Hi Classical,

When you become a higher status at PartyPoker (I think this is what u were referring to) your strategypoints WON'T be trippled. Only the standard points you gain at partypoker counts for strategypoints....

Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this....
But this shouldn't stop you from going for gold ;) You can reach it and there are some articles waiting for you :)

Good luck!

Hi Classical!

Zeffke is right. Your StrategyPoints won't be trippled. If you reach Kings status on PartyPoker your PartyPoints will be trippeled but that doesn't affect your StrategyPoints because only the basic PartyPoints count for the StrategyPoints calculation.

But I hope you will get the gold status anyway. Go go go!

Good luck at the tables!

he went from 0,25/0,50 FL to 0,5/1 FL, and there on party you get 3 times more partypoints. so eventualy also 3 times more PS points

Henne explains it better than I did. I moved up a limit where you get 3x the PP compared to the previous limit. I don't even know what my status on Party is :)

Well done Classical and it's good to see you're going well. I'm following a bit in your footsteps but I'm at the .15/.30 stage working my way up to 150 slowly but surely =)

gl at the tables!

175 Strategy Points for my first week 0,50/1,00 (9-15 Dec). I'll have to increase my volume a bit more to make Gold! BR was down to 300, now at 326. Not much else to report. Primary goal remains making Gold in the next 3/4 weeks.

Merry Christmas everyone! On this nice Xmas day I had my biggest $ gain in a single session: $45 in <300 hands. In BB that's my second best session (relatively) yet.
Obviously upswing. My play is average for my capacities. Some stupid moves, but villains made even stupider moves!
Anyway, main goal is still gold, but BR is now at 385, so almost halfway to SH (famous last words).

I played 6 tables simultaneously yesterday, and 7 today. Quality of play deteriorates a bit, also since my monitor is not very big, so the tables overlap, but I'm not timing out, or making huger-than-normal blunders, so it's acceptable. For the time being I'm going to stick to it, to assure I make Gold. Then I'll scale back to 4 again. One advantage to playing more tables is that at some point I really lost track of how I was doing overall (I tend to estimate that every 20 hands or so, not very constructive). There simply wasn't time.

Anyway, BR now at 399, on course for Gold status, over and out.

Some more 7-tabling Saturday, but with rather less success: $50 down... Fortunately one of my tables caught the "Happy Hand" or something, and we all got $6.25 :)
My play this time clearly wasn't suited for 7 tables, as I timed out on one table twice, and also made more mistakes than usual, which I think accounts for perhaps some $15 of those 50. But I did play 500+ hands in one session (record high for me), so contributed to my SP/Gold goal.

Yesterday a day off, today a small session on 4 tables. Much nicer and quiter, and also more interesting because you can watch the opponents better. One guy donked the flop, and I played call flop/raise turn with a not-so-strong draw with some SD value, and he folded on the turn. Very next hand I'm again against him, and I hit a set on a board with an A, so I could play call flop/raise turn again, in the knowledge that he would either have a worse made hand himself or that he would want to see me to SD because of the previous hand. Sure enough he held AK, and had to pay me off nicely :)
BR at 362.

Ahem, exactly 800 SP in the last 4 weeks (thanks to 308 SP last week), so Gold goal is done! :)
I'm now going to read those nice articles, and continue playing at a slower rate on 4 tables. Yesterday 30BB down, BR at 333.

Hi Classical!

Nice progress. But please be careful with multitabling. If you start making stupid moves you should play less tables even if that means that you collect less SPs.

Good luck at the tables!

Yeah, I'm done with the 7-tabling. It served its purpose, but I'm back to 4-tabling now, which I can handle comfortably when fit.

Weekly update :)

I'm busy reading and digesting the Gold articles. Some good stuff there, but a lot I already knew from discussions with hand judges. Still, going to reread them. I also found the content week articles on the German site, and I can read the Gold ones too now, so there's a *lot* to read.
I think I'm going to focus a bit more on studying and a bit less on playing, also since I'm back in the RL grind, and there's just less time to play without interruptions.

I passed the 2000 SP mark, so should be getting the PT/PA licenses in the coming Month. I can then take a look at my stats for the very first time. And of course incorporating PA into my play will be a next major step.

BR was down to 300 again, but now at 377. I seem to have established myself ok on this limit, and don't mind to spend some more time here. SH will be attempted upon reaching 500. The planning was before the summer I think. That should be doable.

Great work Classical ^^ Good luck with FR and I hope you make it to SH soon so I might see ya there, my advice is start out with 1-2 tables MAX and sit down with your shorthand SHC and grind out the hours of learning that thing, I'm only just beginning to make moves on memory of it and I've played ~20 hours of SH :P

Good luck at the tables!

btw what's your name on partypoker? I'm dakrynveii

Plodding along, plodding along. BR went down to about 300 *again*, but got caught in an upswing the last 2 days and am now at 408, first time over 400 and all time high.

@Terrorblade: thanks :) I will certainly keep your advice in mind when I switch to SH, but it may still be a while. My PP userid resembles mij PS nick :)

BTW, if you can read German, go visit the German strategy pages. Tons of stuff there, from all the content weeks and instructional hands and such.

No licences yet... :)

A bit less time for playing these days, but I still get in enough hands to stay Gold for at least a while still.

Been reading some of the extra strategy content on the German site, and I'm focusing on a particular subject. For instance: now I'm reading all articles on river play (Bronze Silver and Gold) until I feel I've understood them. Then I will start on another subject (turn play maybe).
My riverplay has certainly improved. I'm playing b/f a lot more where previously I would play c/c or b/c, and I think this change is +EV.

BR now at 450. There is also some progress in detaching myself from the direct result of a hand, and viewing things statistically rather than concretely. For instance: don't think "he's bluffing, so I call" but instead: "he is able to bluff this once every four times, so I have the odds to make a +EV call."

Still no licenses. Support said they send them out once or twice a Month. I guess they'll arrive soon.

Not much time for playing these days, may lose Gold status temporarily.
Still reading and discussing hands though (on the Dutch forum).
BR was up to 475, now 430 so some usual smallish fluctuations. No licenses yet.In about two weeks I'll have more time again, and the licenses should have arrived by then, so watch this space. To be continued! :)

Well, I think it's time to take the step. In yesterday's session BR tipped 500, but unfortunately when blinding out I lost two large pots with good hands. BR is 488 now, but I also have $53 in partypoints so I'm going to make the switch to SH anyway.

I'm still on the edge of Gold status, but I read that you won't be donwgraded in the middle of the Month, so I have like 3 weeks to get the 800 SPs, which should be doable. The "official" Gold content I've read now, and with all the additional stuff I'm still reading the Bronze and Silver articles.

Goals for now:
- Integrate PT/PA in my game ONCE THE LICENSES ARRIVE!!
- Establish myself on 0,50/1,00 SH
- Move up to 1/2 SH

For the last goal I need $1000, so that's 500BB on the current limit. I'm going to be a bit conservative and am aiming to reach this before the end of this calendar year. It will all depend on the number of hands I can play.

Should I be hit by a DS, I will remain on SH up to a BR of $300 or sooner when I feel uncomfortable.
