Cool - we are on the same page

I bought my last ticket to USA via Skyscanner. It is very good site indeed.

Bar Brothers Groningen Training

About to start 2nd workout in the 1st month for 6 month beginner program.
On Monday I completed training and added in the 4th set as a super set of chin ups , dips and push ups (7, 19, 4).
Depending how my muscles do today after 3 sets, I will see if I can do even full 4th set of all 8 exercises and then add super set as 5th set chin ups and dips or pull ups and push ups. I am also considering to experiment with resting period between exercises since in the 1st training I had average of 45 seconds rest between exercises or more. So to add more tempo and push muscles (give them less time for recovery in between) I will in future work outs use resting period of 45 seconds. Same thing goes for resting between sets instead of 4 minutes I will do 3 minutes.

So to sum up, 4 things that I am adding and experimenting with Bar Brothers Groningen Full Body Workout:
- Less rest between exercises (from 60 to 45 seconds)
- Adding additional set (4 instead of 3 or more then 4 depending on current level everyone feels it different)
- Adding super set for exercises I love and want to improve (pull ups, dips, push ups, chin ups - combining only 2 of these 4)
- Less rest between sets (less then initial 4 minutes rest)

For today's work out I will stick to 1 minute rests in between exercises and again complete full work out 3 sets as prescribed. Idea for today is to add extra set(s) and not to experiment with rest times because current amount of repetitions per each exercise is less then 10 (only 12 dips as exception) and with lower reps and high sets muscle building is happening (strength training). So today I may end up doing even more then 4 sets vs 3 prescribed. I am shooting for 4 sets and 5th set as super set for Chin Ups and Dips.

I will update once I complete the training my experience with it. On the side note, I started doing videos before and after workout and I will be backing them all up to have as motivation and tracking.

Foot is still messed up but luckily for squats I do pistol squats on right foot and the rest of exercises don't trouble foot at all which is excellent.

For those who missed the update about my new in home workout program, check out following links:
- Actual work out I am doing now HERE
- 6 month beginner program HERE
- Bar Brothers beginner challenge
4 muscle ups
15 dips
20 pushups
10 jumping squats
10 leg raises
4 muscle ups
3 minute time limit
- Bar Brothers official challenge
7 muscle ups
25 dips
10 wide grip pull ups
20 pistol squats (10 each leg)
25 push ups
10 full leg raises
7 muscle ups
5 minutes

That is where I am heading and along the road I have goals to hit 20 pull ups in a max rep as well as increase my push ups max to 30 and more (eventually 50+!) and have proper dips form. Will be very difficult road but I look forward to it all, especially as I will be doing this 100% on my own the whole journey which makes it even more challenging and worth it!

2nd workout completed

49:36 is time for whole work out including rest periods.
I did 4 sets of full body work out with following added variation :
- First 3 sets I did as prescribed
- Between 3rd and 4th set I had 3 minutes vs 4 minutes rest
- 4th set I did with minimum rest between exercises (less than 10 seconds - this was super good and killer burn!)
- 5th set was super set of Chin ups max set (7) and Dips on chair max set (14) but without rest between heavy 4th set into 5th set.

Overall very happy with today's work out. Definitely added extra burn effect and tired my muscles more vs the 1st training I did. I will follow how my muscles react by Friday and then I will proceed to train on Friday with the same intensity or add even more variation (less resting time in between).

Highly recommend this workout for all poker players as you can do it in comfort of your home, room and take it with you anywhere where you go. Pull ups and chin ups is the only thing that you need bar for, however if you don't have one, you can do substitute exercises for them which you can find plenty of - ideally you want to do pull ups and chin ups they work your body muscles very good!

Workout, Foot and Poker :)

Instead of doing workout on Friday I did it today. The reason is on Thursday Partizan played game vs Videoton and on that night I also had some long island ice tea to celebrate victory which caused me to feel hangover on Friday. Instead of doing workout without energy, hangover and rushed, I decided to move it to Saturday. What I did do yesterday was tested my max reps for chin ups (10) and push ups with super proper form (tight abs, ass and lower part, using elbows to bend properly 90 degree angle etc) and I did 17 of them which is OK considering I am out of training properly for almost 3 weeks.

Today I completed training as prescribed and did super set of max reps for chin ups (6 only today!!!) and push ups (10 only today!!!). I definitely felt tired towards the end of the work out as today and yesterday I didn't move much (my foot is still injured but recovering ok now!) + muscles are worked from those max reps day before and 5 sets 2 days before that of same training.

