I have been hanging around here for long enough so it’s time to give you the chance to follow my progress and to make a step towards more commitments on my side. I am not a blogger so here it is for the craic! Before jumping into poker stuff I’ll introduce myself: Background I’m a 27 years old French fellow and have been living in Dublin for the past 5 years. I’m an R&D engineer working for a small start up. We are working on new energy technologies. I have really enjoyed working for this company and that’s also how I discovered poker since we used to play from time to time after work with few beers in the conference room &diams;. Generally speaking I love sports. When I don’t play Football I watch a good bit of it! Go on Marseille! I play badminton in a league and occasionally I play tennis, golf (big fish in these last two) ...oh I am just back from a skiing holiday... I also used to play chess quite a lot in when I was young until I realized that there were other things worth experimenting in life :). Still I managed to get over 2300 elo. And last but not least I also quite like to play the national sport here: Guinness in the pub! All right let’s stop with this boring introduction and let’s talk about poker: Poker I have played poker for about 3 years and registered to PS 2 years ago. The more I play the more I love this game. Compared to chess that I play at a decent level I find it much more creative and dynamic. I also think that chess will give me a solid base (many similar skills in both) on which I will build my poker career. I am playing cash games seriously only since July 2010, playing NL 25 SH. In September I moved up to NL50 and have played 60k hands since to be at 1 bb/100 win rate X(. I haven’t played that much in January and I was more looking to understand a bit better why I am not winning more. And I believe I have somehow found out: I am not thinking enough in term of ranges. I do in fact but not always and this not always costs me money! I also find a bit difficult to muck my good hands from time to time (kind of related to the range thing). I am pretty confident that I can beat this limit at a more decent rate if I am concentrated 100% on the game every single time I play and also think in ranges ranges ranges!! Short Term Plan: [] Play 15k hands a month (I play 4 tables at a time) [] Register to DC or CR and watch 2, 3 videos a week. Btw which one is the best CR or DC? [] Do not watch PT3 graph during session [] Post hands in Hands Evaluation Forum (I do it on regular basis already so should be ok) Long Term Plan: Make it big!

Now I have to say it was a bit cheeky to post that hand like this.
Here is what really happened: last night ipoker has some server issues and we got disconnected from it several times for several seconds. It happened in this hand on the flop. I came back on the table and noticed he insta check the river when I checked back the turn so I figured he was sit out and bet 1bb on the river.

I wanted to post that hand to discuss what you would have done in this case?
Check back the river and play it fair or bet 1bb like I did?
