Sry about ppl, who didnt got coaching. I cant coach u all ;), just dont have time. It was one time thing with one player, who were able to do it instanlty (but i think it can happen in recent future again, so look my blog :spade:)
I'm about to move up to NL100, even though I'm not at the limit quite yet I still think we'd gain from a sweatsession or something.
You have me on skype, to just holla if you're interested.

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to underline the importance of this golden rule!
As we all know, then mindset or psychology plays a very big part in poker.
One of the most important things about mindset is:
- to be a long term thinking player.
The thing is - we don't want to think about every dollar we win/lose.
We should tend to only think about long term results. And, when saying that,
I mean @ NL Hold'em SH Cash, we should be analyzing our overall game after
some 50k hands - so we could really start to analyze our game in the long-term.
As I see - so far a lot of people like to look at the their graphs
way too often and I think, that it is a leak, when thinking in terms of mindset.
I mean, good poker players will use this rule with love -
and start to take a look at their BR and graphs after a long period of playing.
("Take care of decisions and money will care for itself!" - Some book, I think.)
And let's be serious - can we learn anything at all by looking at short term results,
if we want to be a long term thinking players? Y/N?
I mean, everyone could be having like minus 10BI in two days
with big flips from hands like QQ Vs AK, etc.
I challenge you all - don't look at your graphs/bankrolls for one week
and most of you will understand, that this rule is GREAT.
And say: Does it work for you?
To TheLastNail: Thank you, dude! That rule helps a lot.
To kevvu: Have fun learning the game!
P.S. I guess, that RULE could be your first step to become a long term thinking player.

Currently playing nl100fr but obviously interested in reviewing hands and sweating, even though you play sh. Analyzing hands alone can be a pain in the ass, so if you want someone to review/sweat/talk with just shout at skype.

How its possible? I open pokerclient and see my BR...
everything is possible
just login and dont look at the corner with your balance.. then move to off the screen and you're done. Or you can google for scripts that hide predefined part of your screen if you want
Yep, just try not to watch your BR for a week and after first week u dont even want to watch it ;).
Yep we can have sweat sessions, i will contact in skype. ♠_love:

Stupid fulltilt they have to show my balance every new sng that opens , I tried and only looked at my BR 4 times last week and it really works
I'm buying table ninja just to be able to not look at it.
to IIJonasII:
had the bankroll watching problem also (Microgaming). There the bankroll is showed in the corner always. But then surfed in some forum and there was a thread were was solution to this problem. Just go to C:\Microgaming\Poker\(microgamingsite name)MPP\theme\SITE NAME\global\Menu_Large. Open the file Main_XXL with Paint, its the picture of the lobby. Then take the eraser and erase area of balance or paint it to white(same color what the bankroll numbers are). if any other network then i think it works the same.
More like dont look at bankroll for a month
I actually know a FR pro who never looks at his cashier, he plays in like 3 sites and his wife is the one who makes the cashouts so he has no idea how he is running (he hasn't have a losing month playing NL400+ for years)
I look at my HEM graph every 10 mins at least and it's the only thing that makes me happy when playing poker.

Disagreed. If I'm playing well, I don't mind looking at my graph/session results and see that I'm down 5 buyins. It doesn't affect my mindset or my game, as long as I feel I'm playing well and making good decisions I'll keep playing regardless of few buyin swings.
On the other hand, if I'm getting crushed and loosing my confidence. I'll just take a look at my monthly/yearly graph and realize where I'm coming from and how it's just variance and that I can beat the game IF I keep making my best plays all the time.

hey im just kidding
Agree that not looking hem = +skill, and +x/100bb
It is a very interesting read, but... not looking at your bankroll???
That maybe a good advice for someone who is playing with scared money, but definitely not for me. I judge my play by my winrate and my winnings. I could not care less I my play is considered good or bad. All I care is for the numbers in all my tables to be green. That makes me happy!
If I can get them geen by shoving every hand or only minraising all the time, I would do it, couldn't care less what anyone else thinks!
I always check my little grren line. I am actually seriously considering buying another monitor just to have the graph on it and refreshing every time. It motivates me to play good and improve my game.
I my graph dips below zero, I play till I get it back again. If I am winning, then I try to reach a certain limit and go do something else, like read strategies or analyse hands.
Yesterday I played for 9 hours, just to get my numbers green. I fought back from being 100$ down, just to stop at 1.35$ up. Mission achieved
Today I played just 150+ hands, won 50$ and now I have time to write this post
I guess what I am trying to say is - different things work for different people. I like my numbers and I like looking at them. Often.

I judge my play by my winrate and my winnings.
If u want to judge more clearly, winrate and winnings make sence only after some distance. So looking one time per week/month and judge ur game by winrate on weekly distance is much more correct. Looking winnings every minute don't say u whether u play good or bad. Do u know Chris Fergusson's phrase about skill and luck in poker?

I see here some menthal problems. U played 9h to get green nr s, i dont think its good idea to play for that. U need to play for beating other ppl, but not for short term winnings. 150+ hands up and ended session? I think its better to continue if u win. Why cut winnings ?
