[Closed] NL50 - AQ facing raise behind

Tough, but I guess even with that much dead money you can fold here. Unless its a squeeze play (what I doubt on this limit), you are way behind against AA or KK, maybe QQ. If it´s a squeeze play you often have a coin flip against a Medium Pocket Pair and then its profitable to call here.

So without reads on that opponent I fold here. If I know that he does that often with 77 to JJ I call because of the dead money and when I´m last to act, because I only want to be HU. If somebody behind me has to act as well I fold, because when I call he might can call as well. Thats something we don´t want.

How do I determine that? Based on my stack size alone that is a call according to the strategy right? And I figured that all the dead money would make it even more so. Is it the fact that SB had no fear of reraising even with 2 cold callers?

I don't like AQo in general and it seems that when playing it from MP1 there are just too many players left to act behind me. I'm tempted to only play AQo from MP3 (maybe MP2 at a tight table.) I don't know though...

Sorry the main page is buggy and I can´t log on. But I think you Stacksize needs to be 2:1 to call here with AQ or maybe it was between 2.5:1 and 4:1. But honestly he reraises from the SB, so thats a strong move.

And if your Opponent is squeezing is something you will figure out when you played for a lot of hands against him and saw him doing these things.

AQ is between 2.5:1 and 4:1, which my stack was and that's why I called.

4:1+ is JJ+ & AK
2.5:1-4:1 is TT+, AQ & AK
<=2.5:1 is 77+, KQ, AJ, AQ, AK

I can see your reasoning though. I'll keep that in mind if I run into a similar situation again.

Don´t forget that these articles are for Beginner who do not know how to play poker, to get a good start in NL. So these stackratio should help them not to face difficult decisions. But that does not mean that we follow these strategies all the time.
