I am sorry to hear that Gerv, but i think it won't make any difference if you switch from Stars. It's the same in any poker room. You got sucked out too many times i guess? What happened.

I am on break currently cause my play skills decreased a lot since a huge downswing.

[x] But your Luck runs out....

Still you run, what's to come?
What's today?

'Cause we hunt you down without mercy
Hunt you down all nightmare long
Feel us breathe upon your face
Feel us shift, every move we trace
Hunt you down without mercy
Hunt you down all nightmare long, yeah
Luck. Runs.

You crawl back in
But your luck runs out

Luck. Runs. Out.

The light that is not light is here
To flush you out with your own fear
You hide, you hide, but will be found
Release your grip without a sound

Hallucination
Heresy
Still you run, what's to come?
What's today?

'Cause we hunt you down without mercy
Hunt you down all nightmare long
Feel us breathe upon your face
Feel us shift, every move we trace
Hunt you down without mercy
Hunt you down all nightmare long
Luck. Runs.

You crawl back in
But your luck runs out

Then you crawl back in
Into your obsession
Never to return
This is your confession

Hunt you down without mercy
Hunt you down all nightmare long
Feel us breathe upon your face
Feel us shift, every move we trace
Hunt you down without mercy
Hunt you down all nightmare long, yeah
Luck. Runs. Out.

As one can see in my previous posts, yesterday was not a good day partly because I broke my own rules and regulations prior to my session I play. The result of that was that the % that I make mistakes is significantly higher than if I just follow the rules I made to optimalize my playing style.

An example of this is being offline on Skype, Skype = chatting = chitchatting = DISTRACTION = psychological impact on me = playing as a dumb idiot.

Also I should not be surfing on the NET but I downloaded a few movies during the session but that was not my main concern, it is very uncommon that I am surfing on the net while playing. :O

Anyways I played 1.1k hands yesterday and I was experimenting about the way I tiled my tables, normally I have all nine tables on my screen and sometimes it can causes me to lose the overview or that I want to scan a table with Telescope. This way I tiled my tables like this yesterday:

Surely I have to get used to this and I take less notes on player while not playing but now I can scan and play at the same time, handy! :)

Although StarsPlanner isn't working, manually doing this also does the trick

I surely was steaming, tilting or whatever you named it yesterday evening, I cashed out $500 to my neteller and I was about to move up to the bonuswhoring site (iPoker :) ).
I purchased Sklansky Tournament Advanced book for 2k FPP and I am about to buy either the Poker Mindset or Mathematics of Poker.

Now that I am thinking, I can play on Stars till the end of January so that my iPoker DB is ready and up to date and I can see after 20k hands how Im doing on NL100.. I felt sick'n'tired after seeing the graph today of yesterday ugh..

But the reason I tilted my ass off was the amount of mistakes I made thanks due distraction, even a RedBull couldnt prevent this from happening =(

Also beats were not really welcome in this period of time:
Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $1(BB) Replayer
SB ($219)
BB ($15.50)
UTG ($106)
UTG+1 ($103)
UTG+2 ($27.65)
CO ($144)
Hero ($17)

Dealt to Hero 7♠A♠

fold, fold, fold, CO calls $1, Hero raises to $4, fold, fold, CO calls $3,

FLOP ($9.50) T♥8♠A♦

check, Hero bets $6, CO calls $6,

TURN ($21.50) T♥8♠A♦3♥

check, Hero bets $7, CO calls $7,

RIVER ($35.50) T♥8♠A♦3♥2♦

CO shows A♣2♣
(Flop 40.8%, Turn 36.4%)

Hero shows 7♠A♠
(Flop 59.2%, Turn 63.6%)

CO played 41/12 over 500+ hands, an Isolation raise so to speak..

I already analyzed the session and what Alejandrosh just said in my face: BBV ... but with a taste of Distraction which I hate..

So my plan is to still continue playing on Stars till the end of January, creating a new DB for the bonuswhore month February to let me buy some awesome shirts + creating a spare capital just in case.

