WELL FOR ME, started with $50 earning $2.65 perhours. Play 2 tables NL0.10/0.25.
I need 1923 hours to reach $5000. Unless i move up limit or play more tables.

If u expect to make 5k$ in 3months then u are more likely to go broke even sooner. Also I'll assume that by beginning play u mean SSS and it'll take far longer that way. BSS isn't advisable yet unless u have solid poker knowledge.

of course you'll have a huge chance of going broke, but hey you said nothing about what's an acceptable risk for you
LOL unless your capable of 12 tabling (minimum) and can still play your A game and not let beats affect you then it's not going to happen. You'd need to play a good 300,000/400,000 hands to achive that target. This also asumes that your capable of beating limits upto and including NL200.
Theres also the matter of finding enough time as i asume you have a job etc.

why would anyone play 250k hands on NL25, win, and never move up?
there are just too many variables to this question for anyone to give a definite answer.
It can take anywhere from 1 day to 1 year or more.

I would like to quit my job and concentrate on poker HOWEVER, peoples surround me would never like the idea b4 they saw me winning big money 1st as a proof.
ATM, i'm quit happy with my winning rate perhour since i'm playing less time with SSS.
While writting this i just won this hand started with buyin $5. Won 3 times from the same person.

Known players:
MP3 = ($20.26)
CO = ($5.00)
BU = ($25.25)
SB = ($12.84)
BB(Hero) = ($11.84)
MP1 = ($25.07)
MP2 = ($4.55)
Preflop: Hero is BB with 3, 9.
2 folds, MP3 calls $0.25, 3 folds, Hero checks.
Flop: ($0.6) 3, 2, 9 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP3 bets $0.50, Hero raises to $1.50, MP3 calls $1.00.
Turn: ($3.6) 3 (2 players)
Hero bets $3.00, MP3 calls $3.00.
River: ($9.6) 4 (2 players)
Hero bets $7.09, MP3 calls $7.09.
Final Pot: $23.78.

Sure you can, $5K is the minimum prize pool. Surely its possible for heaps of people to register and bump it way over that.

enter a $10 tournament with 5000 players and finish First.

also the chances of a 5k guaranteed tournament ending up having a 50k prize pool is not very likely. the total money usualy goes very little over the guaranteed amount.
I went from 280FPP -> $1,5k in one night only by cash gaming! do the 1-2BI rule and it will take you, if your on a hot stream less than 3 days! =D
