Actually,to be honest,I like his play.Maybe he is a donk, but let's just put it this way.He assumes you'r a good and aggressiv player(sharkscope,PS account or just reads and observation). He could be shoving close to any 2 in this spot, maybe around 80% and you still have to call tight. While now you can go and ship it in with any pair, any ace, some SC,broadway, just a bigger percentage of hands in general.Even if he loses, which should not happen very often since he has your range dominated,he is still a midstack with around 10 bb and FE.It really depends on the blind vs blind dynamic, his image, your image etc. What I'm saying is that, this could be a good play imo in the right circumstances.

I'm changing my mind every two seconds, but i replaced big and medium stacks places, i thought the guy completing have you just little covered.
Now when i saw he is big stack i like his line again.
Limp calling aggressive shover like you as a not risk averse big stack with AJ is good.
You would fold your low pairs and mid aces, and you are definitely shoving them, even if you are suspicious over his line - admit that you would shove A9 and pocket 77 and folding when shoved on

EDIT: because i used naughty words

I'm pushing those back, yep, but I'm also calling those. This is a 70-30 6max, I want chips. Risk aversion is significantly lower than in a FR game!

Yea, I'm glad to see the discussion, my question basically was "under what circumstances is villain's play a good one", I never said I hated his line.

Yea, one more thing to consider is that he limp/stabbed me previous orbit but he didn't seem to do a lot of limp/stabs in general.

edit: check Nash here

Hey Guys!

I would like to thanks once again for reading this blog :) I love you guys and you are a great help for me - in a psychological meaning too.
I've noticed that I've stopped updating this blog properly. I've been writing about how a session went or funny hands and stuff like that but I've stopped writing down goals and summing up my achievements/failures from time to time. This is going to change, starting with this post. So, here comes my goals for October.

:spade: October Goals :spade:
:club: Play at least 500 STTs on Betfred
:club: Rake at least $1000 on Betfred
:club: Get a paid position on the Betfred October Rakerace (will probably set a more concrete goal once the race has had it's first updates, seeing where I stand).

That's about it. This will mean like ~15 hours or more playing poker a week (excluding studying, videos, hand evals, sessionreviews), which is considered low by many of you (correctly), but that's what I can do with university on for now.

:spade: First week :spade:
First week has been good, both goals have been achieved (125+ STTs, $250+ rake). I couldn't show a pre-rakeback profit tho, which is sad, but no sample. I've noticed how much better it is at nights and on weekends, I can't imagine how Mr. Demonic can skip weekends ;) (even tho that's a different network).
Oh yeah, I didn't mention: the term "week" in October will refer to a 7 day period starting on friday and ending on thursday. Weird, but it will be like this, at least in this blog :)
I promise that I will edit in a graph (it's not great) of the first week but I need to restart my pc cos HM is screwing with me. So, it will be here in like ~10mins. EDITED in :)
153 games, -$97. Really unlucky setups (my BI-graph is in a plus. Always got unlucky on $30s and lucky on $10s :P :P). But this will be better with time. $100 Rakeback got me in a nice plus three. Yay :f_biggrin:

To get back at the AJo hand, I made some calculations with ICM explorer. I think it really depends on the dynamic you guys have. If for example, he has been completing a lot in previous orbits, and you have been shoving over him a few times it's slightly different obviously. But if you shove over his limps with a somewhat 'normal' range of 40% it's meh a best. He needs a bit more than 60% equity to induce action, and with a 40% reshoving range its at 59%.

If he perceives you as a aggro monkey who shoves very wide over his completing range, something like 50%, he would have about 61% which is still not far away from the equity he needs.

I'm also not sure if he wants to induce action, because he is in the perfect position now so risking that with a marginal induce wouldn't be worth it for his future equity I think. So the conclusion is that it's quite marginal and I would just shove instead of completing to induce action.

@weekend, it's not that I never play in the weekends, it's just that my priorities are more focused on other stuff during the weekend, which often results in me having a hangover :f_biggrin:

@ Demonic: Yea, those were kinda my thoughts, except without the numbers :f_biggrin: He really has to see me as a superaggro someone capable of shoving J7o type of hands there. Or even more.

