Quick and important update

There has been some change of plans unfortunately. I say unfortunately because my bankroll challenge and Asia trip are in jeopardy from this point on.
The thing is, deadline for apartment mortgage got moved to 1st of November this year instead of 1st of January 2017. Why or how this happened I won't go into too much detail or any for that matter but the most important things are following: 1) I need to save more then 10.9k$ for it (12.1k actually) 2) It will possibly affect and delay my Asia trip.

Additional 1.2k 2 months earlier puts a great spin on other plans. My plan is to play 500 hours in remaining 4 months which is 125 hours steady grind per month with or without days off. For September and October that is 250 hours which with expected hourly on average of 25$ should bring me 6250$. With money that I have now and assuming I save all of that money and not have big spending months like July and August, I can expect to save 12.1k for apartment mortgage and 5k for actual bankroll. If in those 250 hours my hourly is less then 25$, BR will be lower then 5k and of course Asia trip will be in jeopardy even further.
Besides having to save additional 1.2k in 2 months less time, I also need to account additional expenses which are around 370$ for my remaining sessions until the end of the year and around 300$ for final dental main work.

Either way, it will be very exciting end of the year. I plan to create mini challenges for each month and for the end of the year major 1 all together.

Stick around for more details towards the end of the month and 1st of next month.
This month or whats left of it, I will spend training hard, regenerating, using this free time to spend with family friends and girls. From 1st of September, there will be brutal time management focusing on 4 trainings per week, minimum 4 sessions per day + teaching 1 hour per day on average. That should bring me to 500 hours by the end of the year and get all the things done.

Unless I get some nice multiplier and win it again, remaining of the year will bring easily 15k games more on 15s!

Enjoy your day and week on and off the tables!

I see tons of poker players having no life balance or priorities in their time management. They either just play poker and do 1 or 2 other things in their life besides it or they play very little poker and have other things balanced. Personally I found the best way to be productive is to do all the things that you want to do and find time for them. Living a happy life each day is key to maximum productivity. Sacrificing now to get benefits later is great on paper but in reality you loose so many amazing things in the progress. Since I returned to working out and sport lifestyle which is in my own mission and vision as one of the top priorities, other things in my life have also clicked in all the other areas. Personally, for me poker is all about making money which allows me to have freedom in other life areas. Right now I am saving for apartment mortgage then I will save for bankroll and Asia trip. Next year I will save for Vegas trip + for money that will allow me to turn to automation of my income.

Playing 30 instead of 60 minute sessions today. Testing to see A game level. So far working great. It helps to play recreational players but most important thing is I am very pleased with post flop and adjustments in HU I am making. Grinded 2/3 sessions today in coffee place with music in the background etc.

Yes you may. I created my own in PT4. Used default Tournament HUD and then added about 4 more lines with 4-5 stats in each line.

Thank you for the hint. Just saw the big multiplier screenshot with the added HUD. Grinded the lower Spins just with a very basic one. On the higher ones it becomes much more valuable i guess with the smaller playerpool.

From big multiplier that is HU HUD, Coffee's. I am not good with creating such complex HUD so I got that one (you can get it for 100$).

Nice 20 buy in swing in 1 hour of grind = beauty of Spins.

5 sessions in today, a bit over 3 hours grind. Will do 2 more sessions. 30 minute sessions are definitely better for my focus. Will strongly consider grinding every day like that.

A bit swingy day at the tables today. Particularly proud with volume I put all with 30 minute timer for sessions (5.28 hours!). 1 session was not played great, made more mistakes then I would have liked or encountered opponents that when I adjusted they were on the top of the range. Another session was missing spots post flop but overall the whole day is good. If I do whole September and October this way I have no doubt that I will save another 5k in that period.
Also today, I cleared 40$ bonus from rake back. That makes it 500$ in RB this month - very nice. So from Poker I made today 60 pre and 40 from rb total 100$.

