Hi my name is Jack- I cannot verify that the title of my blog is 100% correct but it feels about right. I'm from the UK (as its the 4th of July I feel like I should point out that we let you win that war, we had bigger things like 1/4 of the rest of the world to be taking care of ♦). I'm 18 and live just south of London (or just north of Brighton- whatever suits). I had written a lot more here but pressed the extended editor button and lost it. So I will write a briefer summary of what I wrote previously; I like poker, I like sport, I like altrock, I love action and prop bets, I do not like cauliflower cheese.
Poker history
I'm one of those people that blew the $50 in a vain attempt at instant success, FAIL. With my own money I played at 365 and pokerstars for a bit before I stopped to study. I think for a month or two I made it to silver status. I've also played quite a lot live at pubs and with playing friends in the area. I first started playing poker seriously on a politics trip to Washington DC in February. I was there for SNOWMAGGEDON!!!! and as pretty much everywhere in the city was shut we had to resort to 8 hour long poker sessions to keep ourselves entertained, it turned into a pretty financially beneficial week for me :). Now I play on full tilt as "TheOnlyHopey" however I somehow ballsed up the bonuscode bit and so am not recieving strategy points from them, once again, FAIL. Usually I play FR NL Hold 'em at NL5 or NL10.
Goals
Short Term
- Put in a lot of hands to get my game back up to scratch after a 2 or 3 month break (DONE 9/10)
- Clear my FT bonus (DONE 9/10)
- Deposit some money into another site so I can start accumulating SPs (if anyone could recommend a good site for this I'd be grateful) (DONE 9/10)
- Progress to the next limit on FT by the end of the year
- Read the Poker Blueprint at least 3 times through (I want to get full value on that £27 outlay)
- At least try live NL50 cash pokerat the casino in Bristol- if its as bad as I've heard I'm sure I can safely profit
- Take the tournaments I enter more seriously
Medium Term
- Get to Silver status (DONE-and then undone- but DONE 9/10)
- Get my game to a level where I can contribute an amount of money toward student life (however small some would be nice) (DISCONTINUED 9/10)
- Learn Omaha (DONE- badly 9/10- tbc)
- Establish some links with other players and get some coaching to review my game
- Post as many hands as possible for review
Long Term
- Play in the WSOP
Anyway thats pretty much it for now, I'm going to go and play now.
Will report back later.
Hopey
