The reasoning behind it is although the idea of a blog and looking back at how your bankroll has grown is great I think it also has negative impacts upon me when i look at how in the short-term my bankroll has decreased
I.e. If I were to win say 70 big bets in a short session then 3 days later be down 50 big bets, altogether i'd still be up with presumably still a nice winrate I would feel I sortof emotional tilt in my game trying to win back losses.
Hey JMack... nice work, and enjoy the new machine! ♦
I can understand where you're coming from, but I think one of the advantages of recording more often is to remind yourself that BR drops happen, bad sessions/days/weeks happen, but that you come through them.
I have a separate spreadsheet on which I record high monthly BR totals. I also record the biggest drops in bankroll as well. Doing this I can see, for example, that at the start of February this year I dropped $80 in one day on SH $.50/$1... 80BB in one day! I can also see that since then I've not only recovered but moved up a limit within a couple of days of this happening.
Now at the time of the drop I was gutted because it was a session v some REAL UGLY FISH and I just donated. I had a bit of a rant for the first time and was pretty unhappy. Then I looked back and saw how I'd dropped 120BB over a couple of days at $.25/$.50 FR.
I can see the progression through my blog posts, both ups and downs. I find this helps give a bit of perspective when you're contemplating jumping in the bath with the electric toaster plugged in, or giving up 'cause you'll never beat these nutbags.
And, to be honest, when I finally get to a limit where just playing ABC PS.com TAG strategy is no longer enough to be successful, I'm sure my blog posts will help me progress past the points I'm struggling, because I will have seen myself wrestling with problems in the past and overcoming them!
Sorry for the long post, it's just that seeing both the trials and successes posted in blogs is the thing I enjoy most, and derive the most value from, and I felt you should perhaps consider you may derive this value too (at least in retrospect!).
