Day 2: Even worse

Profit: -$325.75+$152=-$173.75

One of my worst days I think, I'm surprised I didnt lose more. I think I played pretty good actually but seen some sick stuff. Challenge seems pretty far away now, also because I have plenty of social stuff going on tomorrow.

Maybe its best to cut this thing and first define my goals.
I think I started this challenge just to get some money and that is just plain wrong. Also I started to learn FLHU and now I quitted that. Reason being? I guess because my hourly there is lower and its a new game which takes some time to understand. I liked it though.

What was the reason why I wanted to try FLHU? I just wanted to try something else. Right now I know it lies deeper. I'm just bored of NLHE, especially FR I guess. Today I realized that again, that I didnt enjoy playing it. Everything is so standard, not too many tough/different/exciting spots. So this is why I shift so much to other games.

The reason why I always go back to it is that I have a proven winrate for it + wr on other forms is just lower (which is normal cause I dont master it).

So do I really want to do something that I dont enjoy so much because my hourly is higher?

I think if i'm able to find something else, where I really aqcuire a new love for, this hourly will probably be pocket change. Ofc in the beginning I wont earn so much.

Now which forms do I enjoy?

- Heads up: nlhe/flhu/plo HU is so much more fun and challenging (also a lot of different scenarios etc). I actually like all 3 games HU. Lately I started playing some nlhe hu against good players to try and improve my game (thx to tln) and I enjoyed that really hard. Also PLO and FL are very fun HU.
I even played some HU SNGs and also those were pretty fun.

- Tournaments: Something I enjoy a lot as well, also very different scenarios although a bit less than in HU play I think. Variance can be tough though when you finish 10th-20th all the time.

- PLO 6max, much more complex game than NLHE and I also enjoy this a lot. After reading Hwangs book this week I felt like playing this again.

So which one will it be? I don't know yet, maybe I should just take a month for testing as much as possible. Atm I wanna try PLO 6max/HU a bit further.

This is probably one of my most disorganized posts but whatever.

We'll see, bigger post in a few days

if u are bored with setmining and u dont want to learn new game, you should try SH, definitely more fun :f_p:

No I do want to learn something new. I just didnt do it yet because money was an issue (lower hourly). But if I do find something worth working for then money will come eventually.

Tonight I'm going to try out some tourneys while watching some tournaments vids.

Anyone has an idea which training site has the best mtt material (if i'm allowed to post this here)?

Now this was a short tourney night, almost out in all ten. 7 flips and 2 80/20 lost, gotta love mtts . I havent checked cashiers that much, but there is a 25% chance i'm gonna face my first losing month :baby:.

Gonna quit now if I bust in the last one and take a small break by reading The Inteliggent Investor :]

Playing plenty of PLO HU as well last days and this game is actually extremely crazy. Not just for swings but also in terms of dynamics/complexity/funnyness etc. Starting to really like it.

This is not because I'm running hot, the opposite is true . 15 stacks down in EV over 2k hands at FTP, but still managed to only lose 3-4 bi. Also started at some smaller site today to try it out and for more traffic. Went pretty well, like 7 stacks up or so in 500 hands or so. All PLO100 btw.

SICK game, but I love it.

Gonna watch more Phil Galfond right now :f_love:

Next days I'll prob only play plo hu, I'll reevaluate after this.

Again played 8-10 hours of PLO HU today, love the game. I also watched 3 jman vids while waiting on opponents.

Also I feel so motivated now to improve (much more than in holdem). Next days I will play this exclusively and see how it goes. After that I might take it as my main game.

I'm also reading the Well thread of jman atm on 2p2, such a hero :f_biggrin:

Edit: Atm I'm playing plo100 on a smaller site, only have 15-16BI there so might need to deposit if a downswing occurs but dont care cause I really think my edge is already pretty big there.

First weeks I will only play against fish till I have reached 50 BI or so. From then on I will also play against regulars from time to time to work on my game. From 50BI on I will also take shots at plo200 if I can find a fish

(Already played 200 today cause a gigantic fish I played yesterday sat again at my table on 100 and asked if I wanted to play 200, ofc couldnt let this one go because I knew he was totally clueless. He called riverbets with Jxxx on 888J2. Did lose 2 buy ins pretty quick and only had 1.5BI left in my account , managed to get back be and win his other stack as well, felt like a degen a bit though :f_p:, ofc this wont happen every day)

since no one answered, poker pwnage is reportedly the best MTT training site out there

So the first few days of PLO HU have gone by.

Cliffs: - Love it
- Swing it
- Improve it
- Rake it
- Garf it:

Still trying to get a decent sample (probably only after 200k hands :f_p:, which will be tough with 150h/h), but I'm pretty sure this a game I can devote a lot of work/time to.

Edit1: This is PLO100, with some PLO200 against a fish (the place whhere the swings are :f_biggrin: )
Edit2: Currency is euro

Okay, today ended really really bad. Down over 10 stacks.

I also played so bad towards the end and spewed around quite a bit. I wanted to quit several times but I always said to myself: "just stop being a fish and focus again". Guess I better quit next time :f_biggrin:

Gonna analyse those session now

How do you play an 8-10hr HU session? My mind=blown after 3hrs

Gl sir

Hi sir, do you also play plo hu?

It is obv not one session. I just sat down at tables for 8-10 hours with breaks in between. A normal game just takes like 20-30 mins, sometimes even 2-3 hands, some 2-3 hours. But a 10 hour session against one opponent would be very tough yeah :P
