Little update of today.

Iv posted 3 hands on the forum.
Iv read 3 articles today, iv read psychology articles which i really like..
Iv watched 2 videos today, one new NL10SH (Well ok i play FR but i catched idea or two) and one NL25 FR, just was curious about the play at NL25
Iv played like ~2000 hands in the past two days

So thats + 17 VoI I like that..

Current VoI: 274

I also decided to post weekly graph every sunday. So this is my NL10 performance so far, next will be shown 12.7.
I dont wanna be bound to my winnings or to focus on them, but i wanna keep you guys informed

Im pretty sure there are gonna be more downswings, but well im slowly getting used to it..
But theres also something else..

I feel that this winrate cant be hold in the long run = i have to start losing = i dont feel like playing
Its not that strong feeling, but its there I totaly understand that the past x thousands hands doesnt at all affect the future, but the emotions are emotions Im gonna need to work with my poker mindset as i dont want this feeling to grow bigger

(I hope when i will encounter a downswing i will be more happy to play, because i will feel im gonna start winning now ♦)

Well the good thing is i have quite a big bankroll now so i dont really have to watch it and i can focus just on improving and collection VoI points.

Nice concept.

I was thinking that will be more interesting if reading an article, watching a video, and the other theoretical stuff would give you pVoI (potential Value of Improvement point). That means that there is the potential to get those points, but you don't have them yet.

And playing 1000 hands, should give you +1 VoI and release 2 pVoI, transforming them in +2 VoI. So if you have pVoI, you can release it by playing (just like a bonus ). And if you have no pVoI to release, when you make your 1000 hands, you only get +1 VoI.

You know, reading a book about how to drive a car, won't make you a better driver. But practicing what you've read will. That's the idea of the pVoI

In poker i think playing itself is not so much improving your game, of course you have to play to get into different situations and to experience different situations but i think studying is better for your improvement than playing itself.

Well of course if you combine it with pVoI points, than its quite a good idea On the other hand i dont want it to make so much complicated you know we will see

A little update

Today i wasnt in the mood to play poker or to learn or to do anything Thats right i was just lazy Just went swimming today and was out for a dinner.

So anyway, i played MTT 5000 guaranteed today evening, just not to be bored too much. 1900 players. Got busted ~650. Was doing pretty good, but then came my KK into his AA and then my set to his stronger set =). I think i would make it to the money if i wouldnt hit those But thats poker baby.

I must say i really enjoyed MTT and i think im gonna play like once a week those. But probably some smaller buy-in, i dont want to suck my BR with those.
The cool thing is im really improving my reading, when playing just that one single table, focusing, watching them play every hand, i have to say after few hands i really knew what to expect from everyone at the table =).

Update incomiiiiing

Hello everyone.

Just wanted to let you know hows my improving going Its quite ok, but yesterday i experienced the tilt a bit. Iv lost just 6$ because i was tilting, so its not a big deal, but it reminded me how important it is to stay focus etc.

The reason for my tilt was
1.I decided to play 6 tables (usually i play 4)
2.I was chating with friends while playing (i knooooooow :/)
3.There was this fish that made me crazy ♦

Anyway after i realized im not controling myself 100% i stopped playing and im proud of myself for doing that =).

And how does my VoI stand??

Well since last update iv been reading a lot. Iv read a lot psychological arcticles + some NL silver articles. All together 8 arcticles. Cool heh? ♠_cool:

Iv played about 1000 hands (i wasnt playing that much, but well get to that later)
And i watched one video yesterday.

Thats + 20 VoI which is fine.

Im not sure if im gonna play today, but im definetely gonna read + watch and study =).
Yesterday i was decided to have a break today and not to play. But

1. I feel fine today and i feel like playing
2. I will be moving my BR to everest to recieve my 300$ bonus while learning and playing. Im looking forward to that, since it gonna be something new and im excited about that =). The problem is the transaction of my BR will take about 2-3 days, and since im gonna do it tomorrow, i think i shall play today and then have a break of poker for 2 days

Im now having a break, since my BR is on the way to Everest from Stars and its gonna take like 2 days. So i can spend my freetime reading articles and watching videos.

Im quite excited about clearing my bonus at everest, hopefully its gonna push me to play more and it will keep me on my +EV line

Well i guess i will let you guys know when i start playing there, am gonna tell you what is Everest like and if i like it and etc
My VoI is for sure gonna improve during those free days.

So i started playin at Everest Poker.
Its not that bad. The traffic is of course much worse compared to Stars but you can find 4 profitable tables with no problem and since i usually play during evening hours its not bothering at all.

Clearing the bonus should take like 40k hands so i hope i will handle that in 60 days.

