I just have fancy play syndrome.
More like you think too much about your hand and not think enough about your opponents ranges and how your actions effect it imo.
Well since i'm back to playing 6max i guess next time you'll be making shots to nl10 i could do a sweat session if you want (my spoken english sucks rly hard tho). Give me ur skype if interested.
Hello guys.
My mindset sucks and feel really unmotivated today. I was imo playing somewhat good/reviewing my sessions on dialy basis, but the variance came, and I lost 80$ which is pretty much for me and dunno. Just feels so bad. But since I cant fail my master I will just fuck this. I will get back on my feet!
And some quotes from my chat with master.
[16:28:41] master: upodate blog, make a sschedule for yourself, fap less
[16:28:43] master: ?????????
[16:28:46] master: profit
[16:31:22] me: but i dont feeel really like playing. losing those 80$ broke me
[16:31:50] master: stop being such a pussy ♦
[16:32:06] master: in your
[16:32:11] master: long term plans
[16:32:15] master: 80 is nothing
[16:32:25] master: so shouldn't mean a thing to you now as well
[16:32:38] master: sure it takes some time to recover
[16:32:51] master: but that's like the hardest part of poker
[16:32:55] master: learn to deal with it
[16:33:02] master: and you'll reach your goals
if master want to say who he is he will say.
Longerm is the only thing that matters and 80$ is nothing!
This will be a long post. (sorry NightfrostaSS)
I don't even know what to start with.
Lets start with some introduction.
I've been really lacking motivation in last weeks, in poker and also in life. The things in life isn't going really well + I lost ~90$ from my br, so now it's around 80$. This will gonna be the post on which I will look when I lack motivation again.
Probably helps for someone else too.
Why?
I lack motivation because, I was doing really really well, built my bankroll from 90$ to 170$ and then I started to lose and made tilt spew a bit at the end. So I lost ~80$ then, took a break for a week or so. I recovered to ~130$ and then I lost it to 80$ and this time I guess it wasn't beause of tilt, I kept paying off sets in 3bet pots and probably some fps(fancy play syndrome) + overadjusted to oponents. It's really frustrating when you are building your bankroll slowly and then BOOM, lose a big part of it, it's hard. But now I just can't give up, because the master troll NightfrostaSS is helping me! This is not a chance that appears every day. I don't want to miss it.
How to succeed?
Working constantly on your game.
If you want to succeed in poker studying is a MUST, doesn't matter if you win or lose or breakeven. I will use example of Poker Mindset book. If you go upwards a hill with your car and take your foot of acceleration pedal you will stop or even go back(!). Was I working on my game? Yes! I was watching videos and doing hand analysis with my master NightfrostaSS.
Volume.
Volume is really important. You can't really climb limits by playing 100 hands a day.
Discipline and schedule.
This is the point that I want to talk about more seriously. My life is a mess and my poker sessions are no on the same time every day. I remember 1st-4th grade in school. I was really way ahead of my other classmates in thinking. But I had pretty strict schedule. Maybe schedule is real success because your mind already prepairs for your next planned activitiy and you can be 100% concentrated. I remember my schedule back in the days. ^^ I was waking up at 7am, at that time my mom left house to work, I ate my breakfast and watched cartoons (I remember it was Garfield and friends
sick cartoon) then at 7:45 I was leaving home to bus. When I went out of home at 7:46 I was like "Oh shit! I am late!" True story. Then was school obviously, I came home and immeadiatley changed my clothes and did the homeworks without turning on the TV, my parents didnt allow me to do anything until my homeworks werent done. So after homeworks I was free, I usually watched cartoons at 4pm. I remember it was usually Mask.
Or I just went out with my friends.
Was really nice life and I wasn't unhappy.
So there is a bit more than a week before the school starts so I have decided to make some kind of schedule again. (success? :f_o:) Since school takes a lot of time I will try to change my sleeping schedule to sleep just 6 hours 10pm-4am. Will contact caltabiano for some sleeping advices. So I wake up at 4am, prepare my meals for the whole day(!) take a shower, eat. So this should take less than hour. I will try opening tables at 5am and play till 8am (no breaks, except toilet breaks!) Then eat again and go to school. I expect to be back at home at 4pm and eat, do all the houseworks(cleaning, bringing wood in n other shit since I will probably be left home alone.) Then do the homeworks for school. And have a evening for my own needs. I think I will review hands in the evening/watch vids/ read/play if I want to. Ofc get in shower before sleep and be in bed before 10pm, becaue calta said that you sleep better if you go to bed before midnight. It will be really hard to wake up at 4am and if this schedule works it will probably be my hardest year in my life, but I must work hard. The problem is that I wont be able to play on weekends. Will see how this schedule works. Thanks to fongie for talking about discipline and schedule in his poker show!
Game.
I have to decide which game I will play. 6max seems really complex to me but at least I dont have to mass multitable in it.(Rush poker?) In fullring ranges are a bit easier, at least on micros and I don't get into so many wtf spots as I am in 6max. Also in 6max there is a lot more room for mistakes, so does for emotions. My mindset is not so strong yet, but I am working on it. Also the implied odds on FR is better, and in 6max you have to make more moves postflop. I often don't feel comfortable in 6max and probably end up playing fps. So any ideas how to decide which one to play? Yea, yea, the one where I fell more comfy. ♦
Lifetilt.
I am on lifetilt for quite some time. Time to change it. I wont ask myself Why? but istead Why not?
Keeping track of my progress.
I will try to write down my progress in some notebook, how many hands i review, how many vids I watch, how many hands I play for month, monthly winnings. It will be interseting to loo kat those stats after few years.
So this is it! The period of evaluation is till next years june, If i will be able to earn some decent money, and If i will be able to put aside money for next half year. So, will review this post in next may!
GL.
Special thanks to NightfrostaSS, TwiceT, TLN, poker bros, Fongie for great motivation.
Nice motivational post! I really hope you manage to stick to this schedule, sounds super sick (i for once would never manage it, too much of an eve/night person :P).
Now that you have someone good to talk to you'll also be more confident and that's really important ^^
SH vs. FR - lately I'm kinda agreeing with you. Even tho I love SH (and will love HU for sure once I get to a limit where rake doesn't take 70% of ur winnings), but for building bankroll vs. fish I believe that taking a less variance approach is far better.
Sooooo gl and hf obviously ;]

I've moved to FT and will play rushpoker, because I will just have 3h per day for poker and I want to put in at least some kind of volume. I will start to play tomorrow by playing 2 tables of NL5 FR RUSH. Lets see how it goes. Yes. I also hope that the schedule wont break me, tho I will only start it when the school starts.
Thanks Vik!
Lol dude I could tell that you are LAtvian from the cartoons you watched I also watched Mask at 4pm ♦
So. I've played 3k hands at NL5 RUSH Fullring.
In the beggining I tried to play really by chart. ♦ But since the rush is tighter you should be looser I think. Now I will try to open up my range.
I am losing A LOT on non showdown winnings. And it's a leak, because my redline is going down really fast. Will try to find some ways to fix it.
I am losing so far, because of redline.
One question to rush players. Do you fold KK preflop?
15k hands today.
I am starting to love the grind. ^^
Started day with NL5 then took shots @ NL10. Ended day in profit, but -8$ at NL10, tho up by rakeback.

So long story short.
In september 20 or smt I cashed out all my roll (70$) haha. Left 5$ in my account. And here I am 100k hands later. I don't have good winrate. I am rb pro. ♦
I feel superb motivated now. I can grind like hell. Still I should study more and I will do it.
Already can't wait to take shots @ NL25.
Also very big thanks to NightFrostaSS for helping me with strategy and mindset.