Here is the graph for poker today:

Outside of poker, I played for fun a system that I used to do really well at before when I use to bet on football games. I picked 5 games from English Premier league and played 4+5/5 system (6 combinations total each 10$ invested). Games and outcomes/winners I picked were: Arsenal, Everton, Liv-Tot both teams to score, Leicester and Man UTD. 1st 4 games ended very well for me and then it was brutal to watch MAN UTD shoot 20+ times only to win the game in added time 1-0 (goal scored in 92nd minute). So I won all 5 games and from 60$ invested I got total profit of 437.69$! Before I went home from coffee place (spent whole day there grinding and here and there checking the games on TV) I did another 60$ bet this time on system 2+3/3 which has 4 combinations (15$). I picked 3 games in live betting from Serbian Super League that I watch and follow. I picked Radnicki Nis (my home team) to win, Cukaricki to win vs Javor away and Napredak Krusevac to draw vs Vozdovac. Radnicki won 2-0, Napredak played 0-0 and unfortunately Cukaricki played draw 0-0. I guessed 2/3 games and made profit of 26.62$! Betting odds that I guessed there were 2.10 and 2.75! If Cukaricki won I would have made another 400+$ of profit - so close ;)

So today from betting I made 464.31$ and from poker 100$. Total profit for the day 564.31$. Not bad at all!

Tomorrow I have several things that I will get to do. Morning spend time with family after which I am meeting with a female friend for drinks. After that I will meet with my friend who came from Belgrade and then start my grind for the day LATE. Again I will do 30 minute sessions and tomorrow if I do 6 of them I would be very pleased. Also, I will likely need to meet another girl and consider checking what football games are going on tomorrow to check if there is some value bet for single or system 2+3/3 or 4+5/5.

Enjoy your weekend and remaining of August both on and off the tables!

Update in regards to time management and priorities + some extras

I will do my best to lay out things as they were, are and where I am heading. Hopefully you can follow and read it in 1 go for all of it to make sense.

Since I came back from USA I prioritized following things in my life: 1) Making money from poker in new format (spins) to save money for apartment mortgage 2) Teach music and guitar, help people regardless of what income that may bring 3) Work out, loose weight and implement long term those habits 4) Spend time with family friends and girls 5) Watch all Partizan Belgrade games + more sports

Since I am about 1 month short of making and saving money for apartment mortgage, I can say that I am very well on track with main priority while in Serbia.
Teaching is going great and I am very happy with students I am working with and how they are improving. Without teaching doing just poker would not bring me balance that I need in my life right now.
Hiring my friend and Sensei for CrossFit type work outs was and is the best investment I made this year. Dropped 11kgs in about 11-12 weeks, learned a lot about nutrition, work outs, increased endurance stamina and strength. I will go to weight myself for body fat % and all the detailed stats when I get to 80kgs which is 4.2kgs from this point.
Spending time with family friends and girls is going well. I would say extremely well actually. My grind definitely suffered in August and July due to lots of celebrations, going out and hooking up with girls. Spending time with family I never look from the perspective of wasted time, on contrary it is much needed and appreciated. However, I could definitely bring down time with girls and friends. Doing it on daily basis on average for 3+ hours or so is too much for end of the year goals. So I definitely plan to say a lot of no's in the following months and to dedicate those hours to extra grind.
Finally watching Partizan games and sports in general also took massive amount of hours. EURO then RIO + Serbian Super League and qualifying games for champions league and UEFA cup... I would say I watched at least 200 hours easily in 2 months if not more. I look forward in the following period cutting that way down, just to watch Partizan Belgrade games.

Here is now the end of the year plan and key priorities:
- Grind more to save 5k in next 2 months in order to be on track with Bankroll and Asia challenge as well.
- Continue teaching my students and providing them maximum help and value in all areas.
- Continue with 4 times per week training and nutrition tracking, drop 4.2kgs more and go check body fat% results.
- Continue spending time with family, decrease time with girls and friends and use that to rest and regenerate more for heavy work outs and daily grind + teaching.

Monthly time management in numbers:
- Grinding 125 hours
- Teaching 30 hours
- Training 32 hours
- Spending time with family 45 hours
- Sleeping 210 hours
- Spending time with friends 45 hours
- Regenerating in between sessions with meals water and other time spent away from computer 60 hours

Total 487 hours out of 720 hours if month has 30 days.

So there is plenty of time left but that is only case when all these things are set up properly.
Key will be to optimize time management in a way not to burn out myself or to overwork and tire myself. I want to enjoy playing poker and not to play it like a robot. Those kind of grinds tend to lead into auto pilot bad game and isolation - from my experience. I will fight that with as many brakes and regenerating as possible even finish day earlier if that means not meeting total grind goal.

