Figured that a high % of hands that he calls on the flop, ie flush and straight draws, got there on the turn, so figured best to check, if he had an overpair or some sort of 9x i figured he would bet bigger to protect from the flush and straight, so thought best to fold?

Well a straight would be J8 or 68. Do you think he will raise that? There is a big difference between his vpip and pfr, so I put him rather on a Ax, Kx or any PP. It could be that he has x 
x but nothing indicates that. Any TP hand will call the flop and tbh if someone donk/checks to me I would bet as well. So he could be betting with a TP kind of hand.
If you really fear the turn I still rather bet/fold it. I just think check/folding is soo weak for our hand. But I might be wrong as well =D This is just how I would've played it.

hello buddy, If you think about it logically the board isnt that wet for his range, hes opened in the CO, do you think he would open with T8? plus with JJ you block two of his outs for an OESD, and a lot of combos for possible gut shots, which just leaves the possible flush draw, i dont mind the donk on the flop but as played id never check the turn after donking the flop, you can get value from his draws, so id say b/f the turn as said

Had a tough time playing poker this last week, think im on abit of a downswing, maybe its just variance, and when this happens i get very demotivated and lack volume tbh..

Another one of my wat seems to be monthly updates haha
Been grinding less this past month and abit as ive been fairly busy at uni etc, lots of assignments, just finished for study leave, which for me means grind time and going out etc..
Guna post my graph for the past month and abit, the basically breakeven part is me attempting (and failing ♦) to play zoom, so i decided to switch back to regular nl5 SH tables and had a nice end to the month/start to this month.
Not really happy with my play at zoom, loved the volume, really helps when your busy and have little time, but i just could'nt adjust properly, since moving back to normal tables ive hit abit of an upswing which always helps, fairly happy with my nl5 sh game right now, roll is about $200 so guna try shoot nl10 within the next month. Hopefully i havent doomswitched myself posting the graph ♦
Not really a suprise to see no1 posting as i will admit myself this blog is pretty boring and lack luster atm ♦
Dont really mind as im just using this to track my progress really, so i can hopefully someday look back at where it all began and my thoughts along the way..
So this month ive basically finished uni, not really been grinding enough as id liked, not really done as much revision as id of liked, only got 2 exams so not too bad, one on thursday and then one next monday, altho first year of uni you only need like 40% to make it too the next year, so not really too worried tbh as ive probs already got enough with coursework alone.
Anyway because ive been pretty lazy this month, although i now feel comfortable with my game at nl5 sh, and have had a few shots at nl10, playing ok but im -1BI at nl10, obv could of gone better but overall im happy with that tbh So, as i was saying because ive been lazy this month, and i have basically all of next month free apart from working the odd days here and there, im setting myself a MASSIVE challenge for me, which is to acheive at least gold star VIP status on stars.
Because im lazy and cba working out my VPPs per hand etc, im going based on the pokerstars website, which says i would need roughly 29k hands at nl10 sh to acheive gold star, alot of people may think, ok 29k hands in one month, easy game. But for me i think the most hands ive ever played in one month is like 16k, on regular tables obviously, the graph i posted before this only had so many hands because i was trying out zoom, but have decided against zoom for myself and so i have gone back to regular tables, to hopefully work on my game and improve, which i think for me atm is more important.
Im saying gold star minimum, as i think at nl10 sh platinum star is just too far outta my reach, going by stars website i wud need roughly 75k hands in June, this combined with hopefully nice weather, more going out and the Euro Championships means im probs not guna acheive this, also i dont wanna alter my game in order to increase volume, also i dont wanna play when it may be -EV for me, ie not many fish.
Sorry for the wall of text if anyone actually managed to get even half way through, kinda enjoyed writing this as it gave me a clear indication in the direction i want to be heading.

Nice progress you're making. I'm in a similar situation poker-wise. This is my first month hitting nl10 exclusively, trying to hit gold VIP too :).
I've also looked at the stars site that says 29k hands a month. I kinda believe this to be slightly wrong for me though, I've worked out I would need around 90k hands (~2hours each day) on zoom a month. Probably due to my nittier style 
haha. should be pretty easy for you now you've finished uni.

yhyh i think you need more hands for zoom because you will get less VPPs per hand, not sure how many less but probs alot because people play alot nittier etc ♦.
Im planning on sticking to regular tables so will hopefully only need like 29k hands, although may take me a while as i only usually play 4-6 tables at a time, probably 4 most of the time to help me concentrate on adjusting to nl10.

Seems quite shocking that i'd need more than 3 x more than what their site predicts 
If you put 29k hands on the VIP calucator it only comes back with ~2k VPPs per month haha, obv need to update their calculations.
Anyways, thats the reason i love zoom so much, around 1.5k hands per hours

Been fairly busy lately with exams etc, one more exam left monday afternoon then done for lyk 4 months ♦ 
Guna use a reload bonus next month, so will deposit liek $100 to which i should get a 100% reload bonus, which i should hopefully be able to grind out next month at nl5/10, along with hopefully gold status and profits should be an exciting month for me as ill finally have alot of time to play poker.
Been talking on skype with a mate and we decided to try learn Hyper HUSnGs together, been playing the $1.50s on stars, and safe to say, im a complete noob at Hyper HUSnGs, heres the slightly embarrasing graph although as i understand this is a very small sample as a lot of variance is involved, but still i think i have no idea about them..:
Deciding whether or not to carry on with them tbh.. started as a bit of fun, then we decided to try learn some strategy etc, obv my main game is still 6max, but these may be good to play when the games arent as fishy, if thats possible at the micros/when the waiting lists are too big.
Just had a very tilty session, ended up -3BIs, pretty poor play from me with some bad luck, which induced tilt, pretty dissappointed i tilted.
Anyway onwards and upwards, decided to register for a few micro buy-in tournies as i wanna carry on playing but i think i may tilt again if i play more cashgames.

Finished uni now as i had my last exam today, so happy to finish for the year :), looking forward to hopefully playing alot more poker in the coming months, going to still grind nl5/10 SH, but im also going to put alot of effort into learning Hyper HUSNGs, recently discovered them and i think im hooked 
Obv still a fish at them, down about $10 overall on the $1.50s on stars, im winning at the normal speed HUSNGs, but average game time is tooo long i feel i start losing concentration etc, although i feel i may have a bigger edge as more postflop play is involved.
Any advice on nl5/10 SH is welcomed, also and advice on Hyper HUSNGs, or HUSNGs in general is very much appreciated