Foot therapy is going well. I can move left foot up and down much smoother and better with way less pain and much more comfort. I still have pain trying to go inside the ankle to twist it, that is where the most pain is happening now. I also tried outside of building to run/jog 10 meters and I felt a lot of pain. So I am still not ready to add any rope jumping, sprints or other foot related cardio things to my training routine.
I have 10 initial sessions scheduled of physical therapy, completed 8 so far, by Wednesday following week I will complete 10 after which we will do more tests and see how to proceed. Since I am nowhere near 100% for full work out (can't jog, run or jump or do faster movements), I am expecting 10 more therapy sessions which is another week and a half after which thanks to laser and electricity I expect to be ready to get back to 4 training sessions per week - 3 at home using Bar Brother system and 1 in CrossFit temple with my Sensei doing conditioning/cardio type work outs as well as perfecting my form for dips, practicing some muscle ups, working on different pull up variations and such things. Very excited and eager to get back to 4x per week! I am now at 85kgs with huge will to train/work out and be active. Nutrition is OK but not perfect, but I am still not overdoing it always but I decide when to treat myself what (like Ice Cream and plenty of it) or celebrating Partizan win with that alcohol :)

Poker related
Had a really good past week, won a significant amount of money which allows me to feel no pressure about any food/coffee or extra bills by the end of this year. I basically have a bit over 2k euro saved now and from this point on, remaining 4 months in 2017 are purely used for BR building, Thailand trip and 2018 special funds for rents and bills.
With 100 hours of steady grind on average I expect to make 3k so 12k is something that would be very cool, 10k is also nice and 8k or so would also make me happy. That's what happens when all pressure for bills and life stuff is taken away - I can just focus on playing solid poker and putting in hours now.

Tomorrow is Zvezda vs PARTIZAN derby game. Betting odds are favoring home team but Partizan will come on top as winner. I plan to bet 200 euros or more as betting odd is over 3 which means EV is 33% of time needs to happen to break even - I expect Partizan to win in over 50% of time this game because last season we rapped them in all 4 matches, we have better coach (legend, Miroslav Djukic) much stronger key players in every single area of the team as well as killer goalkeeper. So I really expect 2 goals margin win tomorrow at 7pm. It is super +EV to bet on Partizan and I will consider reinvesting 300+$ I made from betting on 3.10 odd on Partizan Away vs Video which was also another huge +EV odd.

Enjoy remaining of your August and may Partizan crush Zvezda again tomorrow!

Partizan odds update

In Serbia you can find odds from 2.80 to 3.15 for Partizan to win. However, online you can find 3.75 odds for Partizan on Bet365.
As poker players, we all know concept of EV, odds and probabilities. It is super +EV to bet on this betting odd considering that Partizan is 3 points behind Zvezda and will go for win, has better coach, stronger team (that won 3 out of 4 derby games in last season) and that Zvezda will play for draw.

zvezdsa = red star belgrade?
as im seeing it, red star is fav to win ? and they have 1st on league table compared to partizan that is 6th? are you sure that red star will not try to keep their 5 - 0 streak going ?

Yes I am sure :)
Game ended draw goal less 0-0. Partizan had penalty that referee didn't blow in 1st half, Zvezda had more chances, 2nd half was super low and slow paced. Draw as outcome today is OK but still EV was sick to pass not to bet on. I bet 300ish EUR on 2 with potentially winning 1k EUR but it didn't go through today.

Congrats! I used to bet before like that then added system betting and in the end switched to single betting. Each way has its positive and negative sides but the fact remains that single betting covers most outcomes therefore gives highest chance to win in the long run.

Foot injury, Training and Poker

Today I had 10th therapy and determined with doctor that we need to do more sessions. My foot is way better then what it was on 3rd of August or ever since started therapy sessions, and yesterday for the 1st time I felt electricity in the ankle even though I had it setup past 8 times. My tissue was swalen so much and water inside prevented it to recover faster. Doctor confined today and told me that injury was serious (at 1st she acted cool to keep me positive when I started with sessions) and that I should definitely not rush with heavy work outs or cardio type of training for a while. I did get advice to keep exercising foot the hard way (inside ankle twisting is where I feel sick pain now) as well as test it in more walking. So I have made a goal for myself to every day walk 10000 steps and monitor how my foot will react to that "heavy" walking. Today I came back from my favorite coffee place home, took 1.1km walk and my foot/ankle was in pain. So it will likely take some more weeks before I can fully do things I used to do in training but on the other hand I can now focus on staying home, working out Bar Brothers, preparing my own food and grinding 4 hours per day with emphasis on studying and teaching as well.