Well, I did show 53o on the second blind level after I raised pre (dont even ask :f_biggrin: ), but that wasn't against him. We didn't have much history (we can't, I've just arrived there), but I'm pretty sure I've never shown a total trash in a shove-over-limp scenario. I'm being super careful cos these guys are so stupid they can call me so wide at times.

Thanks for the opinion :) Yea I get the weekend part... :) and I was just saying that doing that on only one day will get you $$, but it's of yourse your decision :)
(maybe I said THIS in your blog and I said something else here... anyway, you get it, I get it, it's your choice:P )

p.s. graph in the october-post

Good luck with your goals, man.I'll be following your betfred journey. As for the AJ hand again...will you fold J7o if you haven't shoved over his limps the previous orbits?Because If he is just a fish, but not a crazy and stupid one,I'll go for about 50% here.J7-8o the bottom of it.

Next one kinda illustrates the avg fish here. You have to be super careful when pushing over limpers. That kinda answers kurrkabin's last question - nah, I'm way tighter than that on the bubble. I wasn't, but had to adjust to these players. Pushing over a limper is a usually very very +EV, but also a very asumptious play. K8s is still a push tho imo. But if he can't fold this hand, well... You get it.

I had this kind of an issue when I first started on the micros. It still happens from time to time, which is actually a good thing. And you are right-you have to adjust big time in order to make the best EV plays. It could be very frustrating.I remember watching Chenny 11$session review video, where a guy limped from the BU and chenny suggested that we push 70-80 % there from the BB.Imagine how bad this is vs the regular fish that limp/calls low-mid pockets,QT etc.Anyway are these the mid-stakes on the Ipoker?

I play $11s, $22s and $33s. I see stupidities on all of these limits on a huge rate, but you can def feel that there is much more like these on the $11s and less on the $33s. I can't really say which hand belongs to which limit, but the same types of ridiculous plays happen on all limits. Lot of it on $10, many on $20 abnd some on $30. Type of stupidity is more or less the same from the spewy fishes :)

You play 6max or 10max SNGs on iPoker? I can't really decide so when the traffic is good I play 10 max, but during the day when traffic is lower I fire up some 6max tables. :)

But yea atleast on the limits I've played until now ($5s and $10s) you find some pretty bad players. Not that I consider myself a good player. Need to fix sooo many leaks I have. Maybe I'll ask you for some advice sometime. :P

Villain's an MT. Now at first this looked a very bad play to me, but at second I'm not exactly sure. I mean I kinda think that it's not a good play vs me, but question is: How aggro does villain have to perceive me in order for this to be a good limp/call? Is it possible? How much do you think he expects that I shove when he makes this move?
Thanks a lot :)

I think this is just bad. It is never a good move. At this spot, it is a clear atc shove spot for him (or 90%), so I would definitely use this abuse image and shove even AA, coz every other play is too suspicious. I also think it might produce reverse effect thn he intends - he wants us to shove lighter thn call his shove. Lets say we have A5. I would snap call his shove if he s like normal atc shoving reg. When he limps I would be like...wtf dude? And I would check behind and play that super super safe. I woul do that safe way maybe even with A9, AT, dont know...would shove pairs - not the best result for him.
TO answer your question - it is never a good limp/call coz it is super obvious I would be surprise to see after I shove AK, that he has only AJ ;)

@Tici: I'm a FR player but I'm playing 6max as there is absolutely no traffic on the $20 and $30 FRs on iPoker usually :(
Once got a $20 FR started. I frakin' shipped it _biggrin:

You find same idiots on higher limits, just in smaller numbers maybe :)

@Milan: You I agree. I def wouldn't trap anything there. And I def flinched before shoving AK. Obv I wasn't gonna fold it but I was also like "wtf?" and yep I might've checked the bottom of my callingrange. Maybe I reship a few SCs with which I don't call, maybe not.

These are the type of hands which sink my EV-line below the toilet. Still, forgive me for somehow not feeling "lucky" in this hand :) Or do I have a mindset problem? _confused:
