Dear fellow PokerStrategists,

when playing suited connectors you are obviously always hoping for the straight flush, but sometimes it's a mere bottom pair you get out of your hand. But isn't there a chance that this might still be enough?

In this week's quiz of the week for Fixed Limit PokerStrategists we look at tricky spots in which you might have a weak made hand, a weak draw or even a monster draw.

{communitylink=opabumbi+level} has created a new quiz in which you can test your ability to evaluate these situations correctly. Is my draw good enough to build a pot? Do I have enough equity to call? Should I just check/fold?

Was it too hard? Too easy? How many points did you score?

Q9.
If the villain is so unreasonable in his play, can you explain why I don't 3bet the river here?

only 14 out of 20

I don't like the explanation at Q9. Since his AF is only 1.3, what does he actually have in his range when he raises flop 4way? A8 is definetely not in his range IMO. J9, 78, 34s, 68s, 58s, 64s, 54s, 69s, 59s, 88, 99 maybe? We're like 40:60 vs that range so I agree with a call, every better hand will cap and we're never getting 66%+ EQ there.

15/20 cause I didn't see a monster draw .

Very nice quiz. Thanks, opabumbi! I failed in two spots where I gave the opponents too much credit, but probably you have to be more SD-bound at higher stakes.

18/20, nice quiz :)

18/20, missed 43s on 39KJ board.. I mean given his low AF i think he just gives up the turn with A-highs and doesn't think about pushing me off of low pocket pairs. 9KJ hits his range very well, and he prolly won't bet low pocket pairs anymore, imo only things he could continue betting here are some low suited conectors that he picked FD with on the turn. I think we are ahead here close to never, and our outs are not suficient to make a call.. My opinion, with the given opponent.

I made the same mistake there. Well probably I am too nitty

18/20, got the 43 hand wrong too except there's no way that a fold is worth 0 while calling is worth 2 points.

I'm close on this too because of the guys low AF, but remember he does have 37 VPIP. Imo it's really close to a flip here so there's probably no point theorising about it.

Don't worry if you chose fold here, it's gonna be correct at the lower limits anyway.

16/20 happy with that considering that i only play fr and not at those nosebleed stakes! ;-)
