sorry to hear all that mate, I know its no consolation, but I've been runing really really bad this month as well, everything is going down hill, was actually making my way back to breaking even this month, but I'm down to where I crawled back from...

My month seems to be a loosing one, however I'm only 900hands from getting my first 10k session, which is a positive thing.

I have found out my flop cbet seems way to high, and I'm calling down to light, when ppl's line doesn't make sense. My rivers have been the worst for a long time now 40% W$SD in this month looks like everything is a bad.

And you proberly knew about my dissaster month already, but anyways I'm down 7BI this month loosing 9.28 BB/100 maybe I should lay off zoom for a while, and start to play ppl where I can see how they play...

Anyways... hopefully we can change our losses into winning sessions soon!

Standard run bad post haha. well the only positive i can take is that my $ev is at nearly 5bb/100 hands

After having a few hours to reflect i think it was just confidence in my game as i kept on having to fold decent holdings (with hind sight they weren't very strong in relative strength) I would go through folding these hands 9/10 times in the session, then on the tenth time i'd think they can't keep on having these hands so i end up calling..... they turn over the goods....

What disapoints me the most is where i'd be without the the times a doubt my game.

So im just going to take the next few days off from online and focus on live, i've got the monthly final a week today!

Where do u study? I also go to a pub league but it is the red tooth poker one and its regional finals etc look them up!

Only at my local university (Gloucester) i didn't know if i wanted to do the course so didn't fancy paying all accommodation fee's etc and pulling out after 3-4 months. The main bonus of living at home is that i end up being better at getting my work done and also the food is a tad better!

Just looked up redtooth, seems pretty good. About 4-5 pubs in about 10 mile radius which take part! will definitely have to give that league a go! thanks for the suggestion!

Had my little break from poker, ended up buying the mental game of poker and pre ordering number 2 so that will give me something to do. ♦

Also ended up finally getting round to acquiring a weight bench to go with all my other weights which is a plus as i can now add extra bits to my routines

off to the local casino tomorrow for the monthly final, depending on when i bust i will probably play some cash games.... Tonight my reading is all about shoving ranges when down to certain bb's and to re-read the m-factor stuff. Fingers crossed i'll get into the top 10 anything after that is a bonus ♠_cool:

Well to start off, my rant from a week or so ago sounds much worse than what it actually was and to be quite honest i could have lost a lot more if i hadn't been able to fold as much as i did on tough river/turn spots.

Sunday was the final, was pleased with how i played. blinds and antes kicked in quickly, blinds were 800/400 ante 100. Only hand i wasn't sure about was at that level.
UTG 18k- limped---- he was very loose would routinely call down with Ace high or jack high
UTG+1 12k min raised--- at the very start he was very loose and within an hour was down to 1000 chips (started with 20k) now 3 hours in he had tightened up a lot.

Everyone folds to me in the SB i look down at AQo. I didn't know what to do here as UTG+1 had up until this point rarely raised. I ended up folding. I told the kid sat next to me (who plays tournaments only online and live)and he said definite push. I'd just like to get other opinions!

Ended up busting my last 8bb with KQ vs AQ 1st hand back after a break.
Couldn't be bothered to play any cash too tired with clocks changing etc

booked a coaching session for Sunday so hopefully i can iron out some things in my game
Got my usual Wednesday night poker game tonight and monthly game Saturday night so good few days of poker ahead!

Lastly got my copy of the mental game of poker, some good points in there which made me think.

it was my locals monthly game tonight. didn't finish in the money but made some valuable points which counts the most! (especially when 2nd place busted first)

my downfall tonight was AJ vs 8J but managed to scrape to 6th place after that which wasn't too bad.

so far with the mental game i've written down the points for where my mindset changes and i've started to evaluate every session on my decision making and how calm i am. So far so good, i just need to plod on longer.

Now time for some late night tea and crumpets before bed. You can't get more English than that!

only hand i wasn't sure about to push was i had 6 bb left and i was in the sb. with A2o there was already two limpers which both had bigger stacks. What do other people think?

Having a break from online at the moment, using local games as an excuse to not revise for exams next week.

Last night on the final table every hand which went all in pre, came from behind.
KK<43o Was the worse one. Ended up coming third last night. Off again tonight to play, to catch up on my missed weeks.

Finished 3rd again last week. nothing much standard to talk about. Missed the monthly final as i was at a local tourist spot (Bibury) helping run a mountain bike event with my old man.

Should be back to playing more now, had two exams, one today one yesterday. Now a few weeks till my next two which means more poker and mountain biking time!