Some stats of till now:

And a funny brag/tilt hand at the end of my session:

No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (8 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

saw flop | saw showdown

BB ($101.50)
UTG ($38.80)
UTG+1 ($215.55)
MP1 ($108)
Hero (MP2) ($14)
CO ($24.85)
Button ($18.50)
SB ($132.30)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K, Q
3 folds, Hero raises $4, CO raises $7, 3 folds, Hero calls $3

Flop: ($15.50) 7, A, Q (2 players)
Hero bets $7 (All-In), CO calls $7

Turn: ($29.50) 2 (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($29.50) 3 (2 players, 1 all-in)
HEART ONE TIME BABY!
Total pot: $29.50

Results:
Hero had K, Q (flush, Ace high).
CO didn't show K:c, K:d
Outcome: Hero won $28.10

The Aftermath:

TarHeelNatio said, "jeez"
TarHeelNatio said, "cant win"
TarHeelNatio said, "runner runner is my life"

No more sorrow distraction things just straightdown Poker!

Comments are welcome and appreciated :)

Wouldn't a second screen help with the overlapping? I can fit 15 PS tables with two.

I don't think u need to change platforms.
SSS is very repetative and yes it has given you some big profits but maybe you should switch to BSS because it sounds like your getting bored.

I can find your meaning in your posts, yes fact of SSS that it is repeating itself but I found dynamics I never been into so that keeps the play still interesting

Moreover I felt I needed a bankroll boost in terms of attracting new capital. This to get a bigger airbag (=BRM), just in case
Also I invest it in Education which brings me to your BSS suggestion: Many other players (Coaches, players) have suggested to play BSS FR/SH. When I want to play BSS, I want to take a shot at FR BSS.

I only want to switch when Ive reached my goal but I appreciate your comment :)

Is it just more or you becoming tempted to be a little bit of a signup bonus whore Gerv ;)

jks lol, but i always thought that a site with a nice rakeback scheme would be the most suited to SSS. I would also move If i didn't have my nice $3k buy-a-bonus on Party going :)

What's up Mr. Gerv? Long time no see. Can't remember last time it was 3-4 days without an update from you ;)

How are you doing? Found a new place to play/where will you play now?

I'll go to the basement and have a Heinekin (They don't serve Bavaria:D).

Catch you later,

[x] SiCK! Expected Value & a new Home!

Awaiting my bankroll 3 days ago on the iPoker network, I was happy to RickRoll them! I had to get used to the 13 people waiting lists and probably I will then play on Stars (combined though)

Fist thing I noticed when playing is the speed of iPoker compared to Stars. While Everest may be the slowest turtle of them all, iPoker is slightly following I think. Combine that with 8+ people waiting for tables and you can play up to 8 tables I think giving you only 400~ hands per hour.

My Database is ok and I know above 80% of the field so whatever I do not know, I ought them as Fish unless proven otherwise. The tools that I use for iPoker is:
* iPskinner, otherwise I would be instant tilting due the yellow colours and stuff >.<
* EyePoker; self explanatory
* The Bet-Pot option at iPoker itself, easy :]
* HEM

I disabled chat at the bottomleft of a table to give me extra space for my HUD and other statistics :]! I can give you a screenshot of how a table looks so if you want to see a screenshot, please shout !

Well with 2 days combined I played below EV ( no kidding, well I only played 1.1k hands ) getting a few beats that are being felt elsewhere as well (My A:dJ:d didnt survived A:sJ:c because of a 8:c7:c3:c2:cK:h board , preflop all-in)

I also managed to tilt a guy when I shoved Queens against his KQo and the next hand I got Aces and faced the guy again lol, see what happens:

No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (7 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

saw flop | saw showdown

CO ($101.33)
Button ($29.40)
Hero (SB) ($32.80)
BB ($100)
UTG ($99.80)
MP1 ($45.80)
MP2 ($121.40)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, A
UTG calls $1, 4 folds, Hero raises $3.50, 1 fold, UTG calls $3

Flop: ($9) J, 6, 8 (2 players)
Hero bets $6, UTG raises $29, Hero calls $22.80 (All-In)

Turn: ($66.60) 7 (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($66.60) 9 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $66.60

Results:
Hero had A, A (one pair, Aces).
UTG had 9, 9 (three of a kind, nines).
Outcome: UTG won $63.80

It happens but I didnt felt sorry for myself because I noted him down as a tiltbunny and I thought he had healthy stats for a player because he played like 16/14/2.3 but sawing him openraiseing KQo in Early position and calling a shove from a shorty eventually made my mind go like ''This guy is lololol like Tilly's 'I thought you had Kings'

To show you the graph, here it is:

As one can see, it is not a sample worthy analysis/conclusion besides bad luck. I got some compensation due my first deposit bonus + other deals but I expect to turn things around asap.

