except that i was already cursing before the river call.
SB was clearly a maniac and interestingly enough BTN is a LAGreg .. albeit not a good one.
4 hours of play i calculated it to (didn't sleep at all last night until 8 am to 12 noon.) trying to play my best and to end in profit. I should be happy. But im not even happy or mad or sad. This has got to be the longest in amount of time for 1 day ive played poker for months. or close to it, im too mentally exhausted .. Time for bed.
I sat in my last session (-$15 to +$5) with a maniac. he capped all streets with K3o high ♦ and stuff like that it was insane.

Here is a few goodies from the bag against said maniac.

After he noticed I ran good against him and I wouldn't fold any pair (called bot pair down and won ♦) he went passive so I had to do the betting so that was a great table.. Not in the start though was like -$6 but went to +$11 because of him ♦
well played suckers. really well played
got second pair K9o for a pair of 9s , fish reg calls and donks harmless turn and i call 8 river and he shows 88
and thats just some of it. maniac capped with 45o and i had 33 and flop a set. he backdoor straights me.

38 to 45% w$sd with a wtsd of 41% .. im always astonished that you can for a whole hour experience nothing but bullshit over and over again, while other times its hours of pure bliss. so messed up.. both parts.
After a well rested day i am back in business lets see if we can play some excellent poker again.
So reason for lack of updates is that im working very hard on my game and playing (less than studying honestly) and i decided to try the 1 look a week on the results to see if it can help with my emotions.. Right now im just eager to see my results. kind of like wanting a cigarette and you cant get it.
I apparently am that addicted to monitoring my results per day.. So far im hanging in there .. so i removed everything that was W$SD (so i can't whine it being 30%) BB/100 and Net Won tabs and my graph tab so i don't "accidentally" click on it..
anyway i just played a cool session very aggressive lol
and this 1 guy who was playing 80/2/1 over my sample lost a few big pots against me in a row and then this hand happened. I was sure he was tilting away so i just calmly called down. maybe not the best idea ever to do so but given the circumstances that he began 3betting every hand after that I knew it was the right choice ♦ I can't imagine how much he must be raging right now.

First shot at 0.5/1 didn't go so well, honestly it was more of a trial run to see the player field. sat with a fish who kept running good .. for example i flopped a FH and he proceeded to backdoor better FH me..
on another table a maniac ran really hot like wtsd 80 w$sd 75 something. last hand before the table broke aka him leaving was this hand... I put my faith in my AA and..

obviously this hand was a bit overplayed but the guy had capped 73o into 4 people. seriously. took a leap of faith and this time it didn't bite me in the ass.
incredible how many fish that are playing and so few regs. can't wait to shoot some more perhaps with a bit bigger br. I hit 475 and decided to try .. I was originally wanting to shoot at $500 so its fine
gonna play 25/50c as usual tomorrow and going to hit probably 500 - 600 before shooting again.

decided to play some 25/50c... Lets just say today hasn't been perfect im currently -$86 :/ so that sucks. ran really bad all night/day long. Im super annoyed and sad but I don't think I played bad other than maybe a few pots vs a maniac earlier. oh well now im back under $400 again. so 25/50c grind is on.. I also turned my +$50ish into a -$20 ish profit for the month. So super start of the day..
Luckily im reaching 1800 ELO on chess.com soon.
just wanted to share hand of the day

the AKo guy was a fishreg or rather a nit (i cant imagine him being a winner)
UTG obviously was the fish
anyway what i wanted to add was that if i were the AKo guy i probably would have folded turn. I simply can't imagine my TP+TK being good against 2 players who show so much strength. obv flop is cool. hmm.. it sucked for him definitely but yeah.

Hey Ava,
As always enjoying watching your progress and from my perspective way down at the foot of poker mountain, interested in learning more from those like you further ahead the road....
So with that in mind, I hope you don't mind me asking what may be an obvious question - if you had been the villain in the SB, what would have been your line here? Clearly he over did it with his capping and so on but from the flop onwards, what would you do if you were him? Would you at least bet out like he did on the flop or check raise?
And once the opponent (that is you of course) had shown that he's not backing down, would you then just check call the turn and river?
As I say, sorry if it's an obvious answer but I was intrigued as holding something like KJo and top pair is often when I struggle
Cheers!

Hey Charlie..
Don't worry no bad questions only bad answers so I would like to give it my all its not a bad answer given.
Honestly in my head the hand should have gone like this
preflop standard he should just call though. no reason to cap KJo especially when your opponent is not being too aggressive or too tight (I was like 34/28/13 on that table.)
flop considering we say he called preflop instead of capping then it should have either been check raise call 3bet and check call down turn and river
or check call check raise turn / call down if raised..
that seems to be the way to go for our opponent here. your basically hoping your opponent has TT - AQ - AK no flush draw (since river should spark some action by the river getting there) thats my error in this hand i overdid it like he did. i didn't consider the board since there are numerous straight draws and flush draw.. I played this hand worse than he did.. Simply because I am a better poker player than he is and I should know not to go crazy. if it had been against any other slightly similar to a reg I would have lost this hand 100% unless he went crazy with KK... So point is . Don't do this at home it was a very badly played hand.
from my perspective i should have played more like this
preflop standard
flop cap
bet/3bet > call down if he raises again. otherwise bet river and expect to see a TP AJ - KK call river if he raises he either got the flush or straight or QQ
so currently my br is at 350 now :/ so yeah what is it -$125 downswing. kinda sucks. So taking a break today and perhaps the next 2 days ill be playing lower ( 5/Tc most likely) purely to get my composure and mind back on track. So i can move forward again.
Hey
I am on a break to much work i will be back next week on skype
plaese do not play at my tables ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦
Hey Ava,
Thank you for running through your thinking on the above hand. That's a great help and phew, a relief to know that it's basically what I would have done
Hope you ease yourself back into the swing of things with an up not a down!
Keep calm and composed...and carry on!
All the best,
Charlie

Hi ava, how are you? How's poker? glgl
as you can read i just had probably whats close to my biggest ds in terms of dollars lately so i basically shaved off quite a bit % of my roll. Not feeling too well about it still. So taking a few days break. Not too long though otherwise id get uncomfortable again and I don't want that. I want to grind 25/50c and get some profit
hands needed though.
