Hello everybody!
My name is Andrew. I study mathematics at university and enjoy poker as a hobby. I live in Australia and have been playing live poker for about three years now. I have read many books and have had lots of experience. I play at home games and at the local casino. Over the past year I have spent some time learning the art of online poker. I have played at party poker for a year playing both fixed limit and no limit ring games. I played my 5000 hands got my $100 bonus and cash out about $60 up.
I did not have much success. This was due mainly to the fact that I got bored easily playing tight in ring games at lower limits (even though I played four tables at a time). I am quite used to playing higher limits but am not willing to risk that kind of money online.
This week I decided to give online poker another shot but this time in the form of Sit n’ Go’s. Still at party poker I never liked the idea of paying a 20% entry fee into a $5 SnG so I started at $11 SnG. I am trying to decide if I should play speed, regular or both. Here are some of my stats so far. I have had to calculate these by hand as I do not have the luxury of and poker software. I played these three tables at a time in one set.
$11 Speed SnG
Played 21. Cashed 11.
2 x first, 3 x second, 6 x third
ROI = 34%
$11 Standard SnG
Played 14. Cashed 8
4 x first, 3 x second, 1 x third
ROI = 101%
Together
Played 35. Cashed 18
6 x first, 6 x second, 7 x third
ROI = 61%
What is a standard ROI for sit n gos? So far I see standard sng are more profitable but should I wait till I play more before until I decide on which to play? Is there any advice you can give me or comments? If you would like to know more about me or my style of play just ask. Does anybody else find these SnG on PP easy to beat?
Hope someone reads this and I didn’t waste my time. If you did, thankyou and I hope to hear back from you.
Thankyou
Andrew
