When considering defending 2nd or 3rdPair on the turn, we have to consider how clean is our kicker.
I am making progress towards my original goal. My bankroll has increased to EU 500 by now.

Congrats. Amazing perseverance. Well done.
TurnTactics Part 2. We are the coldcaller and we face a 2nd barrel
Exemples to learn to think about our ranges on the turn
On a Q72 4 R turn, we don't have many semibluffhands. So we don't have to be afraid that we have too many semibluffs in our x/r-range.
On a 852 T double 2suited turn, we have a lot of draws. So we have a whole bunch of semibluffs in our x/r-range. Much more than valuehands.
So on this spot we have to move some of our semibluffs to our x/c-range.
I am studying a video from Lucky Luck. Nuts and bolts, flop play in current climate.
Versus a passive opponent we can check back thin value and if he bets the turn we fold.
Because versus passive players we can often check and go until showdown with our thin value. Because they only bet on the turn if they have something decent.
But versus a more aggressive opponent we call down if he bets on the turn, after we checked back on the flop.
Capping our range and villains range
We have to think about when we or our villain apparently have a capped range.
Barrelling
1 Plan your hand for future streets/actions. When we cbet, think beforehand what we will do if villain raises.
2 Which turns and river are we going to barrel and why.
3 If villain floats often, we can either cbet less or do cbet but then also 2ndbarrel with a higher frequency.
4 Which hands will villain fold on the turn after he called the flop?
5 How does villain perceive our range? Or is he a player who doesn't even think about this? Is he a scared-money-player?
6 Targeting villains.
7 Barrelling " bad" turncards, these are cards that in the classic theory were not good for a 2ndbarrel.
Versus competent villains who float a lot, this move can work. They can give up their hand.
If the turn is a classic scarecard we can 2ndbarrel, but with the plan to 3rdbarrel as well. Our goal is to fold out midstrength hands.
8 Versus competent opponents our image and assumptions become important.

Capped Ranges
1 Random recr players won't think about capped ranges.
If a flop is wet, in general if someone has a set he will bet for protection. Traditionally if we put someone on a capped range, we attack.
2 and 3 We attack for 2 streets if we are sure that his range is capped. Think about the stage of the TN and the stackdepths.
4 From case to case we have to judge if opp is aware of his capped range and how hard he will protect his range.
And judge how hard we will protect if we check and expect that opp will attack us.
Are we going to protect 1 street or the whole way through.
5 Overshoves like 1,5 pot on river. This way we can put a lot of pressure and folding out midstrength-hands.

