So today i'd started my first morning session. And i didn't like it. First because my mindset sucks, overall i think i went too early to the tables, i'm thinking on next time doing some kind of routine before.

I just woke up, brushed my teeth, streched, eat something and set down. I'm thinking about some kinda action-packed videogames for about 30-45 minutes so, because i was slow, but tbh tables were pretty slow too, some light 3-bets going on, but that's it.

All-in-all, i'm still deciding if later tonight (8pm ET) i'm gonna play a little more or head my ass off to gym, will decide later. Just giving a update on how morning was.

@skeat yeah it feels good moving up, but there's still so much to learn, and i'm still taking shots only, once i get regular on NL10 i'd be way more happy.

Pretty sick day, but a great day. After considering crashing back to NL5 if i got 2 BI stuck (overall) :f_cry:, i managed to break the day positive. I checked after every session my BR because as i'm not comfortably rolled, it's good to keep an eye once in a while i guess?. Doesn't affect my mindset though.

Even that said, it was a great day. Why? Because i made a lot of mistakes. :f_confused:.

When sweating is ofc harder to make mistakes, but after every session, i took about 10-15m break watching my hands and discussing them with myself what line would be the better. But i'm happy that i'm hitting good range reads so i can make correct plays more often.

Atm i'm actually pretty tired so i will keep short. But to keep every1 posted, there's only more 6 days left for Iron Man, and 1 to qualify for Take2 full $25 bonus. :f_biggrin:. Also tommorow rb will hit, if my PT3 isn't mistaken it will be close to another BI, we'll let's keep learning and shooting the starts.

Crazy sunday so far. Just doing a quick update.

After being down 4,5BI for the day and 2BI overall i went down from NL10 back to NL5. Looking at my results and bankroll so i don't go broke taking shots.

Kept my composure and confidence sky high, and went back to NL5 just because it's the right thing to do imho, now i went 4BI up (2 NL10 BI) and gonna take some more shots. GL to me!

Ok, just finished about 1h ago the 2nd load of the gun, and so far pretty good. Got a little ending finishing with roughly 130bb down in NL10 overall, but now up close to 33BI for NL10.

I had a live NL10 sweat scheduled for today, but we ended up turning into a online NL5 sweat, good enough, and it was cool listening to: "wow, now you're getting aggro", and i said: "no, just trying to be less nitty and pushed around". Still, a sunday full of mistakes, but a lot of good learning.

Trying every hand to try figuring out what villain has, why he is doing this and that, thinking stuff like: "what can he call me here?", "is this worth a value bet?", "why is he donkbetting now?". Focus is spot on trying to learn everything i can. - But i'm happy. I'm having fun.

On a final note. I qualified for full Take2 bonus, easy $25 bucks. And i'm also only 3 days short (50 FTP), of being eligble to Iron Man status. However i will not opt-in for showing off that chip. Just to be clear, i don't see any value in showing that off tbh, i see in bad way, like, free info? No sir, u gotta pay for it.

Just posting out that i had a sick day, down ~2BI in NL10, then i choose to move down and lost more ~6BI in NL5 on the course of the day, a sick day for me. Pretty much crushed my whole month winnings. Mostly today i just burned down my Take2 bonus + rakeback from this week and next...

I called my friend who's a fellow poker player, and he turned a big: 'stop whining', and that he'll review the biggest pots (both + and -, tommorow plus put a big sweat.

Also he offered me a great deal, that i had to take. More details on it on November, for now i'm looking forward for tommorow then, hope things turn better, just gonna watch a video or something, and dream about the day i'll be laughing from this one. So far i'm pretty much sick of my stomach.

My plans are mostly, have a decent breakfast watching some session or strategy video. Then hit the NL5 tables until work time, and see where i go from there.

hey dude, you seem to be doing good. its nice to see. While its not a major leak by any means I see your red line is a solid red slope. I just wanted to ask,

do you:

resteal much?

3bet much?

steal the blinds more than 10% of the time?

you seem kind of passive in this regard, and it could help you accumulate a lot faster

might help you out a bit. you have some tweaking you could do on the hijack and btn though methinks!

heres my stats:

take a look, but dont try to change your game over it imo. notice im only stealing from the btn around 19% of the time. a lot of this is actually a raise for thin value as I know micro stakes players do not give people enough credit, and people know its common to steal the blinds from the btn.

the hijack/cutoff ( the seat to the right of the btn) seems to get more respect!

again, Im not bluffing hugely here, but at least a third of the hands I open there are weak gappers/connectors etc.

think about how often a steal needs to be successful to turn a profit and itl all start to make sense

@conall88, thanks for tuning in. Well, i'm still playing nitty as hell imo, but if i go and look stats the only thing i do a lot, is blind stealing, although i don't go with too much crap.

Most of that red line was created on the FR, but i'm taking my time adapting to it, as that can really help me increase my bb/100 i'm sure.

Thanks for the strategy article suggestion, i'll be sure giving it another time to read it, not today though.

I wouldn't be worried about the redline, mine is quite disasterous aswell but that's just the way it goes in SH on the lower limits and it's really not much to pay attention to.

What we need to pay attention to is his overall game, and what and how we teach him to play is obviously more important then any redline imo.

And about your statement of people knowing about stealing, they really are not as aware as on NL50 for example, and I still steal loads and loads there too.