Word or 2 about remaining 4 months:
- Depending on the grind, variance and other life factors, I may get to save for Asia trip or not. In ideal scenario in 4 months I will save 8k and be "all set" but thing don't work out that way in poker of course. I could literally have BE or loosing month in September and then save 1-3k in October and just be set for mortgage and be on track for BR but not Asia trip. So I am all aware that anything can happen, can go good or bad and I am mentally prepared for any scenario.
- I will not sacrifice my life priorities and balance for the sake of poker. This should be clear. I don't consider poker most important thing in my life right now in fact it is on the far 7th place (family, health/working out, playing and teaching music and guitar, friends and girls, traveling and learning about different cultures and connecting with people, automating my income and then on the far 7th is poker). So I use poker to make and save money and it is the job that causes a lot of stress of course. I would not wish people who seek not to be lab grind rats and just having 1-2-3 interests in life to become professional players. I have seen and keep seeing how lots of pros are either quitting the game, taking a break or looking for other ways to make a living. People that come to mind that I have a lot of respect for are Joey Ingram, Fedor Holtz and Dan Coleman. Go figure why with all the money, fame and crushing knowledge they all want out for time being. But this is discussion for some other time for sure, I just wanted to mention where in my life poker takes place now. It used to be before in top 3-4 priorities, I sacrificed a lot to get to 25$+ hourly that I have now and I am happy with my efforts that got me where I am. However, I don't plan in any near future to dedicate time to studying, improving, moving to higher limits, chasing some statuses on sites or such. I just use poker right now to make money, get a paycheck if you will and that's it. If in the future comes time when I want to become the best there is and hunt down Fedor Holtz or simply challenge myself more in this game, I will let you all know. Until that day comes, grinding to make money mode is on but not to the extreme of screwing up sleeping, training, spending time with family friends and girls etc. This is why you should probably bet against me saving 10k more by the end of the year :)
- This all leads me to end of the year goal: Save 10k in remaining 4 months.

How to achieve this?
For mortgage, bankroll and Asia trip I need to save 8k. I will likely need to earn additional 2k to covered dental work + remaining training with Sensei as well as fees for withdrawing money and other life expenses (phantom expenses). So 10k in 4 months from poker or 2.5k per month to save from it. With expected 25$ hourly I will need 400 hours by the end of the year if variance goes well. In case variance goes in the other direction down, I will put 500 hours in with expected hourly of 20$. If hourly is less then 20$ in those hours then of course I will not be ready for Asia trip but very likely will pay off mortgage and have "some" money for BR. Still would mark that as a huge win considering my life priorities and how I came to Serbia from USA with 900$ , spent 400$ within 24 hours (rent 200$ and going out with friends another 200$ celebrating heavy). So from 500$ 2nd day in Serbia, now close to 10k or so money, extremely pleased happy and proud with what I accomplished so far to say the least. Everything else doesn't matter.

So as you see, I am ready for all the outcomes. Whatever happens with variance I will keep pushing going for 500 hours max remaining 4 months hence 125 hours grind per month. It would be awesome if I hit 12000x and finish the whole thing in 1 game - I am pulling my hopes towards that as well ;)

Enjoy remaining of the year whatever your goals and priorities are!

Another update, this time in relation to Asia trip.

This morning I saw offer for Thailand Phuket for 10 days with breakfast, return flight, visa and airport transfer for total of 570 euro. I sent it to 3 of my friends who I know are interested and want to go to Thailand. 1 of them said he wasn't interested in that deal since he wants to go in the end of the January for longer time. 2 of them said that they are very interested and are working on figuring out ASAP if they will go or not.
As far as my situation goes, it is very clear and obvious. I don't have right now money for neither 10 nor 60 days in Thailand. However, 10 days with this sick deal would cost me 800-900$ including everything and 60 days on 20th of January I would need minimum 3k$. This promo offer is too sick to miss in my opinion because return plane ticket is 388 euro from Belgrade to Phuket. Without this sick prize ticket easily goes between 550-600 euro. That is a lot of money when it comes to prize difference especially when you go for 10 days somewhere. I can just use those 200 euro difference in ticket for expenses over there!!!
I spoke to the agency 3 times and emailed them earlier tonight about possibility of ticket booking for 20th of January but for 10 days. If they have the same price of 388 euro I will make a payment tomorrow for it and be set for 10 days in Thailand on January 20th. If the ticket price is 500-600 euro range, I will very much consider going to Thailand on 16th of November. I would like a lot to go with some of my friends of course and not alone. 1 of them definitely said no so he is out. 2 of them are very interested but need to check with work and financial situation. I hope by the end of this week latest I will hear a positive response from 1 of them and to make payment upfront for ticket to get that out of the way.
This way I can focus in next 70 days before the trip to save 3k for mortgage and another 2k for trip and BR. That is the amount that I feel is very possible to save ,5k in 250 hours of grind (20$ hourly or more).

