You should check the details of the site on which you play, but many sites count the rake of SNGs in the MGR, and so you can earn a significant amount of rakeback while playing SNGs.

Let's suppose you have 27% rakeback while you play $11+1 turbos. That rakeback adds 27 cents per tournament to your winnings, or 2.25%. That means your ROI increases by 2.25% due to the rakeback.

Suppose your ROI while playing $11+1s is 6%. What ROI is needed at the $22+2s to make the $24s as profitable? If you have no rakeback, then you simply need a 3% ROI at the $24s to get the same 72 cents per tournament. However, if you have 27% rakeback, then your rakeback increases from 27 cents per tournament to 54 cents per tournament as you move up. You only need to get 45 cents per tournament at the table to get 45+54=99 cents total, and 45 cents per tournament is an ROI of 1.9%. So, if your ROI at the table is 1.9% at the $24s, you will make as much as you would with a 6% ROI at the $12s.