I was really ill this week coughing a lot, sneezing like I have a cold and a temporary headache *yugh* :(
I had to coach yesterday evening but I had to cough sometimes as well so I apologize for that, It wont happen anymore

In exchange you witnessed a good bad beat while I played on PartyPoker for my coaching :

Party Poker, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 10 Players

UTG+2: $6.94 (69.4 bb)
MP1: $6.99 (69.9 bb)
MP2: $2 (20 bb)
MP3: $3.88 (38.8 bb)
CO: $1.69 (16.9 bb)
Hero (BTN): $1.85 (18.5 bb)
SB: $2.05 (20.5 bb)
BB: $11.56 (115.6 bb)
UTG: $3.18 (31.8 bb)
UTG+1: $13.07 (130.7 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is BTN with A♥ A♣
6 folds, CO raises to $0.40, Hero raises to $1.85 and is all-in, 2 folds, CO calls $1.29 and is all-in

Flop: ($3.53) Q♦ 7♦ 8♣ (2 players, 2 are all-in)
Turn: ($3.53) 5♦ (2 players, 2 are all-in)
River: ($3.53) 2♦ (2 players, 2 are all-in)

Results: $3.53 pot ($0.17 rake)
CO showed A♠ A♦ (a flush, Ace high) and won $3.36 ($1.67 net)
Hero showed A♥ A♣ (a pair of Aces) and lost (-$1.69 net)

Also we had a discussion how easy Gerv tilts.... well to tell you the truth:
If you decide to make a move with A2s against me, you can be sure you tilt me when you win against me :P

While my health do not allow me to go Partying or clubbing, I still have shitloads of schoolwork to do.. that also prevents me from playing Poker.
I have to hand in essays/reports within the following 2 weeks and It absorbs a huge amount of concentration and time!

I even cannot judge all hands at the sample board forum but Guys keep on posting since it is important for you to develop your game! =)

@ Kimber88:

I'm doing fine, recovering from my illness =(. I play at iPoker NL100 right now temporarily to see how it is there.

How are you doing with your Poker?

--

I will make an end to this long post but while I didnt wrote a letter at all in the previous 3 days, you deserve a long posts but I hope the content is worth reading ;) If not you can always ask questions or let me enlight you about some things

Take *couuugh :(* care Guys/Girls

I'm doing quite okay. Thanks for asking :)
I started playing at cake on the FL tables. Low traffic but plenty of bad players eager to donate their bankroll.

Cool pics you put up. I like the teddy with the beautiful danish flag of course. And the calculator, a Texas TI84+ if my eyes serve me right, that's one mighty fine calculator.

You'll beat the fishes at iPoker. You're a SSS expert. I'm really looking forward to follow your blog in 2009. Good luck.

[x] Help from an unexpected Corner

Hi Guys, what's up :)?
Even though I am still recovering from my illness , I still was able to play yesterday evening. A day of setting aside all psychological aspects and a day without Red Bull or some equilavent of that just pure Sleeping-Rest

As I had set up the times that I suppose to play because of the low waiting lists on iPoker, I did some other things during the afternoon, just some relaxed things.

So my first real session started at 18:30 CET where the Sharks are eating and fish are fishing just before their Dinner. It was all scheduled as it should be: low waiting lists, plenty of fish and tight passive guys and a happy Gerv

As 10-tables are mostly filled quickly due the WLs I also play 8-max tables, different strategy there is that you sometimes must open with marginal holdings like KJs. But there is so much action there compared to 10-max that you get called often with bottompair , wowiewawa!

