This type of player esp with a bigstack is probably bluffing enough to make this +cEV but I think folding here is the right move given you'll still have a pretty good stack

against that kind of opponent I wouldnt even Cbet...

I dont think he is folding to Cbet often enough being in position

also if he is that loose preflop it is very possible that this flop actually hit him

Same here.
If I know he is very loose I might not even cbet with A-high and since he has a pretty big stack he is more likely to call imo and if he does and you miss the turn it is a c/f anyway.

Do you have any postlfop reads on him? Does he like to float w/ overcards, is he a calling station or does he raise w/ air a lot? How often do you think he will bet when you check to him?

Actually I think you played it fine, pretty standard spot to just b/f against most players. If he is really that kind of a monkey you can go c/r against him, but I don't think bet/shoving is gonna all that great. Also note that even against players who call wide preflop cbetting is good because they will miss a lot. If he's passive you can even cbet for value really, like when they "float" you with their Q9 type hands to see if they can catch up but check it down when they don't. There are also quite a few turn cards which improve your equity cuz of your back door straight and flush draws, in which case you hit them you could think of shoving the turn.

If you check I like check/evaluating more than check/shoving. EG if he bets small I prefer check/calling as risk:reward isn't as great (and AK high is actually good a lot of the time anyway).
