Back to Basics
______________________________________________________________
Just over 3 months have passed since my real money poker journey. Name a NL hold'em game and i have tried it. Many ups and downs, a total of 401 SNG's but very little profit. Although 401 SnG's may not seem as much to most of you. It does include alot of 45man Sng's which take 2 hours each, 4 tabling st SnG's taking around a hour each and around 70 HU SNG's which took between 20-40 mins each. So if you consider those facts, i have probably spent well over a hundred hours playing. and i barely played in december.
I quickly gave up on most, saying i had so much bad luck. Constant whining about them. And it is partly true if you see how i ran hugely below EV in just 4k NL2 SH hands. But those were pretty much the only graphs i had, it's hard to put something in perspective without graphs. It's hard to tell how you really did. That's why i looked up my sharkscope graphs. And i saw a few interesting things but more on that later.
Although i was succesful in HU SnG's i did decide to give up on them for now. I realised i do not have the right mind set for them yet. 4tabling SnG's and not tilting is something i can do with little trouble even with many bad beats. But single tabling HU sng's and losing against complete donkey's.. well that's alot harder to not tilt from. I read part of an article about it, and i am probably taking it to personal. Seeing headsup games as the best player should win, a true test of your skills. My ego being way to big
Back to the sharkscope graphs. Here they are:
(in the third part should also be $1 MT sng, forgot to add that)

ROI graph

i realised a few interesting things that i had forgotten.
1 I played breakeven for 75 $1 ST SNG
2 Then i somehow lost 35 Buy-ins in 40 SNG (<- worst downswing ever, stop laughing with ur 10BI downswing in 200 SNG)
3 I Crush the $0,25 like you've never seen before with 125% ROI lol
4 $1 SNG's do not like me as you can see im running -20% ROI and i highly doubt im that bad.
5 I'm running quite decently at $2 HU sng with 5% ROI. it's not that high but it also shows im not biggest luckbox ever in them as the graph seems to look like.
Today is 2010, a new year. New chances and hopefully huge upswings
I'm going to put my ego aside and go back to the basics. Something has been going wrong, and im going to stricly follow the strategie articles. (i got all silver articles on my ipod
)
The plan:
Practice 100 hands in ICM every day.
read atleast 1 article and try to put it in practice every day.
Play DoN's with the help of the silver article.
If DoN's don't work out i will go back to the very basics and play SSS.
that way i won't tilt as i have solid strategies, there are very few tricky situations or things that would make me tilt unlike Heads up SNG.
last but not least, Happy New Year!! ♦
