..in the future I'm certain I'll try..

You go for it! :f_cool:

PLO10 doesn't look too good for me. 1800 hands and i'm allready ~7 buy-ins behind EV.
-16bb/100 when EV is 21bb/100. Maybe PLO5 is the highest level i'm ever going to play.. _frown:

At very last moment a little bit better session in PLO10. ~400 hands and 4 buy-ins up so i can continue playing PLO10 at least for a while.

Fooling around

This is a reg-battle + BvB. I'm quite sure that he knows ~1/2 pot cbets paired tab and stuff like that so when he c-raises, it could mean many things. I decided to click-it-back and see how does he like that. If he have KKxx/K9xx it's not difficult him to continue, but even with 9xxx he have to at least think twice. I assume that he'll call that minraise even with FD, so my plan is to bet ~1/2 pot also turn if it's not 3rd :diamond:. Turn is (almost) a brick so i bet and he folds.

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 Pot Limit Omaha Cash, 6 Players

SB: $18.89 (188.9 bb)
BB: $18.37 (183.7 bb)
UTG: $10 (100 bb)
MP: $20.75 (207.5 bb)
CO: $11.23 (112.3 bb)
Hero (BTN): $10 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with A 3 4 T
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.25, SB calls $0.20, BB folds

Flop: ($0.60) 9 9 K (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.30, SB raises to $1.10, Hero raises to $1.90, SB calls $0.80

Turn: ($4.40) 2 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $2, SB folds

Results:$4.40 pot ($0.19 rake)
Final Board: 9 9 K 2
SB mucked and lost (-$2.15 net)
Hero mucked A 3 4 T and won $4.21 ($2.06 net)

Not sure about this..

Reg vs reg again. BB is a fish and this guy didn't cbet too much so i didn't see anything wrong in calling.

When he cBets i'm sure he have something. Maybe i could raise and make him fold TP but i was bit scary because of the really low cBet% so i decided just call.

Turn is a hit so of course i have to bet. It's a board where i could easily float so i hoped that his calling range is bit wider that normally you would assume.

River pairs the board and villain bet out. I almost leveled myself for calling but ended up to fold. IMO either he cbet flop with set (2pairs) or FD so there is a chance that he could turn his lower flush in bluff. But yeah, i decided to fold but still not sure..

CO: $10 (100 bb)
Hero (BTN): $12.67 (126.7 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q Q K 2
2 folds, CO raises to $0.30, Hero calls $0.30, 2 folds

Flop: ($0.75) 6 4 A (2 players)
CO bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50

Turn: ($1.75) 7 (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $1, CO calls $1

River: ($3.75) 4 (2 players)
CO bets $2.70, Hero folds

Hero mucked Q Q K 2 and lost (-$1.80 net)

250 hand played and little bit over one buy-in up so nothing special. Only thing worth of mention is that even i check and double chek it, i somehow managed to misread my AKK4 as AAKK and went eventually all-in pre-flop.
Don't remember nothing similar happened for ages. Well, that's poker.

Micro Millions is starting but unfortunately i'm going to miss most of the tournaments.
I propably can play Stud, Razz and some PLO's, but Stud HiLo, H.O.R.S.E, 8-game, Omaha HiLo and all the other fun stuff is no-no for me.. _frown:
Well, hopefully my next week includes lots of different kind of big fishes and of course a lot of ice cold beer! :f_cool:

Last night i played Micro Millions Event #13 Stud. First 30 mins went just fine but after that it turned to 7th street terror. 2-pairs get sucked out twice (once only with one out) at very last street and i have to fold aces two times before the end.

After 1,5 hour i was already steaming and when cards were all the time some J62r, i found tv and internet to be much more interesting. I just hit the fold every now and then when the table popped to the screen. Finally i got kings but that 7th street gave villain 2-pairs and i was practically out. I still had few blinds but i just turn the software off.

Today i had ok session in PLO. 200+ hands with 3,5 buy-in profit. I'll take that any day. ;)

Now it's time to start packing. I'll be back at the end of the next week. Have fun at the tables! :f_cool:

I'm back!

