Hey magic, i was wondering when you would be updating!
Sounds like your having some rough times. I was going through a similar situation last month (not to the extent of your downswing) but still hard to deal with.

My advice is to have at least a few days break, i think zoom is still very profitable, its just very frustrating when such a big downswing happens so fast due to the high volume of hands.
It can be hard to stay motivated.

no, after a bit of thinking about my past success at the nl5 zoom, i decided to take a shot at 1 table of nl5 last night, and see how my new range went. its a lot tighter and im only bringing in either a pocket pair or suited connectors in position into the pot. im not even excited about playing 22-55 anymore. Im not making much with them , as i keep getting into set over set situations constantly.

this was the hand of the night..i was just hoping he didnt have a 9x hand or AK.
I might have spewed out on the turn, but i just saw the bet on the flop as a scared AA KK type hand.

I know what you mean about 22-55. I think this may be a leak in my game. I'm going to take a look at my stats with these hands and check if I'm making profit with them.

Nice hand btw! I don't like calling 3bets with QQ but I think its fine when you are sooo deep:D, the board is just so scary, I think he has AK a good amount of the time but I don't think I'm ever finding a folding. But then again, what hands are going to call for a 600BB pot

im back to the regular nl5 games again. im done and through with zoom. veriz had it right when he said, "you dont get paid off on your monsters as often as you would on the other regular tables" it seemed that the only time i was getting action on my ak was when they had a set on the fuckin flop.

so it was either sit there and just play 66-AA all day...like a robot..

i got my reload bonus, and am like 50 vpp away from making 1000 vpps and getting another 10 dollar bonus. today is going well, i also placed 2nd out of 18 in a $1.50 sng.

im actually enjoying just sitting there and doing virtually nothing while waiting for decent hands to play, rarther then on zoom, where i was playing "like" i was on regular tables and getting slammed hard. im not into robotics (sorry roo :P) when it comes to poker. i would quit if the game ever gets that nitty and boring. even winning the QQ 600 BB pot wasnt exciting. I felt like it took no skill to get a fish with 3 stacks and AA to go all in on a Q high flop.

i find the regular tables at pokerstars a much more "poker" like experience. even the full ring games I think i'll hang out there for now until they figure me out

sorry gerv!! I thought i told ya i temporarily quit playing magic. I just dont have the time or resources necessary to compete at the level i would like. i just play friends decks and such for fun in multiplayer. Bjut once i win this poker money i rightfully deserve i will buy a collection again and start grinding in standard again i dont even know what the new set has to offer. care to fill me in briefly? had a great session last night, which included plo5, plo5 zoom, nl5, nl5 zoom, and some sngs/mtts. overall on the day it was a gain of $5. Not because I spewed $25 at the beginning of the day because i got on tilt, we can just boil it down to bad luck ;). otherwise it wouldve been about a 20 dollar day :(. Oh when will I learn to stay off the plo tables when im on tilt lol!! april is done already ♠_o: Well at least I salvaged what was a rough start to the month, and an even rougher mid month. Found myself down to $26 at one point, but now have it back up to $90 again because of some fortunate bonuses and good play toward the end. I even think I figured out the zoom tables for now....again. lol

This isn't going to be my fave blog post, moving forward, its really hard to look back and say 30 days ago from today, i wasnt on tilt nor had i lost any of the $160 bankroll I had worked up from the month previous. A day later I couldnt say that any longer as I had lost a shitload of my $160 BR that night. Dipped down to 27 dollars , a hope and a dream at one point playing nl5.

key points of this month:
-study harder
-play less when tired
-play more when fully awake and fucussed
-bluff less
-bet more with decent hands when first to act on river
-set a stricter stop loss
-stay off plo tables. i just have no control of tilt over there quite like i do now on holdem , as exemplified by my 45 second 3 BI spew off there 2 days ago.
-start just going set or better for all ins on the zoom tables, which will mean playing suited connectors and suited ax hands on all positions for a raise
-follow my gut in all situations at nl5. i know what they have mostly all of the time now, i just have to make the right decisions more often.

the hand i made the most with is AA ($130)
and the hand i lost the most with is 33 (~30 bucks)

So im liking my decision to move back to the regular tables. Last night the tables were covered with fish, loose passive and good ol tight passive players ♦

It was pretty rough for them once i labeled them all and exploited their stats.