The thing about NL5/NL10 players is they think like this "Oh this guy is stealing my blinds alot, I'm gonna call." Then the flop comes, and most of them are like "Hmm, I didn't hit the flop, I better check/fold". And there you go, that's a very common scenario imo...

If not, then they'll start 3betting, and when people start 3betting on these low limits, you can easily take advantage of it as people turn into quite bad players in 3b pots and make quite some mistakes. We can either start 4betting light, in which case most poeple dont know how to play back, or just not steal as much vs them...

yeah its nothing to be worried about at all, thats why I said dont change your game etc.

But honestly i don't care about the red line, i did become a little more aggressive than when i started out SH ofc, it's still a conversion i'm doing it. Three months ago i was grinding sngs, then i moved a month later do cash games, and still converting to sh play.

Well today i went 4 BI up in NL5, small sample and i gotta say the fish here ran good, for a break. - One of those buyins actually was without SD

So today i'm heading to bed soon, gotta get ready for the deal i've made for november more details on monday. So far i'm still focusing on my October goals, and on October 30th i got a huge paper to finish for Uni so time is also short.

Break is off today, and again i went 6 BI down (NL5), and atm i'm close to 10 BI down $EV, everything seems wrong.

Huge downer of the day was 400bb deep pot against a guy playing 95/35, shoving on turn J♣6♦A♠ with J♥4♥ against my A♥A♣ - Money went in on the flop, he gets a runner runner flush.

I'm still about to play close to 60 minutes today, but i'm not sure i'm hitting the felt tbh. Week is being a pretty downer for me, crushing my whole month. On the bright side, i finished all my October goals, and got my November all set. Just need a break. :T

October Goals

• Iron Man: PASS
  Now i'm iron baby. Cleared on October 28th
• NL10 Shots: PASS
  Did them and know i have a little more knowledge on my future opponents.
• Agenda: EXEMPTED
  Still have things to fix, but it wasn't a fail. Just have to work a lot better on some issues, sleeping time as the most important of all.
• Blog Update: PASS
  I think i've managed to keep this blog always up to date. Last 3 days were hard Uni days, so i couldn't keep up.
• Take2: PASS
  Cleared! Easy.

November Goals (and Deal Benefits/Rules)
As for november, i've made a deal with a close friend, and it's going to be a hard one to cope with. As i got a week free of Cardrunners.com, i'm going to be using all the extra information i can so i can improve my game.

Goals

• Maintain my (bronze) Iron status
• Sustain myself on NL10
• Improve my agenda
• Respect my Deal

The deal is simple as follows, a friend of mine is willing to personally coach me, plus pay me up to $100 in NL10 losses if i follow simples rules:

• Play 6 out of 7 days, at least 1k hands
• Make a monthly volume of 30-50k hands
• Record everysingle session w/ audio, and send him one of them randomly (or a specific if he/i desire to) - I'll be posting some of them in the blog with English subtitles.
• Watch at least two videos week of NL10 series

So far so good, i'm going up to the felt, you guys wish me luck.

Conal, about redline (havent read almost anything that was psoted here but whatever , GL w ur Blog :))
- ur redlien goes up as u valuebet thiner and people can fold parts of their range, on lower limtis, people will call u w most parts of their range , the higher u go people will fold more (not because they are folding TPTK to a single raise ro smth but ebcause their range is actually weightened toward more marginal hands on Ts and Rs which they fold or their range ahs more bluffs which they fold as well so thats why the higher u go , the redline will go up more and more)
-> thats why with those figures he ahs sucha redline cause he plays Higher limits

Edit: About volume goal, so u want to play 1k hands a day 6 days a week (seems reasonable) and u want to play 30k hands a month?

@THESHade i'm really not concerned about the red line, i'm rly just trying to improve and get my leaks finished at all.

Atm i'm playing 4 tables, mostly because my monitor tilts me if i try putting more than that, i miss valuable information because tables get too small and it's harder for me to focus. I'm buying a wider monitor next month so i can try putting up 6 of them on my screen.

It's about 3h of play to reach that, and it's pretty reasonable for me. I'm not going to play tilted or tired just to reach the daily 1k mark, that was something that was discussed actually. But i will try to put a bigger volume, last month i've managed to do 27,5k, considering the time i have, i think it's a ok number imo.

Quick update, not only my start of the month is not going 'well' (scheduled a sweat tommorow). My Hard Drive just fucked up. So i lost the track of about ~55k hands from the beggining of the 3F (plus i had some important hands to post, and videos got all weee).

Will try to use that to my best, not sure how though. And also, my friend asked me to be posting weekly graphs just for info for you guys.

Well, that's it for the moment, i'm heading to Uni, then some work to do, and also still have to work out today. I might not play more online today, and enjoy the company of my friends on that weekly home game.

On another note, i just finished part 6 of a Veerner from Cardrunners video series on NL10, although i'm tecnically stuck ('cause i have a $100 break) i think it helped me a lot to improve my game. I've also printed out all basic/bronze/silver articles from PS and will be reading them at class #ftw

Quick update as i just had my first almost 500bb deep pot. Still shaking a little bit, it was really easy-standard to play, but it was sick seeing that much bb in for the 1st time.

Villain was playing 95/55/40 (vpip/pfr/3bet), and was a bet,bet,bet type. That's why i 4-bet minraised him, in about 30 hands before every1 that raised his 3-bets got 5-bet shove.
