PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (6 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com

CO (t2055)
Hero (t1145)
SB (t4050)
BB (t2825)
UTG (t1135)
MP (t2290)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[:spade:], 8[:club:].
1 fold, MP raises to t200, 1 fold, Hero ???

Still a good shove even though I'm facing a bet? Villain wasn't big enough that I wouldn't damage him if I won, but what kind of range should I be putting him on?

I kind of think you really didn't have much of a choice. Shove is the only course of action here, otherwise you would be playing way to tight. There are always exceptions, but shove imo is the only choice here. Would you put him on 9's or higher or more likely overcards, you are more often ahead in this situation than not.

its a shove vs an unknown. but im not shoving worse than this.

i think AJo+ 88+ is a good starting range for these kind of spots readless. then adjust from there
