When someone asks you what you do you just simply say "I make up to $2k per day."
After the stunned silence and the inevitable question to follow that statement you tell them poker.
"I am a professional who constantly analyzes the online market to take chances where the risk/reward ratio makes transactions profitably for me on the long run. My customers come from all over the world and we are meeting on several online platforms where we sometimes initiate multiple transfers at once."

A lot of people seem to have a problem with how poker players make their money off other peoples bad habits... Poker has ruined the life of people and families... And it seems like a lot of you guys tend to forget that 
TBH if I was a pro poker player I would not want to tell semi "random" people that I don't know very well what I do...
so my gf and i went shopping yesterday for an engagement ring. we've talked about it and will probably get married next yr. the plan was just to look around at prices/sizes etc and make a decision on it later. but i ended up coming home 5.4k poorer 
yeh we found this amazing ring so perfect so we bought it.
taking a page from nibb's blog, and transcribing a conversation.
Me: I'm supposed to spend 3 month's salary on a ring thats the custom right?
Mrs: haha yeh I think so.
Me: ok well based on my projected salary this month the shop needs to pay me $900 for the ring...

so i was 12 tabling at the start of the month... every morning i would have maybe 5 hands that i had marked over 9hrs from the previous day...
went back to 9 tabling, think its better for my game... aaaannnndddd this morning i have 49 marked hands ... its mostly pzhon's fault... he plants these little seeds of doubt into my head... lots of future game simulations to do

No-one forces anyone to deposit money into poker sites. Most people do not rely on the money the use to play poker.. I don't see what's so wrong with making a hobby profitable. For me sports betting is worse.

she was a bit hesitant at the start (as was i) now she has come around.
i used to get pretty bad mood swings relative to how i would swing during the day. Ive been working hard on my mindset and its a lot easier to keep control of the stress now.
when i started having 5k+ months consistently she started coming around...
