Is it OK to limp from UTG with a suited ace?
Was it a reckless play by me to put my entire SNG on two pair in level 1?

Hi there.

Don't limp suited Aces from EP. Sometimes call them after a few limpers from late position.

Raising the flop is fine, but once BB check/calls the bet, and your raise, you have to think he is holding pocket twos or sevens often.

I know it is only a $1 tourney, which could mean they both have trash, but I think checking behind the turn, and letting it go if he shoves the river is fine.

Some of the reason you can limp with suited connectors and suited aces facing several limpers, are due to the implied odds, when you hit your hand hard on the flop.

From early position, you don't know how many are in the pot, and therefore don't have the same implied odds. Furtermore, there are greater chance of a raise behind you, because more people are left to act, and a raise is hard to call with a speculative hand like suited Ax.

Hi all,

Refer to aciddrop for preflop. Rest of the hand is played perfectly.

@aciddrop: there is no evil monkey in the closet! Promise! (or any other monsters for that matter)