May play tonight at my local. This depends on how my essay goes this afternoon for my diss stuff for next year....

finished 4th last night, so my run of thirds is finally over.

Still trying to get used to shove calling ranges. play was 5 handed utg shoves 7 bb i have 7bb and wake up with A6o. He seemed very twitchy and eager to get me in. i ended up folding. Previously i'd seen him shove with hands such as 9Ts but he hadn't acted the same with his body language as with previous hands. What does any body else think?

One hand i didn't know whether to shove with was on the BU i had 45o with 9bb, sb and bb had me covered. Shove or fold any body?

Ended up busting in 4th, the hand before i busted got miss dealt, i had AKs.... so they re deal i look down at pocket 4's shove and get snapped off with JJ

just sat at the table, villain was unknown. Wasn't too sure about the call on the river, at the time i thought he could do that with 8x with the size of the bet but looking back on it i don't think im ever really good there as the only hand i beat is 78

well April has been and almost gone, only managed 2k hands online which finished just below break even... got to love being a volume whore.

Mainly i've been making a silly ones which i keep on doing which is looking at my hands and thinking jackpot, but neglecting to look at the board and calling raises on the river when there is four cards to the straight. I'm not sure how to address this leak, any body have any thoughts/things they did to stop themselves from overvaluing hands or is it just repetition of these mistakes which will eventually grind me down so much that i stop doing it haha.

Since my online has been so low and my pub playing has been more than usual i have started to pick put silly things which work in pubs onto online such as flatting 3bets oop with strong QQ+ i know it would probably work better at higher stakes and is probably more variance rich too but as numerous people say ABC is the best way to dig yourself out of the nano stakes.

I dont really have a goal as such for the next month, i do have two exams next week but then thats it for the summer so time wise i should be able to fit more poker in. The one thing i have which is more of a rule than a goal is i have taken out all my money out of my stars account apart from $21 so this will enable me to stop playing 6 tables so i can focus on playing 2 tables to see if this enables me to make more lay downs than crying calls :f_o:.

On another note, i ordered a new full face helmet for mountain biking so hopefully will try it out tomorrow as the weather is pretty nice... Hopefully i wont crash and have to buy a new one. My motto is helmets can be bought again however heads can't ♠_cry:

Now I have finished all my exams i've had time to actually think about settings goals!
First off im going to try and do the rest of the month on 6max fast forward to try and get me into more tricky spots.

Im going to try and play every day, however my rule is not to play after a night out.

Hand evaluation wise, the days i do play i will post 3 hands minimum for analysis, and actually force myself to reply/question what the hand judges reply to me rather than just leaving it.

Volume wise i don't really want to aim for number anything more than my last months effort is fine with me.

Well first few days have been interesting :f_biggrin:. The most annoying thing about the switch is stack sizes, so many people with 80c to 1dollar stacks. stats are 17/15 over these.
EP and MP are very low 5/5 and 8/8 over these hands which is probably ever so tight even over my small sample?

Also, for some reason i can't seem to get my HUD working for Fast Fold, it works fine on the normal tables :f_frown:.

With Fast fold everything imports ok active session is up to date etc but no hud. I have run both HEM and WH as admin but that doesn't seem to help either!?!

The other hands which resulted in the nose dive were trivial ones of getting it in due to stack sizes on the flop

I don't think you have to worry, zoom can be very swingy and tilty, I also think you played the hand fine, I do however think I would c-bet the turn, if he calls you are most likely beat, but he could also raise you and you have to give up.

Sad about the river, think I would have called him as well, but I would properly also x flop if I was villain, to let you catch up

I went to my local to play my usual Wednesday night. Had God mode turned on.

All in 3 1/2 hours of play. Even when i was behind on the flop i was turning trips.
i went into heads up with 80% of the chips and needless to say i came 1st and ended my run of 3rds.

Goal wise didn't play yesterday but all previous days i have posted 3/3 hands

Played again tonight.

My insane run of cards couldn't help me, but i have picked up on some tells recently with how people place their chips when betting which is proving to be useful in tough spots.

Ended up in a BU vs SB vs BB war all in pre i was on the button. I shove 8BB with AQo SB calls with AJ and BB calls with pocket KKs.

AJ ended up scooping the whole pot by flopping two pair... Nice 10% there

Turns out bad beats do happen live....

Played a few more sessions online still keeping in track with my goal of posting 3 hands a day. One annoying thing is that i still have not got my hud working which means i have been making too tight a folds especially on the button vs blinds.
