I doubled my stack about 3 hands before, so I was not short stack, so Im not sure if this hand fits this category..

Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.01/$0.02 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)

Known players:
[tg]CO$0.52:///////;BU$0.85:///////;SB$0.82:///////;BB$0.46:///////;UTG1$0.40:///////;UTG2 (Hero)$0.80:///////;MP1$0.25:///////;MP2$0.95:///////;MP3$0.37:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is UTG2 with K:s, K:h.
UTG1 folds, Hero raises to $0.08, 3 folds, CO calls $0.08, 2 folds, BB calls $0.06.

Flop: ($0.25) 4:c, 5:s, 9:d (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.20, CO calls $0.20, BB folds.

Turn: ($0.65) 6:c (2 players)
Hero bets $0.26, CO calls $0.24(All-In).

River: ($1.15) Q:h (2 players)

Final Pot: $1.15.
Results follow:

CO shows three of a kind, nines(9:s 9:c).
Hero shows a pair of kings(K:s K:h).

CO wins with three of a kind, nines(9:s 9:c).

Is it well played or bad played?

Take my comments with a piece of salt since I'm a beginner, also playing SSS in micro-limits.

From the way the hand played you took the right actions - with the correct raise amount in early position. Having an overpair in a rainbow flop your bet was correct, and the same on the turn.

With the villain flopping a set there was not much you could do in this occasion, but you will win 4 out of 5 times approximately in the the same situation so it was a +EV play for you (81% vs 19% for KK vs 99).

I would say that even not being shortstacked due the the previous doubleup, it was the correct play.

Good luck at the tables!

Hey asketak,

welcome to the forum and gratz on the first post!

Nice hand, you have a clear made hand and even with double stack you can't give up there. I would only like to bet a little bit less on the flop, because the board is so dry, I think 2/3 of the pot should do it.

Villain having hit top set this time is just a cooler.

Please, remove the results when you post the hands.