Situation is very open and tomorrow I will hear from agency regarding ticket price in January. Ideal situation would be to go there in January since that will give me 4 instead of 2.5 months to save money. However, if that doesn't work out and 1 of my friends decides to join me, I will go on 16th of November with him. If they all bail out, I will wait for better time and people - might even consider going on my own in the end as it is my dream reality and passion and I don't want to depend on their realities when it comes to such important matter.

So option 1) Cheap ticket for 20th of January - I am in and all good with 10+ days stay 2) 1 of the friends decides to tag along and we go on 16th of November together 3) Both friends bail out, no good price for January and I a) Stay in Serbia until I have gathered enough BR and life roll to comfortably go there at some point in the future b) I push it regardless of everything and go there for 10 days to make my dream come true in this year already.

Ideal option is 1st but everything is possible. Things change in life very quickly. People also change with their priorities and I get that easily. I am however not going to back out from Thailand trip. It is just matter of time and moment before I go there. This sick 570 euro deal including it all for 10 days is something that should not be passed or let go in my opinion.
Other important factors for 10 vs 60 days trip that I considered today:
1) I don't loose my apartment, rent, bills during this period 2) I can actually take a vacation those 10 days from teaching and grinding and just enjoy it vs needing to get guitar brutal internet set up grind etc 3) I get to come back fresh regenerated and keep pushing harder for some other future trip which could also be 10 days for 800-900$ total vs spending 3k for 60 days in Thailand only. My actual fantasy land is Japan not Thailand and that is country I would love to visit the most!
4) I get to miss out on 10 days of training with my Sensei vs 60. This is huge thing for me, I am on a roll with working out eating healthy and tracking my calories and diet, I don't want to fuck that up in any way and failure is not an option in this area as this is in my top 3 priorities in life now.

So there you go. A lot happened in 24 hours. I look forward to next 24 hours hoping that there will be some great news regarding plane ticket and my friends financial situation.

Enjoy remaining of August whatever you are up to!

New day - news for Asia trip.

I got email back from tourist agency and they confirmed the same price for ticket and accommodation for 20th of January 2017. During the day my friend confirmed that he has enough money for down payment and that he will definitely go with me. During the day I talked to agency with idea to confirm that 20th of January plane ticket. They let me know that the ticket which was available this morning for 388 euro now costs 40ish euro more. Instead of flying on 20th, the offered for the same price 21st of January and I accepted it. Final thing they said is to call tomorrow and check the reservation again in case they don't sell out that date for such prize!
Tomorrow the plan is then to scan passport, withdraw money and make a payment via post office or bank transfer for ticket only! My friend will do the same and that then leaves a lot of space for 2 of my other friends to join us there and for us to discuss accommodation details (if they do decide to join us).
So tomorrow or day after latest I shall have ticket ready for 388 euro after which sometime in December and January I can take care of all the rest of the things. Visa through agency is 55 euro; Accommodation could be 100 euro per 10 days or more without breakfast (will consider whether or not to take it with breakfast); Transfers from Airport to accommodation booked through agency is 32 euro (agency worker advised me to take it on the spot since it is 1/2 price cheaper!); Rest of the money is for health insurance (will check, should be 1 euro per day so 10-15 euro tops) and of course food drinks and money to spend there.
I would say that around 900$ tops will cost me everything to be there for 10 days which is fantastic deal without holding back while there and actually enjoying the vacation.

10 day deal is far better for me. I slept on it last night, taught about it and with clear head I am 100% behind my decision. I mentioned key reasons yesterday but 1 that I didn't mention is very key and that is huge financial pressure to make 3k for it instead of 900$ by 21st of January. With 900$ I can have awesome 10 day vacation there while with 3k I will spend more then half of money for just getting there with accomodation and then I would have less then 1.5k for 60 days to spend which in my opinion is very tight budget for such long time ( I would have to grind to make money while there which again puts pressure while on vacation etc). So I am 100% happy with decision I made and it makes me happy that my friend will definitely go with me and that there is possibility that another friend or two might join us there. They are both welcome of course, the more the better. I will go all in in those 10 days to really enjoy my time there and discover everything there is in those 10 days minus the ladyboys :f_eek:

In the next update I will list rather quick August financial profit since in 40ish minutes I need to be downtown to watch a movie in the cinema.