Bluff-raising the flop
1 Quasi-bluffing. the difference with semi-bluffing is that we have less drawing-equity. So for quasi-bluffing you need more foldequity.
For example if we are on the BB and we x/r a flop that connects not enough to float. You need to select your targets if you do this quasi-bluf-x/r.
2 Airballing-x/r
For example on monotone flops, where people cbet too much and give up way too much.
For example on very dry flops.
If flop is not dry, you need to have some connection. And think about which turncards you can barrel after your airball-x/r.
3 Leverage play
4 Expectations and wetness. If you x/r a dry flop, you will get less credit in general.
5 If your opp is a sticky reg and the flop is wet, it is no use to airball-x/r.
6 How do we react if a reg is x-raising us?
Lucky likes to take the line x/c, x/c and evaluate on the river versus agro regs.
Sometimes versus very aggro's Lucky goes to showdown even with Ahigh. But is a guessing game.
TurnTactics Part 4 Semi-bluff mechanics by W34z3l
We have to compare the EV of semibluff with the EV of checking.
EV of semibluff can be positive.
But if the EV of checking is higher, then check is better than bluff.
W34z3l put various hands/spots in Cardrunners and compares the different outcomes.
If we are OOP and we check there is a chance that opp will take a stab. Therefor our check-EV OOP is lower than our check-EV IP.
Therefor OOP a semibluff will be more profitable than IP. (because we compare it with the lower check-EV)
OOP we need less foldequity than IP.
Wzl put Ftoturnbet=20 into Cardrunners. And even with this low Ftoturnbet the semibluf-EV is higher than the check-EV.
Conclusion: if opponent is sticky and will hardly fold, IP it is not worthwhile to semibluff, but OOP it is.
What Wzl stipulates over and over again is that we are not interested in the absolute semibluf-EV, but in the relative semibluff-EV to the check-EV.
I am studying Power Lines IP by W34z3l
The thing I struggled with in 2017 is that I study a lot of videos, but when I implement the theory into my game, it often doesn't bring the results that I expected.
Maybe it has to do with finetuning the spots.
In 2018 I will continue with the videos and studying.
I will play 20 hours a week.
Last week I played a live tournament. It is very nice to be among pokerplayers and talk about the game.
So in 2018 I will play once in a while a live tournament. And I will study about MTT and Push/fold-situations. This is to broaden my horizon, not only playing cashgames.
I wish you all a happy newyear and a good pokeryear.
Power lines IP by W34z3l
The strong lines that W34z3l teaches us are:
1 Flopfloatbet, mz 70%
2 Turnfloatbet, mz 70%
3 Riverfloatbet, mz 50%. Don't be afraid to pull the tricker on the river. Often when you think about what hands villain cannot have, you see that his range is capped. And when we pull the tricker IP, it will be very hard for him to xcall.
With a valuehand like a set bet a quite large size, for the times that he does call. Even though he will often fold.
With a bluffhand bet a nomal size and think about the 62% of the times that we will get a fold.
4 Delayed cbet, this is one of W34z3l's favourite lines. Mz 70%.
5 Stop & Go = bet check bet
This line we use when we don't pick up equity on the turn.
On the river it is not so very important what we represent, esp versus an unknown. We reckon with 62% of the times to get a fold.
In the example W34z3l did an overbet with the 3rd suit arriving on the river. And got a fold.
The important lesson is that we learn to pull the tricker on the river with bluffhands.
Finetuning is to learn when NOT to execute these default lines. Versus villains that don't fold enough.
I started with the powerlines. Yesterday it didn't increase my winrate.
Because the amount that I loose when they DON't fold, is bigger than the amount that I win when they DO fold.
There were too many callingstations that call with f.e. 4th pair on the river.
So I need to improve my finetuning.
Yesterday the Stop & Go line was successful 2 times.
But I lost money versus a slowplayer who I flopfloatbetted. I picked up equity on turn, so I betted again.
Then I miss the river, what to do? I 3rdbarreled, hoping to make him fold his 2ndPair. But he called with his 2ndPair.
This are spots that I loose my money.
Negreanu sets goals in terms of results. That he will win tournements. And that he will reach a top in a ranking.
So I have to add some goals for this year in terms of results.
My profit at the moment is EU600 and my goal is to have a profit of EU1800 at the end of the year.
Negreanu: " but I’m a big believer in setting hard to reach goals.”
So I have to set my goals higher. My hard to reach goals:
My profit is EU 3000 at the end of the year, that means on average per month EU 200.
Meet a nice pokerbuddy and move to a quiet non-attached house with a nice garden.
Update for week 1: I played 20 hours. But unfortunately didn't meet the results that I wanted. I was break even.
Many floaters and 3bettors. I have to learn how to defend versus them.
I finished a webinar about valuebetting after isolating.
In a $8,80-satellite I won a $44 ticket for the Powerfest.
But unfortunately in that $44-satellite I didn't reach the money. There were 50 $215-tickets.
I will try it again this week.
I am studying about differences in lines as prf-aggressor in SRP if you are IP or OOP.
OOP with TP and not so good kicker we x/c instead of cbet. And for the whole hand we x/c maximum 2times.
On the turn if the 3 suit arrives and we have only TP without a good kicker, we x/f.
Because opponent can have called prf with a suited connector.
Differences in lines as prf-aggressor in SRP if you are IP or OOP.
If we only have an OC or a GS:
OOP we x/c and x/f on the turn.
If opponent doesn't 2ndbarrel, we can bet the river.
IP we check behind and if he probebets turn small, we raise.
If he checks the turn, we bet turn and river