Week at the contryside went just fine. I got a two really nice perches but all the pikes were just pathetic. If i say that biggest of them weighted around 200-300g i'm not terribly wrong. Of course the lake was completely unknow for me so the fishing was like zooming without HUD:

Zooming: Play solid poker and choose carefully the hands you're going to play.
In fishing: Use the lures (plugs) that has been proven to work.

Zooming: Put the volume in.
In fishing: Row all around the lake.

Zooming: Hope that big fish takes your bait.
In fishing: Hope that big fish takes your bait.

->Profit

Building festivals was as hard work as i remember it was.
From monday to friday we build it up and few days we just have to work around 12-14 hours. Everything was done like 15 mins before gates were opened so not a minute too soon.

Friday and saturday i just drinked beer and watched bands. It was really fun to go in the "demolition-party" at sunday with terrible hangover. Luckily that disease goes away with the same medication what caused it, so eventually even that day turned up just fine. :f_thumbsup:

Last week i did absolutely nothing. Yesterday i played some tournaments and make few bucks profit. Today or tomorrow i try to go back to the cash tables. I probably start with PLO5 just to get hang of it and move up to the PLO10 whenever (if ever) i feel like it.

Here are the results from July:

Thanks Frankie! :f_thumbsup:

My first session in cash games was quite long (for me), over 1,5 hours. Funny thing was that before the session i knew there's a risk that i might play a bit too loose because of the three week break. And what happened, i played too loose pre-flop and try to win too many pots which caused me to try too many bluffs. Maybe i really need to work my mental game also..

After i realize that (in tables also), i started to tighten up my game a little bit and after that it felt much more better. Despite of my lousy start i managed to gain 2+ buy-in profit. Mostly because i get the money in with good equity (avg all-in 61,5%) an lost only 1/4 all-ins.

Sometimes they actually DO fold

Villain was quite LAGish who c-betted way too much. He also liked to bomb the turns if table was even somewhat ok for that. Because of that i got a feeling that he might be straight from those lame Hold'em games..

But otherwise he was quite straightforward player so when he didn't have that strong hand and table turned to bad, he knew how to fold. Beside of that, i had really tight image.

Villains range is still quite wide on the flop so my aces might be good. I just decided to call the flop and see what he is going to do on the turn.

FD completes and villain checks. One option is check behind and see if i can get to the showdown. But on the other hand, if he don't have ~air, he have decent amount of equity. On the contrary i should have nice amount of FE if i bet and since i didn't want to give him free chance to realize his equity, i decided to bet. Villain calls which is somewhat worrying, but he do have sets and maybe some weak flushes in his range so i didn't see any other way but fire out the river also

Villain showed Q :diamond: after folding the river. Don't know did he really folded 2nd nuts, but i'm happy with the outcome anyways. :f_grin:

i'm playing PLO10 on stars, my sn is SamRoss88.

Serious question; when do you opt to leave a table.

I see you are posting hands which involve playing TAGs, but considering there are plenty of tables where you won't have a pain in the ass sitting to your immediate left, wouldn't being a bit more selective of your table help a lot ? :)

ideal table is when you have a passive whale to your left, aggressive fish to his left, and then position on the regs. Or sometimes you hit the motherload and sit with 5 fish. _love:

:)

regarding the KQQ2 hand, when you donk the turn there, you define your range a lot. Considering lowering your betsizing will not accomplish much in keeping villains range wide and weak, I think you may want to bet bigger on turn to charge him for the rivercard.

I'm curious. Do me a favour. I have a leak, i'm wondering if its a common trend, so might be worth checking your database.

go to your positional stats. Filter your results for 2-3 handed. then filter for 4-6 handed. Do you see much of a difference in winrates?

It seems i'm crushing 2-3 handed, but then throwing lots away 4-6 handed.
I guess i'm not selective enough with my turn barrels and maybe a bit too loose pre in CO...

Hi conall88, thanks for writing here! :)

I'm quite selective with the tables even the hands i post here could say something else.
Probably the main reason is that against fishes playing is very straightfoward: I bet for value if i have the goods, if i got something weaker/air, i don't bet/bluff.
So basically hands worth of posting is when they call with something stupid or when they suck out. I don't see that much "forum value" in those, so i try to post only even remotely interesting hands and allmost allways the more interesting spots come up when i play against regs/TAGs.

