I forgot to bet the flop here with bottom pair and gutshot. Turn fills my gutshot and I bet for value. River completes the backdoor flush and villain checks. I figure he probably won't C/R on the river so I bet for value and get raised. I think I'm either up against a flush or a straight. Fold here?

Hi,

I like your flop check, our hand isn't that strong and the fish love to play broadway hands. When we bet and get called we're in trouble usually, most of our outs aren't clean except for the nut gutshot, and if we get raised it really sucks because we can't call it.

I'd just pot the turn. River bet is obviously good and when he raises it's a fold against a decent player. If he's a fish (which he is, there are no good halfstackers out there) it's closer because a good amount of them are dumb enough to show up in that spot with worse than Jx. I'd just call or fold based on how tight i view the guy, probably fold as a default unless i have a reason not to.
