Hi All
A long time since I've used these hand evaluation forums so good to be back
I dont have HH for this one since I am posting this at work
will get one soon....
Here's how it went from memory:
Step 2 of 3 step Satellite for Live Tourney package
Buy-in $27 + Rake
4 Left, top 3 get step 3 ticket worth $150, 4-8th $27
Blinds 600/1200/150
BU ~ 18K
SB (hero) ~ 16K after posting
BB (Villain) ~ 15K after posting
UTG/CO ~ 24K
Action Folds to me in the SB with K8o and I push and Villain snaps me off with A3o. Now I hadn't been overly aggresive in previous hands so I dont know why he snaps off, personally I think its a bad call most of the time on his part as he still has a workable stack if he folds (around 11BB M of ~6). In his position I wouldnt mind open shoving w/ A3o but I certainly dont like calling off for your tournament life here.
Also do you think shoving as light as I did was correct against the shortest stacked opponent? I felt this would be a better target than the chip leader for example. Should I be tightening my range in these blind on blind situations if we consider ICM (ie the jump from $27 - $150 prize)