Training Bar Brothers Groningen is going good. Today I completed 4th training, its my 2nd week doing beginner program. Tomorrow I will aim to do another one to make it 5th so that on Friday I can do 6th and get back on track to do work outs Mon - Wed - Fri.
Whats nice is that each one of the 4 work outs I did so far gave me pump and most important thing is that all the exercises I am working really hard to do 100% proper form so that in future more demanding training I don't mess it up or slack off on any exercise.
My hope is that before I get to 2nd month of beginner work out (which is 2.5 weeks from now) I hope to get my left foot functional to extent that I can do some rope jumping or such activity. That would mean a lot to me as I want to add conditioning training as 4th training per week but working it with my Sensei while I do 3 work outs at home steady.

Poker this week I played 6 hours which is cool since I am rebuilding my steady grind habit. After very nice results past several weeks, I had a decent swing + questionable plays. Periods like this make me question my game most because I encounter some spots that I want to fully understand and work around. So I look forward for my bro Rocky to finish his deal so that we can resume our studying together.
For September I will look to put in 100 hours with idea to do 25 hours of poker per week , 6 days 4 hours each while having an extra day off per week to focus on other projects and ongoing things.

This is all for the update, I wish you great end of August on and off the tables and I will see you in next update!

Foot injury update

Today had 11th therapy session and my left foot felt much better compared to all the previous ones. I could actually move my foot in all directions with pain whenever I move it inside (going towards right basically). The good news is that doctor cleared me (for now) from further therapy and got the green light to try some training using that foot as well. I was also told to go through the pain barrier a bit in training to make the foot adjust but not too much or it will lead back to injury. So the idea is that I will have training with Sensei next week and we will do some conditioning, will try rope jumping and some other activities with foot and hope all will go well. My conversation with doctor ended on very positive note as she told me that I got really bad injury and that it is great to see I am recovering this fast and feeling way better today. If I get major pain again or my condition worsens, I was told to come back for more therapy.

So there it is, 11 sessions, 2 weeks of therapy and before that 2 more weeks before starting with therapy, so whole month with fucked up left foot and only 5 training's in August - unacceptable! So I look forward to at least 12 work outs in September if not full 16 work outs!

September and things to follow

September is finally here so here is some major outline for goals in this month:

- 100 hours of grind
- 15 hours of coaching
- 45 hours of studying
- 20 hours of teaching music/guitar
- 12 training sessions (Bar Brothers Groningen)

Side goals:

- Drop down 3kgs in weight with proper nutrition (calorie deficit + work outs)
- Make 3k or more
- Improve game plan for all positions (focusing on specific spots 1st!)
- Save 80% of winnings for Thailand trip, future BR and 2018 life expenses

Organization for grinding:

- 4 hours/sessions per day, 6 days per week
- Aim for 25 hours per week grinding
- On days when there are coachings and music lessons to do 3 sessions
- Make up volume on 7th day of the week but aim until Sunday to complete all the grind
- Be flexible due to life things and events not to strictly grind Mon to Sat but to take day off during the week as well

Have fun on and off the tables in September!

Quick update

Grind

Past 7 days I grinded more then 27 hours from Monday to Sunday! This is excellent volume and with this kind of approach to grinding I will hit 100 hours without any problems.

I am happy to say that I surpassed already my side goal of winning 3k in September. Regardless of that fact, I will continue to grind steady, work on my game and aim to hit 10k and then re-evaluate remaining of the year targets. But the important thing is that in the past several weeks I made close to 5k and that I am half way to completing my remaining profit target for 2017. Once I hit 10k I will likely keep grinding or simply invest my time elsewhere.

Nutrition

Very poor, lots of celebrations, alcohol + cake, candy, soda type of food. I am now above 87kgs and I was less then month ago around 82-83kgs.
I am excited to add cardio with 3 training sessions per week and I will also take out sweets, candy and soda in future as it is getting clearly out of control for me

Work out

Following week will have training with Sensei and outside of it I will do 3 more Bar Brothers work outs. Look forward testing my left foot with some rope jumping and such exercises. Should be lots of fun and struggle at the same time.

2nd week of September

Goal again is to hit 25 hours grind from Mon to Sun. While doing this 6x4 sessions per day with 1 day off, I will maximize my focus on proper nutrition (to loose kgs I added!!!) and kick working out up in higher gear!

That is all for now, wish you great September on and off the tables!

Upswing much? :f_grin:

You might want to re-asses your $ goals for the year if you continue this upswing. You'll be missing alot of potential extra profits if you hit your target and afterwards you have nothing to aim for. Or if you're already close you'll be thinking: 'oh no need to grind that much, i'm nearly there already'.

For the soda's you could try some Cola Zero, we drink it all the time in the morning.

Upswing - what is that bro?
I am kidding of course, I am just crushing high end multipliers. Since I started Spins in mid March last year, I had 9 multipliers that were 8 times 100x and 1 time 200x. From those 9 multipliers I won 8 of them, the only one that I lost was in my favorite coffee place and it was 100x.

You are right and I agree about end of the year goals and reassessing it all. 4 months left and I made 5 out of 10k that I set as goal. With 100 hours of grind of average I win 3k per month so I will likely need to set up at least 5k more on top of the 10k to keep pushing and going through it.
Outside of financial goal, I decided to treat myself well with money earned so I am going to 2 major things that I just love to do:
- Partizan away game vs Young Boys
- Live CG in Bratislava

I will travel to Meningem Germany on 11th and come back on 15th of September, game is in Bern Switzerland on 14th! So I will get chance to support my team Partizan Belgrade away fellow fans - I am super thrilled and excited about this! Have friend in Germany at whose place I will stay 3 nights and I also will take laptop to try to load clients there and see if there are some restrictions for grinding (curious about this a lot!!!).

For Bratislava trip, I will be there from 22nd to 25th of September, to meet with one of my great friends and we will play live CG (1-2 eur) and just have great time (go out, play some PES on Playstation <3)

So these 2 trips in September will cost me around 1.5k EUR if I bust 1k BR that I am taking for live CG - which I am expecting to at least break even with considering how terrible I ran in the past live event in Varna. Regardless of it all, I am ready to spend 1.5k on these 2 things that I value a lot in my life and that gives me even more will and joy to sit down and grind further on.

So financial targets are set but they will extend from what I am doing now of course. The important part is that despite these 2 trips arranged I already have extra money for Thailand and from this point on I can start saving for life expenses in 2018 and poker BR. Depending on how my live CG adventure goes in Bratislava, I may come back with 1k+ profits which will cover me several rents in 2018 which is always great thing.

In regards to coke zero and any other soda, I found that I can't restrict myself with those drinks. I am not the guy who can just have 1 can of soda, I either get 2l bottle and take it out in the whole day or don't drink any at all. The only way I can restrict myself is if I am in the restaurant and or coffee place where I am staying for limiting time so I drink it way less. But I decided to go for extreme weight loss UFC method AGAIN this week and see what happens from 88kgs until Sunday this week. I look forward to dropping at least 3 to 4kgs in 6 days :)

Just wanted to jump in with a quick comment.
Why would you want to restrict yourself with Coke-Zero? Sure, get that 2l bottle and then maybe another one if you want to go crazy Really, what's stopping you? It has zero calories and despite some scare-mongering you might encounter on the net, it poses no real risk to your health short term or long term. Funny thing is that it pretty much can be considered "more healthy" for the general public than any freshly squeezed fruit juice just for its lack of calories

Anyway, been reading your blog from time to time. Keep up the good work and GL.

I dont wana sound like a "mainstream crybaby" that everything is unhealthy BUT aspartame is known to cause nervouse system damage, not even talking about all the other fancy chemicals there... why drinking shit if u can drink water, its just a matter of making healthy habbits and sticking to them. :)

INGREDIENTS
Carbonated Water, Caramel Color, Phosphoric Acid, Aspartame, Potassium Benzoate (To Protect Taste), Natural Flavors, Potassium Citrate, Acesulfame Potassium, Caffeine.

Don't wanna get into a debate about this. But if you want to know where my stance comes from take a look at this article (looking at linked citations is also worthwhile imo). https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/aspartame-truth-vs-fiction/

If that doesn't convince you, no worries, water is obv great and I think we can both agree on that :)
