Glad you enjoy it!

Hmm... both yesterday and today I was up a decent amount, and then when playing the third session (which was played fairly late at both times) I lost most of the earlier winnings. Now, this might be results oriented as I don't have a good sample, but I think I'm going to try not to play poker after like 8 pm for a while and see how it goes. I don't feel as focused as I do in the mornings or at daytime anyway.
Instead if I feel poker after eight, I'll just watch a video, or review a session or some hands! I might (most likely) deviate from this at weekends though.

Here, take a banana! It's good for you!

That banana face is creepy as hell

I still haven't completed Portal yet, must get on that soon!

On the banana and Half Life theme, I thought i'd share a classic in this blog:

And wow again, that video was really ages ago! Had totally forgotten it.

On another note, anyone who wants to discuss hands on Skype? Probably daily or at least a few times a week. If so you're welcome to add me, username is alexmedh.

Just pre-ordered this book:

MentalGameofPoker.com

I have problems with tilt control, confidence, motivation and coping with variance and other things as well I'm sure.
I think this will be a really interesting book, and for sure worth those $50. Especially in the long run! I'm pretty excited about it, it's the first poker book I've bought!

Same when you've just brushed your teeth!

If you have three minutes to spare. *click*
Seriously, click it!

Haven't written here for a while. I've been focusing on PLO the last few days actually.

I think I might make the transition to make PLO my main game. I've thought about this for a couple of weeks and now the last days I've been playing PLO. It's a lot of fun, there's tons of fish and it's still pretty much unsolved, unlike NLHE. Not that I was close to having it solved myself, but still probably a lot more edge if I get decent in PLO than if I get decent at NLHE.
Also my mindset while playing PLO is a lot better as well, in PLO I know there's a lot of variance and consequently I'm actually fine with it.

Nothing 100% decided yet though, but I think I'll stick to PLO for the rest of the month and evaluate. Should be fun!

Let's splash around in PLO!

Haven't updated here for a while!

I'm still playing and enjoying PLO, lots of fun! I'm still very much new to the game though, and in a lot of spots I'm very confused. But I've been studying some today, watched a few videos and thought about it. Played a session today where I felt a bit more comfy in my preflop and flop game because of the videos, so that felt nice!

So, how has it been going?

Spoiler

Yeah, not that impressive. But still, breakeven-ish first 4k hands in a totally new game isn't that bad. And I'm learning tons (have lots of hands to go through tomorrow ) and having fun!

WTF of the Week:

Picture above is semi SFW, mostly just very very very wierd.

Yeah, problem fish?

Yeah, it sure is!

Thanks! Yeah, mindset is so important! And to continuously and actively try to work on it I think is very important, at least that how I think I need to do it.

And I added you. :)

I'm still rolled for PLO10, but the last few days I haven't been doing well at all(probably 96,2% my own doing). So I've moved down to PLO4 and decided to play 10k hands there before any attempt at PLO10. Feels a lot better to play at a lower level because of me being seriously overrolled and obviously the weaker competition.

Btw, I'm a pretty big fan of jazz, so I thought I'd share this:

I thought I'd put in some goals for the month here, because goals are good!

  • Put in 30k hands
  • Watch tons of PLO videos
  • Keep posting and/or reviewing marked hands
  • Play around a lot more with equity calculators to get a good feel of equitys
  • Move up to PLO10 again

ME GUSTA!

Just had my best session ever bb wise:

Spoiler

Yeah, ran quite a bit above EV.

But I'm not a total luckbox, here's the month overall so far:

Spoiler

I'm way behind in most of my goals, haven't been feeling all that well these last days. So even though the weather has been crap I haven't been putting in a lot of volume or studied.
But today I'm starting to feel better, and also the weather is awesome today! So we'll see about the volume today, lol. Maybe another session when the sun is down.

This would be the best!

Today I tried playing a bit longer than I usually do. I usually play about 45-60 min and sometimes 80-90 min. I decided to try playing for 180 min with small pauses with physical activities (like pushups and the like) every 40 min, and I actually survived!

I think I played decent enough, until the end when I was pretty tired and kept looking at the time instead of focusing. I was pretty tired and I knew the results wouldn't be awesome either because I ran somewhat bad. Ended up 25bb over ~1200 hands lol. Pretty happy about it actually since I was expecting a lot worse. :)

Anyway, it was my first try and it went pretty good so I think I'll try do these longer sessions more often. Preparation is the most important thing, and I think I prepared well enough. I ate a small meal about 40 min before the session, I had water, went to the bathroom before, no disturbances and a good playlist!

I recently started wathing some anime comedys again, the japanese humor is too funny!* If you're interesting in looking into it I've gotten recommendations to watch these:

  • School Rumble
  • Azumanga Daioh (pictured above, the one I'm watching atm)
  • Pani Poni Dash

Trying to learn som japanese with Rosetta Stone (a language learning program) as well, it's fun.

* Srsly, don't watch it. You might die.