First hand I was involved was the K3 hand, DeKuip always loves on Stars... Well on iPoker the K3 hand also does it's works but I wonder why I didnt went all-in on the Turn but oh well :]

Party Poker $100.00 No Limit Hold'em - 8 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

BTN: $50.55
SB: $115.75
Hero (BB): $16.50
UTG: $80.87
UTG+1: $21.70
MP1: $55.65
MP2: $35.60
CO: $85.24

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BB with K♣ 3♥
4 folds, CO calls $1, 2 folds, Hero checks

Flop: ($2.50) K♠ K♦ Q♣ (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks

Turn: ($2.50) 6♠ (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $1.00, Hero raises to $2, CO raises to $3, Hero raises to $7, CO calls $4

River: ($16.50) 7♦ (2 players)
Hero bets $8.50, CO calls $8.50

Final Pot: $33.50
CO shows Qd 8d
Hero wins $31.85
(Rake: $1.65)

Then a couple of KK<JJ,AK<KQs, AJs<AJo hands were coming out but that's pretty common as I runner-runnered a flush as well against KK with my AKo, just the blablabla story OMG Aces cracked against runner (%I#JOSJfl.. *winks at Alejandrosh ;)*

It's all part of the game but psychological it hurts a little bit more on FTP/iPoker because one can see the opponents hole cards earlier.

But as Regulars do not see me as Reg SS yet I saw some pretty opportunity to make a statement against them. Also flopping cool hands makes the play easier:

Party Poker $100.00 No Limit Hold'em - 7 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

CO: $18.50
Hero (BTN): $17.00
SB: $48.00

BB: $65.45

UTG: $104.50
UTG+1: $83.35
MP: $18.50

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BTN with 8♥ 7♣
4 folds, Hero raises to $3, 1 fold, BB calls $2

Flop: ($6.50) 7♦ 8♦ A♣ (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $4.00, BB calls $4

Turn: ($14.50) K♣ (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $10.00, BB calls $10

River: ($34.50) 4♠ (2 players)

Final Pot: $34.50
BB shows A♥ J♠
Hero wins $32.80
(Rake: $1.70)

I figured out that he folds his bb 50% of the time and that when he 3bets me I should abort. But when he calls I have a 66% chance he folds to my c-bet. So most of the times I should be good and that's why it is essential to not only see the Fold BB to steal stat but also the Fold to c-bet and mostly also the WTS etc. See it is as a Cause-Consequence thing: What will he do whenever he calls, what will he probably do this and then..

Session #1 ended at 20;30 CET, played 2 hours straight on 8+ tables. I managed to get up from my early losses during the session to a whopping 4bb profit =)!

Time for Team Fortress 2 but oh wait KukkiWonBG, the Bulgarian wanted a sweat session and he was talking to me just as I was about to leave Skype.
I told him that I came back at around 22:00 CET and that he can sweat me because he was playing from 20:30 CET till 22:00 CET then.

Okay so far so good and so I continued my winning streak on TeamFortress 2 pwning the ass out of those regulars by killing/backstabbing 25 people in a round and only died 5 times :)

Well when I came back from the Team Fortress 2 world, I gave Kukki my Yuuguu link. We in the Dutch Community are currently expirmenting with WebSharing tools to make the Coachings more interesting and more interacting. The current software they used so far were TeamViewer and Mikogo. Mikogo was the current winner but their cap of 10 visitors maximum screws the whole job.

So I tried out Yuuguu, it allows up to 30 people to watch your screen. The visitors/watchers do not even need software to use it , just a webbrowser is enough!

Unfortunately the drawbacks are also notified, Kukki could not saw my HUD so that's when we switched to Mikogo.

The session started at 22:00 CET with both mikogo and Skype voice chat on. I told him prior to the session that he was about to bring Bulgarian Luck with him since he was running hot on the same limit

Tables were running and EyePoker did his work searching the tables and immediately we had a questionable hand in a freeplay:

$100.00 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players

BTN: $39.50
SB: $135.25
Hero (BB): $20.00
UTG: $35.20
UTG+1: $11.99
UTG+2: $101.90
MP1: $47.50
MP2: $22.35 is unknown with 22 hands 68/0
CO: $48.90

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BB with Q♠ T♣
4 folds, MP2 calls $1, 2 folds, SB calls $0.50, Hero checks

Flop: ($3.00) 8♥ T♠ 6♠ (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3.00, MP2 calls $3, SB folds

Turn: ($9.00) 7♥ (2 players)
Hero bets $7.00, MP2 raises to $14, Hero raises to $16, MP2 calls $2

River: ($41.00) Q♣ (2 players)

Final Pot: $41.00
MP2 shows A♣ 6♥
Hero wins $38.95
(Rake: $2.05)

I already invested 50% of my stack and I thought ''could I fold here now?'', obviously Kukki shouted push push push! but I thought it completes any draw you know doesn't make sense.. but the thing that made sense is that I already invested 50% of my stack so I shoved and sighed to see a nine.

