and bust my KK :f_mad:...

I have managed to play 136 tourneys since my last post, but even though i managed to win 2 tourneys, my profit stands at a great $0.60 in this period

the good thing though is that i am not underwater

I am also 8 tabling with ease at the moment, and am a step closer to 12 tabling. Is it possible to manage 12 tables on a 14" monitor. If yes, should i cascade coz tiling will be really difficult. Any suggestions in this regard will be really helpful.

you can tile with 8 tables with such a small screen?

tile-ing only works for me till 9 tables at pokerstars then it does nothing when i click it.

i think cascading is better if it doesn't fit on your screen.

But Seriously, how do people go all in with 84 off pre flop in the first hand of a tourney and bust my KK ...

its even funnier when you see a person like that being first when your already ITM

btw 136 tournies and $0,60 profit. maybe you should play on less tables o.O 136 tournies is alot..