Anyway i did some studies in last days of course.

Iv read 7 articles. Iv watched one video and yesterday iv been watching the Coaching with Hasenbraten.
And i played ~1k hands since last update

Thats +23 VoI.

VoI - 317

Im getting deeper in silver articles, so i hope in like 2 months, when i would possibly be climbing up to NL25 i should be well prepared.

Hey there JuiceQuadre! From the Czech Republic and w/out GF?! I was in Prague at 2005, and I must say your country is the one with the hottest girls I've ever been

Now about poker, I'd recommend you to stick around a bit more at FR, for SH you need to be looser preflop thus you are going to be in more marginal situations postflop and well you need more experience. I see you are "getting deeper in silver articles" if you haven't read them yet, I think you definitely should stick to FR at least until you read and understand them well.

Of course at microlimits you can easily beat SH too, but if you are doing good with FR currently, why change that? Just my opinion though

PD: I'd consider tryng SH with at least 1k VoI

And you are also right, why to switch if one is doing well at FR in the moment

Today i did some studies, but it wasnt easy as i was drinking heavily yesterday..
Im getting used to the fact that every satturday i feel a bit slowbrained (have i just invented new word?)

But still i managed to read 3 arcticles and rewatch 1 video( i have to rewatch them since iv seen them all )
+ I played 1k hands during today so thats like +10 VoI.

I wanted to play more today, because i havent been playing much this week. But i dont want to push myself into playing when i dont feel like doing it. I want poker to stay being fun for me so i dont want to put myself under any pressure.
Still i hope ill handle my VoI goal for July and i hope ill be able to clear my Everest poker bonus.

Oh and you wanna know what is Everest like? Well im sure if i ever get back to Stars i will never ever again whine about tables there changing too fast etc.
No seriously, Everest isnt that bad. What i do like is the fact that there still are 10 seats tables at Everest + i think less ppl here are sitting out (At stars my average number of opponnents was 7)

I played like 500 hands today and im probably not gonna play more since in a while im out to friends place to play some live poker with my friends and enjoy the night ♠_cool:

Hey guys, just a little VoI upgrade =).

Watched a video, posted 4 hands, read 2 articles and played 1k hands =).

It makes +12VoI since last update =)..

Iv nearly read all silver articles now, so hopefully starting from tomorrow ill be in the mood to focus more on the preflop,flop,turn and river articles, reread them and think about stuff inside since i need to fix all my leaks in basic lines before i can think about NL25 =).. Also i should read at least one psychology article/day to keep my mind in right zone

Oh i had wonderfull night session tonight. Played only like 3 hours but with nice winrate of 60bb/100. I dont care about winrate that much (i mean we all do, but im trying not to as much as possible) but it made me feel really good. I think one should enjoy good feelings during running-hot-sessions, right?=)
Oh after that i went running, there was warm fresh night out there and i was enjoying it really a lot since was in a good mood. (Running in the night when the air is fresh is totally +EV, try it :P)

Seriously, after reading your blog I have no doubt you will make it big, unless you lose the mental battle with poker(quitting). Never quit. Just take a break. imo, this is what makes a pro. In other words, you can't win the "hand" if you fold.

Observations:
- You could give yourself VoI for swimming because its +EV. At 20 you take exercise for granted but I would love to have access to cheap swimming right now.
- Re-reading an article or re-viewing a video should give you VoI too.
- Don't write "+EV" so much in your blog lol
- Thanks for not posting all your beats
- I'm not a big fan of graphs but thats just me. ♦

Talking about exercises.. Iv read you had some problem with ur back and did some exercises? I have the problem with my neck backbone (not sure how to call it in english).. Iv been at some rehabilitations with that, but no big help.. I seriously must make myself exercise it every day, because its killing me, sometimes cant sleep well because of it etc..

Got you.. Well im trying not to fell in love with graphs and winrate and such.. But i know, when i do read some blog im always interested in others graphs, so thats why i post one every week so that someone who actually reads that (not sure if theres one single person regularly reading ) has the idea of how im doing right now..

Good luck with ur NL50 battle im sure you can handle that, its just matter of time.. Its like you said, we only lose when we quit, who cares how long does it take to be profitable at NL200+, just keep the game fun for you and you can get there someday

imo all nba players have a good IQ, you need to be intelligent to think ahead of what the defense is going to do, not just physical condition.

I bet theres tons of athletic players that don't make it because of low IQ and/or losing the "mental battle".

Got ur point.. But well.. tactics in team sports can be learned and he can get it under his skin without big IQ..
I dont know, maybe hes not that stupid, I dont know him..
But my friends causin studies the same University Iverson did, and he says story are being told there how stupid Iverson was ^^