Unfortunately that didn't happened and I shipped the first 20bbs..

At some point I played up to 15 tables because they were so juicy and sometimes Kukki told me that I could have shoved there with ATo but I was so busy discussing it with Kukki and playing the tables that I couldn't differ from the strategy.

So I tasted some glimpse of a heavy multitabler playing ABC poker, yugh I hate it. He also told me the variance of a 16 multitabler and man that's was stunning...!

Things were somehow someway looking up for me while discussing plays and strategy. He gave me another look on it and hopefully I gave him another perspective of looking upon SSS things anyways I will cut the converted hands but one. Basically this happened during the sweat-session:

My 99 > Villains 44 - Postflop 8:s3:s2:d All-In
My T9o > Villains 87o - Freeplay , Flopping NutStraight 678, Ace & Ten didn't helped him :]
My JJ > Villains QQ - +EV 3bet Push Pre-Flop, ''Your a Luckbox Gerv.. wtf''
My ATs > Villains A3o - Cooled him on the Turn with Trip Aces Ten Kickah!
My AJo < Villains Aqo - Kukki recommended to fold and yeh I didn't listen to Bulgarian luck :( *snif*
My AA > A:h5:h - PreFlop All-in, Villain openraises Pot and calls my shove with this hand *instant Note wtf*
My 99 > QJo - Limp/Reraise UTG with unknown stats (31/1), I had <15bb stack so easy shove in Kukki's opinion, I feared an overpair but nevertheless I think folding is too weak here.
+ a couple of me openraises Pot, Villain calls, c/f Villain due my C-bet! At some point this adds a couple of bucks too

The result on the screen was oblivious but Visual drawn in the means of a graph, it looks cool and I am very happy that Kukki gave me some insight about some things & opportunity :)

Graph of last sessions:

Total Graph is here:

On top of that, there are bonuses that aren't displayed but I do not play for bonuses, I play with bonuses and I play for a good winrate :)

The last hand was kind of hilarious because we were discussing things and I just said to him ''Hmm I am going to shove Queens here, keep on talking :P '

Then on the Flop I shouted QUAAAAAAAADS OMFGSOSMFO#RSLj so Kukki had to repeat everything so sorry for that mate !

So what will I be doing today? Well obvious I am going to play as much as yesterday I think. Around 1.2k hands and I am satisfied. I can handle 12+ tables on iPoker but the question remains if I can reach the 12 tables due the waiting lists.

I hope this is a good read although it looks like an essay. Thinking self-critical this post is way tooooo long but I felt dedicating some time writing something that is decent rather than just saying Hi, went well, graphs, bye!

Obiviously I cannot go clubbing with my health because if I do that, I will be laying in the Hospital due my lungs

Hey, Gerv
This was bulgarian skill, not luck....
You can not even imagine when I'm lucky how hot a poker game can run

I hope I will have some of this "skill" today on my sessions :P

Thanks again for the sweat session and the opportunity for pushing the frontiers of SSS one step further ;)

Best regards,

Last 1000 hands I was playing like I was break-even, didn't analyzed yet but what the fuck, why do I call a resteal with KQs only because I need like 36%?!?! Why do I raise A9s from MP when CO/BTN/MP3+2 are tight as a mofo and the BB TAG guy calls and calls my c-bet while his raise to cbet 33% and fold to cbet 50% on a TTA rainbow board...

Me like shoving on the and like getting Quads in my face l0l

I played break-even in terms of bonus compensation but man it was bad.

More details follow as this post shouldn't be if I didnt played as bad CHRIST

How bad played is this?
