Why did i make such a bad call on the river? I knew from before that he mini-raises pre-flop with kings. I had a bad feeling he had Aces or kings, but called small raises till river (hoping to hit 2 pairs or something), i was very close to folding river but just said "what the hell", and then found out he had aces. Last hand of the day and had trouble sleeping. What a sick feelling.

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

both of you played the hands so bad... AA minraise against 4 players... you calling insane overbet on the pot was ofc the biggest with just top pair... oh well... lets hope that sick feeling stays longer, so no more calls like this happen

u cannopt sleep after losing $10. common u can make that in under an hour in a real job

Same dude, losing over $10 on NL25 on river i had a set AQAXA and he had a full house 88-8AA.

I had a VERY GOOD feeling he had me after the river when he check-raise. Forcing me to go all in with my last $10. I made a big mistake n i can feel your pain.

Anyway, the experience of losing to this kind of hand will make us more better as a poker player.

Your two biggest mistakes were both preflop ...

Why did you limp KQo in this hand ?
And do you always limp KQ in middle position ?

Tokyoaces, i only see one mistake.. (the limp) the call is fine.

I limped because raising with KQ in middle position is dangerous and i just wanted to see the flop. Hoping for a good hand.

bad play preflop imo

raise them and fold to a decent 3-bet

:club:1. LIMP/CALL. You should bet preflop and after the flop. If you get a 3 bet preflop or after the flop (if he slowplays aces) you have some clue how to play afterwards...

:spade:2. RIVER CALL. You simply cant pay 10$ for 2$ in the pot with top pair, even you had a top kicker which you hadnt.

p.s. The AA guy played even worse this hand-min raise 4 way pot preflop :f_eek: and after the flop :f_mad:, all in on the river :f_confused:...

My experience tells me that KQ plays really poorly in a multi-way pot. It was absolutely squeeze or fold after a min-raise.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm going to try and be more aggressive with KQ next time, so if i re-raise and someone pushes then i'll fold or if they just call, there will be less players on the flop and then i'll raise on flop and see what happens from there.

That's not the point.

The only really big mistake was on the river.

A-4 would beat you, a set would beat you and even A-K would beat you. and ofcourse AA

You realy can't call that donk size bet with just a K high especially not against a tight player.

Its not K high, i had top pair.

If you had three aces on AA8xx you don't have a set, you have trips.

*i just wanted to see the flop*

Why would you want to see the flop if you could either take down the pot right there or not lose your stack against aces?

Donks want to see the flop, thats where the money comes from..
