[Closed] AK Adjusting to Regs

If you think he is a regular and has a tight range UTG then im guessing you put him on QQ+, AK+ in this situation from UTG with a decent stack and the blinds not being very big.

I put this range into Equilator and found that you had a 38% success rate. Which obviously is not good. And I just don't see a good player calling your 3 bet with anything less than AK, meaning that at best your going to split the pot.

I would say call in this situation and if you hit top pair top kicker then continue, if not just check/ fold.

But then again i'm just playing $1 sit n gos so im not a very experienced Sit N Go player just yet.

Yeah.. but that's also what I think I should have done.. I just needed some comfirmation of my dumb play :O.. Well even u are playing only $1 SnG's what u commented is pretty solid ;)..

Well thats not his raising range. Thats his calling range. Which doesn't change the proper line to take. What does the hero gain from going all in? UTG Will fold with less than AK and call with better than AK. Calling is the best line imo.

Well look at it like this:

-if he opens 5 % and calls only AK QQ+(which we have 38% against).

We win 400 chips half the time and lose about 400 chips in average other half the time when we are called. So play is breakeven when he opens only 5%. (therefore folding is better if he opens so nitty)

-if he opens 10 % and calls only AK QQ+, our play is definitely profitable.

-if he opens 10% and calls AQ+ TT+ or something similar, we have much better equity against that range and play is profitable as well.

So push can be profitable (at least in chipEV, not necessarily in $EV). You cannot just take into account only his calling range.

Now whether pushing or calling is better, I think calling is fine against a tight opener - he probably c-bets A/K high boards and you can play it profitably from position.

When you say tight regular what are his stats?

Without knowing them and seeing it is 6 handed I will assume He is probably opening
~7% something like 88+ AJos+ He knows how to 2.5x pre so he has an idea I think pushing
works just fine here with your stack size because there is a decent chance
he will raise fold here. You can definately call in position from the button as well and act
accordingly post flop but 399 chips without a showdown can always be nice here.

Sorry, I don't have any pokertracker yet and probably even if I have one I can't basically use it due to playing on a 17" inch laptop screen about 6-9 tables with overlaps :O.. So in terms of equipment I'm behind but trying to fix that soon ;)..

Nice hand well played. Profitable push against anyone IMO.. I think calling is a bit too tight. If we had about 22bb+ I think calling is better.
