I thought the whole point of this game was getting someone to whove 50% of his stack with Q2o and only 10% chances of winning...
Regarding the matter at hand, I think the only advantage such a tourney would bring, is the number of players that cashout before the final table, making it easier to reach ITM. On the other hand, the big disadvantage is that the prizepool is halved ( half of the buyin goes to the prozepool and the other half to the cashout pool), so you getfaster ITM, but there is less money.
In a normal tournament, without a gtd prizepool, the bottom paid positions get about 2 buyins. In a C tournament, that position only gets half of that: about 1b-i. So, if you get there and get busted, the whole tourney is -EV for you.
I think some cashout strategy can be developped: if you cashout about 10% of the chips you win after each level (rounded to the 10% of the initial stack, of course), you might be able to cashout some or all of your buyin and still maintain a good position in the tourney, but I didn't do any math so far...

I played one today, low stakes. 10+1$ (actually, 5+5+1), 6k gtd. there were 1075 players in the tournament, the cashout pool was something around 5.3k and the prizepool 6k. The strangest thing was that ONLY 63 players were ITM (that's way less than 10%, even less than 6% of the players)
I cashed out when there were only 250 players left, I cashed out a bit over 17$ while P63 only got 15$. When I cashed out, I only had about 9k chips (had previously cashed out small abounts of chips) and the blinds were 300-600.
An objective analysis would say I didn't have much chance reaching ITM with less than 15bb and an average stack of about 25bb, let alone chasing the higher finish positions. Had it been a normal payout structure, 108 players should have been ITM, but I think that in that spot it would have been a good strategy to cashout there instead of struggle for about 7.5-10$ .

I talked with a guy last night who raised with KK on the big blind in a SNG and an UTG limper called his raise. The flop brought an ace and the the limper put out a $120 donk bet making the pot $1200. This guy decides to fold his KK and starts complaining about how PokerStars is rigged. The UTG player showed his hand K7o; a total bluff.
I told the guy he had 10 to 1 odds to call and he said that he's suffered too many bad beats over the years with KK so he always folds to a bet with an Ace on the flop.
