Hi guys, I love many of the blogs in here. I'm going to start my own now that I'm waist high with this poker learning process and in particular using all of the Pokerstrategy tools/articles/videos, etc.
My real goal is to become a big time tourney player, I really love tourneys, the patience and strategy involved. Started playing play money games on Pokerstars.net almost two years ago - then left for more then an year and about 5 months ago deposited money and started playing again.
From when I started I've always done well in tourneys. Seems like I had the patience required for them. I made the money in a pokerstars R2 after about a month I think - then got up to $30 playing $1 tourneys, then lost that on cash tables. I also lost all my PS starting capital on cash tables in Titan Poker at that time too. I kept playing sporadic freerolls or for some periods no poker at all. Made a $20 deposit in Pokerstars around an year ago, but lost that too, I guess it was too little and I lost that within days on cash tables. So my poker journey was pretty rocky till about 5 months ago when I finally began to find my way around it and grow from a $50 deposit. It's like I kind of said "ok, I'm not stupid I have to begin making money on this and I don't suck either judging from my good tourney play" and finally I was able to slowly make some money. And now the last few weeks I finally said, ok, it's time to hit the books and really start advancing in poker. So here I am.
Just recently I began playing the Sunday 1/4 million and played many of the SCOOP low tourneys so far. For those I deposited $50 earmarked for that, to play 3 of the low events (my bankroll isn't enough to play $11 or $22 events using the bankroll rules). Turns out I've made the money 4 times so far and could have made the money on another 2 where I had a large stack and lost it to donks. So my bankroll is now considerably up. For now I'll play 2 or 3 of the remaining low SCOOP events, and after that I'll go back to playing $2 and now $5 MTT's too, making an exception for the weekly go at bigger money on the Sunday 1/4 million, in which I feel very comfortable playing. I'll also be playing cash tables. Currently playing BSS NL2 though I could play NL5 using bankroll rules. I'll move up only when I'm sure I can make money on cash tables given my previous negative experience.
Today I cashed out some of the money I won on SCOOP to deposit in Full Tilt and start playing there too, like that I can earn PS points and see the more advanced articles. My pokerstars account was created before I knew of pokerstrategy so I don't earn PS points for it. I feel like I'm being discriminated lol!! OK, just kidding, it's all fine, I understand this is a business. Just kinda sucks I can't see the silver or gold articles. Hope I'll be seeing the silver ones at least in a couple of weeks.
I guess that's a general overview of my Poker career so far.
