Hey

Villain raises his big hands (wraps/sets/fd+combo etc) and plays/chases his small hands passively (gutshots, weak fds, oesd, pair) semi payoff wizard - called me a couple of times with bottom two on the riv when the board was semidry

Preflop/flop are standard

Turn hits villains SD range but it may have missed so I bet a little on the smaller side so if he decides to raise (KT 99%) I can still call and see a river. I think this is standard?

When he c/c I think his range is narrowed down to FD/8T**/2pair maybe 44..

River gives me 3rd nutflush and villain checks to me.. What are we doing?

At first checking seemed super standard BUT he is capable of paying off with worse and if he has the K or A high flush he most likely has a pair or some SD to go with it so he would most likely raise it on the flop.

I think this is a clear b/f? But maybe i'm missing something.

Sorry for long rambling thought process but it helps a ton if you can correct my spewy thoughts / hand ranges and it also gives you a better picture of why i played it that way (I think)

Thanks

Turn bet sizing I like, sucks in weak hands like top pair, two pair etc. and lets you call the raise with correct odds (IMO) and see the river. ON THE OTHER HAND :f_biggrin: , he's a passive pay-off wizard. He would not hesitate calling a bigger bet IMO AND you could still call his raise in position, having 3rd (in other words - best in this situation) set and a flushdraw which is likely good.

However! :f_biggrin:

When he c/c I think his range is narrowed down to FD/8T**/2pair maybe 44..

I don't think payoff wizard c/c such a strong range. FD and two pair - obv c/c, but 8T (!!!) and a set ( :f_eek: ). No, on this wet and horny board he would definately raise. Since you quite accuratelly described his chasing style ^^ I'd put him on a hand or a combination of: top pair, weak two pair, flush draw, straight draw.

River check behind is a no no, hitting the river and checking it behind is not a good idea. ---BETTER--- flush is a very small part of his range, + that T completes alot of straight draws, so I would definately like a smallish bet of 180 or something. IMO bigger bet would be too strong and make him fold alot of his pay-off hands. You told he paid off a couple of times with bottom two on semi-dry board = that's why you must v-bet yet again. And compile the bet sizing according to those previous hands. How much did he pay off?

Bet/folding seems like a good idea, however (there's that word again), what are the chances that he hit a better flush and checks it on the river? Read dependent, but I think he would fire something to make you pay with your two pair/set/small FD/etc. Did he ever c/r river after playing passive on flop/turn?

Still, I vote for bet/fold, payoff wizard is not capable of c/r worse on the river. I rest my case.

Boom shipit, v'nice eval sir.

I didn't mention why I think he would call 8T (sorry, i always do this) in a recent hand in this same spot he c/c 42** on 35k6hh board (took notes, feelin vanessa) and played this same river line.

When he called me with weak twopair on the river I think one was half pot and the other was 2/3-3/4. He will call a minbet as much as a pot bet in other words :f_biggrin:

I have no idea on his river capabilities apart from being a spewy calling station.. He might be capable of pulling off a c/r since I have a pretty agro image and fired alot of rivers but on the other hand he wasn't adapting, putting me on ranges etc etc so I can't really say what he would do.

Thank for clearing that up, helps me sleep at night imo.

I would really bet the turn higher.
Even against the Nuts, u got 40%, so u can call anytime (even without implieds).
Your hand ist really Strong!

River I'd do a vbet 1/2-2/3 PS to get value from smaller flushes and Str8s, if he is a payout wizard