Enjoy your week on and off the tables!

August

Money made:
Poker 5055+500RB = 5555$
Teaching 302$
Investing 426.98$
Total 6283.98$

Money spent:
2037.60$

Total saved

4246.38$

Total money saved in all accounts: 9150$

Quick analysis for August:
- Grinding 70 hours. Initial plan was way over 120 hours but grinded way less due to hitting 2nd 200x and winning it mid way through the month.
- ITM for the whole month not satisfactory. It was tough period for grinding, at times mind fuck and brutal but I am of course great full and pleased that I ended in over 5.5k profit from Poker alone
- Had lots of expenses this month. Some of the major ones, over 1k$ was from 550$ in celebrations for 200x twice, 350$ invested in 40 training sessions with my Sensei, birthday gifts, things I got for my dad, Nike shoes I bought for training, taxi rides to training and back etc. Overall I expect to spend on average 700$ per month excluding dental, Thailand and rest of training expense.
- Couldn't teach guitar and music 3 weeks due to finger injury from weight that dropped in the training. I taught lesson today after 3 weeks and my finger is 95% healed, I am continuing to teach 100% from today which is awesome news.

What's in play for September and rest of the year
- Goal 1: 3k to save for remaining of mortgage from this point on + 388 euro on top of it that I will spend tomorrow or day after on plane ticket for Thailand.
- Goal 2: 3k more to save for bankroll. Ideally by 1st of November. Less then 3k will be OK but would likely need to go to 7s so 3k would be ideal.
- Goal 3: Save additional 500$ for Thailand trip, 300$ for expenses there and 200$ for remaining of the things to get there (visa, transfer, insurance, accommodation). This will likely happen in December and the other 6k+ by the December.
- How to achieve it all: Save 5k in 2 months, 2.5k per month average by 1st of November. Spend 3k from it + rest saved on mortgage and be left with 2k with BR. Grind November and save additional 2k total from which 1k will go for bankroll and 1k will go to dental expense and rest of training sessions. December use to save as much as possible to have additional money for both Thailand, life expenses and bankroll which ideally would be another 2k. So total goal is to save 9k in next 4 months from which it is key to save 5k in next 2 months which would allow me to be way less stressed in November and December just to save 2k in each of those months instead of 2.5k.

Solid plan, all pieces will fall into place I have no doubt. There could be some great things happening and changing. Maybe my dad will get some financial push in the meanwhile which would postpone mortgage by January as it was initially planned. That would be a huge relief for me but there is only slim hope of that happening now. That is why I will push September and October very hard and hope for the best.

Hope your month was enjoyable and positive and I also hope that September will bring me minimum 2.5k money saved :)

Quick update regarding 4 things

Grind
1st session completed this morning, ran well and made 180$ in 1 hour or so.

Asia trip
Payed 385 euro for ticket. Now need to gather 500$ more by 1st week of January for all the rest of the expenses.

Weight loss
Since I started using MyFitnessPal app and started tracking and taking care of my calorie intake, I dropped down 4.2kgs in 29 days. I will get a tape measure to measure my waist for progress as well. The way I feel is phenomenal + I notice difference in clothes that are wear (there is more space in them, I can fit easier with defined muscles in my M size shirts and people tell me all the time that I dropped weight and look awesome). My weight is now 83.8kg - 1st time officially bellow 84kgs after long time! Look forward hitting 80kgs in 4-5-6 weeks from now and then going for final 77kgs which will lead to brutal body fat % (10% or less) and look of course :)

Rest of the day
2 guitar and music lessons + grinding and regenerating. I will go for 3 more grind sessions today minimum despite all the things done and completed (just got back from brutal training)
Today in main training in exactly 25 minutes did 75 push ups, 50 hang power cleans, 50 jerks and 10 rope climbs. It was broken down in 5RFT (reps for time) with Hang power clean x 10 , Push ups x 15, Jerks x 10 and Rope climbs x2. Expected to complete training in minimum 30 minutes but I did it in 25 total. I am now maxed out and will definitely feel muscle pain in 48 hours or so from this.

Enjoy your September on and off the tables!