If there's a huge fish (or two) at the table i'm not too afraid the other regs. if my position is good, i usually stay at the table. If the table start to look too tight or something, i leave the table quite quickly.

I think you have a point there (KQQ2). Sometimes i have a tendency to leveling myself or the villain's capabilities and that can sometimes lead me to a very strange actions. If the villain's cBet range is quite strong, i should use that information and bet bigger.

I don't know did i filtered those spots right, but here are the numbers:

Less than 4 players: 70bb/100, EV 96bb/100

Greater than 3 players: Winrate 85bb/100, EV 73bb/100

My sample isn't that big, only bit over 90k hands starting from 1.1.2013 so also many things have happened in my game since then.

Thanks guys! :f_thumbsup:

Last week has been somewhat difficult. I'm 1 buy-in up/1,5k hands so of course it could be much worse.
I just have lost like 80% of small pots. 7/10 flop missed totally, and 2/10 i flop something like pair+g-shot/BDFD and stuff like that. Because of that i've occasionally become a little bit frustrated and have played a bit too loose pre-flop and too aggressive post-flop. If something positive have to say, i completed 10$ Stellar reward and won one flip at the Summer Challenge tournament.

Yeah b/e stretches can be pretty frustrating, but nothing to do except go through them playing your best, so you're ready when a heater comes :) glgl

Last session was quite good (350 hands/2+ b-i up) so maybe i go back to PLO10 in case the heater is coming..

I think mentally i wasn't at my best and i played maybe my ~B+ game. Occasionally i just tried to do some weird moves and sometimes i didn't fight for the pots as hard as i should have. There is just too much crap going on in my life so it's was a bit difficult to keep the focus on the game all the time. But when you get the good cards, you can win even if you're not playing your A-game. :f_grin:

It's never a bad idea to rep r-r flush

Or was the maniac betting for value..?

AAxx?

This is somewhat weird hand. TAG 3-bets so it should be high cards/big pair.
But i just don't understand why he calls two streets and folds to the river. He should never have 76xx and he can't believe that i could have r-r trips.
I don't know..

Playing with B-game (at best) continues. I have pretty much forced myself to play and like many of you allready know, when someone does that, results aren't usually too good. This time i've been lucky enough to break-even after ~450 hands.

Here's few hands to admire..

Going crazy in 3-Bet pot vol. I

Don't have too much information about villain, so far 70/50/16 hands.

If he thinks my 3-bet is AAxx, he shouldn't call flop with anything but straight.
If we assume that this is the case, i guess the safest bet is to rep r-r straight..

Going crazy in 3-Bet pot vol. II

This is zoom no information about villain.

If he thinks my 3-bet is AAxx, he shouldn't call flop with anything but trips/boat or wrap.
If we assume that this is the case, i guess the safest bet is to fire 2nd barrell when straight gets there and check-call the river..

Yesterday i played too long session. I know i should allways quit playing after ~60 minutes because after that i usually can't keep my focus on game anymore. Sometimes i can play my A-game even two hours at the time but that happens maybe like four times a year. I guess i'm not that much of an grinder..
:f_frown:

Yesterday wasn't that time of year but since there was 2-3 huge fishes in two tables, i just kept on playing. I should at least close all the other tables but for some reason i didn't do so. Suddenly i started to call too loose, 3-bet too much and also calling too many 3-bets with not so good hands thinking that i can somehow make PLO5 players fold their aces.. _evil:
I had really nice start to the session but eventually i ended up around one buy-in down.

This day went little bit better and i managed to make ~1/2 b-i profit.

Couldn't find any interesting hands but i'll post one just for the fun.

Problems with image?

I guess villain thinks that i might 3-bet some other hands than just AAxx. Otherwise there aren't that much sense in his shove. He could have 2xFD but still there shouldn't be any reason for shove if he thinks i 3-bet only aces. Well, at least from now on i can use it against this guy.. ;)
