security@pokerstrategy.com emailed me to provide them with ID picture wich I did, now it is asked of me to make photo of me holding passport and showing my face. Why is this neccesary and is it normal?

Wooooow there is just millions of such threads everyday.
It would be nice if pokerstrategy explain something what is going on there.
I really didnt have any problems, my gf either my frends no problems too etc.....
well nowhere on the site it says i will have to take picture of myself.
It fucking says i MIGHT HAVE TO FUCkING SCAN MY ID, so what the fuck is this bullshit, atleast mention somewhere what you might want from us not just say somethink and then expect me to just keep on doing what you ask me to do.
Nowhere did it say when i started taking quiz i will have to send you pictures of myself, so what the fuck is going on

This is not necessary and that wont solve any problems.
As i said they may have reason for asking u to do that.
Contact PS costumer service for more information and let us know why is that.
I would like to explain to my freinds what is going on if they face with similar situation.
And if u want 50" u do what they say. If u dont want that there is no problem neither for u neither for them.
U may deposit those 50 by yourself as well.

Now first of all, there is no need to get angry here and please refrain from swearing in the future :).
The starting capital security checks may consist of some photographs, bills, etc. and are there solely for the fraud prevention purposes. It is completely normal that you have to pass such a security check and I personally do not see a real problem with it as all you need for it is a cell phone with a camera or a digital camera, which most of people have nowadays and if not, you can probably always borrow one from a friend. Be aware that the picture of you will not be shared or shown to anyone so there is really no need to be afraid of anything. After passing the security check you will receive the $50 and forget all the trouble that you are going through right now, but in the end it will be all worth your while ;).

how long does it usally take to get a email back to confirm u have passed the id check any help would be appreciated thanks.
thats all ok, but thats only for FullTilt poker right? because lot of my friends who passed the quiz doesnt do that to other poker site's (ex. PartyPoker) why that?

The ID checks are completely random and are not dependant on the poker platform, so this is not only for Full tilt poker :).

I would like to make the suggestion that your website drop this $50 promotion entirely, and consequently scrap the ID checks. No offense, you have a great website and I really hope I can utilize the info available here. But the more I read the more I feel like I'm living through 1935-1945.
I am guessing you all live in the EU which is quickly moving towards a police state. I live in Canada and as such I don't see visibly the changes that are occuring in the USA and the EU, although they have now put the naked scanners in airports here...
I just find this really creepy, and I mean no offense as I am sure your website has no evil intentions. Regardless however, just because the intentions may be right, the means are not always justifiable. I am sure that I am not the only one who has found this policy to be unusual.

No, I don't mean it to come across like they are forcing me. I am just expressing how I feel about the ID requirements. I am just hoping that there is some alternative to the $50 so I don't have to give an ID, like can I just sign up for Full Tilt and get the bonus without having to send in an ID?
